  1. I like the all mirrored cabinets, they make your trailer look much bigger inside and the feeling of more room. On nice days with the windows open it brings the outside inside, for that natural look and feeling. trainman

  2. I just purchased one of many gadgets for the Ollie thought I’d share it. From where else amazon. The make is Opolar model # CF02 mini car fan. It has USB plugin, mounts anywhere with suction cup. Has four fan speeds and is super quite. It moves a lot of air. The only thing is the USB cable is 10’ long i had a 6” cable that works great. I posted the pictures of it mounted. I’m not sure how to post the item on this site from amazon. If any one can help? Thanks I’m going to purchase a 2nd for the other side.

  3. Trainman, cool, that is similar to my RV660LMT unit. Did you know that you can load topo and specialty maps (in Garmin map format) onto the flash card? If you select both Topo and the regular Garmin database, you end up with a nice composite map with more detail when zoomed way in than the road maps,. and on my gps it is still ROUTABLE. https://www.gpsfiledepot.com/maps/state/all John Davies Spokane WA

  4. When we go to purchase a new vehicle I always want the NAV system on the vehicle I buy, but after having them they are pretty much useless and you can't use them when driving to reset, etc. When we purchased our new 2019 Ram I asked the sales person why so few vehicles had the factory NAV ordered with them and the sales person said, just about everyone uses their iPhone today and the $800 option is not as updated, or work as well as the phone. For the RAM I just purchase a new Garmin with a 7" screen, it does everything and mounts on the dash with a RAM mount and work out very well a $220 purchase. At looking at new vehicles in the future I think I will look at vehicles without the NAV systems as many do add some $5000-$6000 to the price of the vehicle just to get the NAV factory system, I'm talking Acura/Lexus here, when most of the vehicles do come with all the needed electronics we would need. Just something to think about when purchasing your next vehicle and if you want to pay for a factory NAV system. trainman John, here is the unit I purchased, it does come with Backup Camera Option and a suction type windshield mount, I stick mine on the dash where it has a flat plastic part in the center about the control screen on the Ram 2019. You can use the windshield, but it's farther away and harder to reach. I have purchased several items from this company and always had good results, the price for this unit is $249.00 and it is a new unit, you can purchase Refurbished units at a lessor price, but have always bought new. As far as I know all Garmin GPS have lifetime updates, so auto manufactures should do the same. Due note here that Honda gives you a 5 years free GPS update and our Acura you get to pay $150 for your updates, go figure there both Honda owned. https://g.factoryoutletstore.com/details/719956/garmin-drivesmart-61lmt-s-north-america-w-city-navigator-nt-europe.html?category_id=18937&catalogitemid=643164

  5. Thank you John. You are always a wealth of information. This happens to be leaking at the base of the toilet where it connects. It appears there is a small 3x3" valve that the fresh water connects to at the base of the toilet. It doesn't appear to be leaking at the connection of the line itself, it seems to be leaking from a valve maybe. We don't think its leaking from the inlet hose.

  6. Thanks Bill. We searched and found ShallowGal's thread on their Alaska trip -- traveling with "doods" Great trip! And it gave us confidence that we could find room for our pals. We have decided to sell our Leisure Travel Unity. Hopefully we can find a buyer who will enjoy it as much as we have. We love the adventures, and want a rig that will enable us to go even more places in more seasons. We have a lot we want to see and do!

  8. John, I spoke to Jason when I had this happen and he said it is very common. His suggestion was to drive the trailer over a bump, like a speed bump and it will correct itself. That is how they do it at Oliver service. I didn't want to hook up the trailer so, I lowered the front of trailer and raised the back, until the front shackles flipped. I then lowered each rear side with a piece of wood and a jack under the center rear shackles. As I lowered the rear jacks, the shackles righted themselves. It took a couple of tries as one would flip but the other wouldn't. Andrew

  9. We have all mirrors and like it. I’m surprised they don’t offer it anymore.

  11. I tried just doing the black vinyl but it didn't look great from the front. The back was smooth, but the front still looked like millions of bubbles trapped under the vinyl.

