Great data dump, @Steve Morris; thanks for sharing. We're doing the same weight data collection with our's. Just curious, we plan to weigh with the 6gal water heater full, do you have the tank-type or tankless? If tank-type, was it full or empty? We're using the hitch scale from eTrailer, FYI. Our last weight measurement was: 1. Tanks: Empty 2. Garage: 25# tool kit, 30amp cable, "Lego" blocks for rear jacks, patio carpet, solo stove. 3. Front Box: X-chocks, fresh water hose/filter, 15# misc. items 4. LPG: Full 30# tanks 5. No food stuffs in the larder, full water heater, 1UP folded. 6. Full cooking/kitchen kit Tongue WT: 485#. This seems a bit low to us... (Haven't weighed it yet with he two bikes on the 1UP (approx. 55#).

FYI: We arrived Pensacola, FL last night for our anniversary week excursion (sans Casablanca) we do every year to a different location. Planned this one eight months ago - the goal is to dive on the USS Oriskany tomorrow. We're quite west of the spaghetti plots but storm surges in the gulf may be an issue.... We'll know more by this afternoon.

That's exactly right, an insulated 10'x12' bay door... The width of the OTT makes it very easy to slide right in (unlike the AS, which usually took a couple passes).

@Steph and Dud B: Congrats on your new build project, guarantee that you'll love your new Ollie-dedicated garage! We have a 30'x30'-er as well and it serves as our workshop and general "Man-cave". Gone are those days of winterizing! Consider an exterior 30AMP plug, soft water, and septic access for that occasional visitor... Please keep us posted regarding your build project progress... Cheers!

GENERAL FYI COMMENT: We're headed (by COMAIR) to Pensacola on Monday - WX is looking favorable, so far. We'll be diving on the USS Oriskany about 40 miles south of Pcola in 120 feet of water. Keeping fingers crossed for an uneventful trip and that Mother Nature is smiling on us! HA!

Greasing Dexter EZ flex suspension.

When younger and working, "estimated time" needed for a potential project always seemed to creep into the equation. But now, my "time factor" is different, I don't really care/stress how long it takes for a project, especially an Ollie one - just want it done right the first time. That's the goal at least. The peace of mind achieved by a correctly executed DIY OTT project is worth so much more than having to pay someone else do it for us, IMO. This is the case for major systems maintenance and upgrades efforts, such as running gear, AC/DC electrical, solar, plumbing systems, etc., as well as for the smaller upgrades. Having this peace of mind gives us a higher level of confidence in our trailer when out on the open road or boondocking in an isolated US FS camping area, knowing exactly the status of these key systems, because we did the work. More to the point of the thread, maintaining the proper condition of wheel bearings and Dexter EZ flex suspension components at the recommended service intervals is part of the Oliver owner experience for us... Yeah, it takes longer for us to complete the servicing of these important parts than taking the rig to Les Schwab's, but we also get to fix and clean-up a lot of ancillary items that LS will not consider attending to. Pride of ownership, perhaps. ...we just like doing the projects! -
...saved the day!

Do like what @Geronimo John does (which I will also do) and digitize those OTT manuals so you can read them from your iPhone, laptop, or pad... That way, you can read them anytime - anywhere, not just sitting in your new Oliver...

Stellar work! Very clean modification... Thanks so much for sharing your job in this post!

Our's is doing the same thing - just ordered the new part. Thanks for the great post! -
Just curious @Sully: What type/mfg. of airbags and how much PSI gives you the level ride configuration?

They both look like (maybe) #2 Phillips screws. The bottom screw may secure the cord itself to the plug assembly. The center screw likely removes the cap to expose the individual 30Amp wire connectors.

You'll like the LED feature, Mike - the MaxAir also has a locking tab on the handle to keep it from opening while under tow...FYI.

Mine's the Bemmer... It's a K1600/GT. That's Ralph by his GW. Tom's got the HD. We've been riding Bemmers for decades. Also have a highly modified R90/6 back in the barn! This is pleasant riding here in the Rockies - drivers are aware and not crazy like elsewhere in the US, we've not had any issues. Just passed our projected halfway point today, DAY-6: 1,784 miles since departing home, FYI. We'll be back here soon with the Ollie! Cheers!

We just checked out the Craters of the Moon campground while on our motorcycle tour today! WE WILL be coming back soon with the Casablanca! This is a wonderful area...
