Right now there are numerous Ollie Owners hitting the road towards the 2025 Rally. Please be safe out there and have fun while at the Rally. For the first time, I will not be attending this year but hope to se everyone in 2026. Bill4 points

Finally finished the Victron system retrofit. Everything seems to be working well and playing nicely with the other components. Haven't modified the truck yet with the DC cables to power the DC-DC charger, but no reason to think it won't work properly. Still a little programming to do to get all the settings and configuration correct. The Victron stuff is top notch and would be a good option for a premium package from Oliver.3 points

My wife and I purchased Hull #251 on Sunday. I believe we're the fourth owners. This is our first travel trailer since a tent trailer in the 90's. Really regret we'll miss the owner's rally this weekend. Looking forward to getting out with the trailer but it will be a few weeks. We'll do some local shake down trips to start. We've been lurking on the site for the last couple years and really appreciate all the owner information we've read. Thanks, Tony & Rhonda2 points

I’m looking at ordering a FITCAMX. I like the way it looks OEM, no wires, made model specific. My old dash cam is clunky, old and difficult to use.2 points

Bill, Concur 100% -- I've operated in some of the nastiest places imaginable and in terrain rugged enough to give only a few hours of SAT commo time. Back in '08, I found myself and my colleagues between a couple high passes in the Hindu Kush -- we had to get a sick member of our party out of the area but it wasn't going to be by foot. We needed MEDEVAC air assets to get him to safety. Fortunately, timing was good and I was able to contact support via our Iridium SAT phone. The high terrain (>18k') only allowed a short window of commo -- EVAC arrived in time and all was good. Can't say enough about having the right kit for the planned adventure you may be contemplating. Frankfort is 45 minutes to an hour from Winchester depending on traffic in Lexington. Several nice restaurants in and around Frankfort. We like Goodwood and Bourbon On Main in Frankfort. Call first as they may be closed due to the flooding a few weeks ago. If you like bourbon, there are three close distilleries; Buffalo Trace, Woodford Reserve and Castle and Key. Probably no availability on tours this close but you may be able to get some tastings. If you go to Woodford or Castle & Key, The Stave Restaurant is a good lunch spot. Reservations recommended and dark on Mondays and Tuesday. Good luck and have a good trip. Tony1 point

Sorry - this was not a dash camera. Basically it is just a add on camera mainly used (I think) for rear facing cameras. I just tried to extend its range (too far) and reduce the number of screens I had in the cockpit via having the signal feed into the Garmin. Patriot is the only person I know that has the Garmin dashcam. Bill1 point

I need to check out the dash cam feature on my Garmin GPS RV785. Anybody have experience with their’s to share?1 point

I have been very happy with my garmin mini 3. It is very basic and very small but does what I need. I also use the Dongar power adapter to connect it to the rear view mirrors power source.1 point

Our local Oliver dealer also sells Intech and Outdoors RV. We looked at the 19MKS, it is a nice layout. The queen bed is easy to fold up and makes the area spacious. The two recliners are a real plus, too. Their trailers are very well insulated and the Titanium has a bunch of nice features. We’ve been following the RV Geeks for a while, too. Mike1 point

Each year Garmin provides a "year in review" which shows the kinds of activities, places, reasons for users asking for help, etc. for users of the Garmin InReach satellite rescue device. There a number of these types of devices on the market, but this report by Garmin highlights some of the reasons for using any of these. The Garmin report can be viewed HERE. Bill1 point

Agreed, if stolen it’s a useless brick to a thief, but a hassle to replace for sure. Good point! 👍🏻Last fall during our 48 day trip out west thankfully, we never had an issue. SL is really becoming a part of RVing. So glad we have it!1 point

2025 Oliver Forum and Facebook Group Rally Attendee List - Final Issue! Attached is the final PDF sheet of 81 of you who have volunteered to be added to this list for the convenience of other rally attendees. It comes in handy for finally meeting someone you've talked to online, or to see that amazing modification you've been lusting after. Or, just to say hello. Print this list before you go to the rally, or copy it to your phone. If you need a printed copy, I will have about 50 at our campsite. It is G23, right on the corner of the main drag. Just look for "Curiosity" on the front of the trailer. If we're not home, I'll have the stack on the table by the door or the hood of my truck, weather permitting. A big thanks to all of you who have contributed. Making this list my first rally in 2023 was invaluable in getting to know people I'd only met on the Oliver Forum or Facebook. Thank you! We use WhatsApp Messenger on Starlink for calls to family and for emergencies when off the cell grid. This app is becoming quite popular: https://www.whatsapp.com/stayconnected1 point

Our Garmin Explorer is a great safety backup. Never had to use it. At one time when we did off-grid camping, I used it to plot our routes and used it to hike. We would also message our kids. We would set it up so our kids could see where we were at all times.1 point

That’s a neat review.👍🏻 We have iPhone 14’s with IOS18 operating system and Verizon as our satellite service provider for an emergency SOS off grid. Our Starlink Mini is also another option we can use when are at our base camp. https://www.verizon.com/wireless-devices/smartphones/messages-via-satellite/ https://support.apple.com/en-us/1050971 point