  12. ShallowGal has two large labradoodles plus a good sized husband and when they picked up their Ollie they immediately left on a multi-month trip across the USA to Alaska and then back down to Florida. Last I heard all of them are still in one piece and very happy with each other - including the Oliver. Bill

  13. I would think the decision between the Suburban and Truma water heaters would boil down to the type camping you do (or plan to do) most. The full benefits of the Truma would only be available if you are using full hookups in a RV park. You can't very well have quick/unlimited hot water without having unlimited cold water in the first place and a drain down which to put said water after you're done using it. We spend 95% of our time boondocking so I can't see spending the extra money with our style of camping. OTOH if you are primarily camping with hookups, you could probably forgo the solar/battery package and with the money you save, justify spending it on a Truma.

  15. For what its worth: I'm hull 117 and most of my 90 degree elbows are plastic. Even though I've never had a problem I do carry two three foot sections of pex, two 90 degree shark bite elbows and two shark bite straight connectors just in case. The current Oliver production system is not only more robust but I'm guessing that it saves a little money in the construction too. On the left side of the picture, note the fresh water tank mod (where the white pipe joins the blue pipe in the foreground) that was done by the Service guys and they used the "sweeping" bends for the 90 degree to the tank. 16. Choied, Have some Dexter pins, Dexter bushings and 45 degree fittings on the shelf to look at. The Dexter pin takes 1/4"-28 thread grease fitting. Ours came with straight fittings, but 45s could be used, too. Hope this helps.

  17. That’s what I love about this trailer. Anything and everything can be done on it. Like to see the pictures

  18. Our story is the same as many others. Started looking at Airstreams after seeing them on the road and thinking they were the pinnacle of trailers. Looked at a number of different dealers, RV shows, etc. Joined Airforums (still there). It was on Airforums one day that someone mentioned Oliver in a thread about Airstream quality issues and I went to their web site and the rest is history. We saw one here at the Bluebonnet Rally then found out we had a neighbor with one (Pete) who was hosting a small caravan passing through San Antonio (#50/81/82). After talking to Pete, Steve, Gary and Lee it was a no brainer! Mike

  19. I talked ( at length) to the Dexter rep at the 2018 Rally this past weekend about the problem with the "plugged" zerk. He said that the assembly into which the zerks are threaded come to Dexter with a (plastic) film covering the "tube" that goes from the zerk into the bushing reservoir. While it shold be removed prior to installation, there have been times when that film simply didn't get discarded. This is probably what happened in my case. The fix is simple - take the zerk off, insert a thin piece of wire into the tube behind the zerk and clean it out by moving the wire back and forth (wiping the wire off several times as you are doing this). Screw the zerk back into place and all should be well. On a related topic - when re-greasing the EZ-Flex, only pump enough grease into the zerk so that you can barely see grease coming out of the bushing. Any more than that is a waste of grease. There are no "seals" in these bushings, so, there is nothing to hurt. According to the Rep - the actual primary job of the grease is to help dissipate heat with the secondary function to actually lubricate. Bill

  20. Thanks guys! I've always simply replaced zerks when I've run into this problem but they've always been on old crusty nasty things. With this being on a less than one year old unit with no signs of dried out old grease I figured there just had to be another way. Bottom line - I'll just replace it. Over the past two weeks I've greased two separate Elite II's with the EZ-Flex. I started with a brand new 14 oz tube of grease and there is still a bit left in the tube - probably about 2 or 3 oz. This job probably could be done with less grease, but there is not much to be lost by over-doing it a bit. Interestingly on one job the zerks were placed on the inside so that you had to crawl under the camper to do the job while (on mine) the zerks were placed to the outside. With the zerks on the outside I didn't have to crawl under but with the tires in place, it can be a slight job in getting the flexible grease gun tube firmly and directly aligned to the zerk. And, the two (on each side) that are directly above the "rubber" between the tires had to be done more by "feel". While I was at it I placed "caps on each zerk in order to keep them a bit cleaner - primarily for when this job is done while out on the road. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0040CWX7C/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Bill

  21. I should have cleaned and painted the steel mounts during EZ Flex installation. Had some oxidation on the Dexter EZ Flex/axle steel mounts. Just finished cleaning and painting parts of the steel mounts on both sides with Rust-Oleum. Greased before cleaning/painting, too. After a couple thousand miles the excess grease collects lots of dirt/dust if not cleaned off after lubrication. Plan to do a better job keeping excess grease cleaned off of springs/pins/EZ Flex unit in the future. After:
