  1. You will enjoy Cades Cove Campground, it is very quiet. We normally stay in the Pigeon Forge area but always take a day trip to Cades Cove; it has lots of wild life in the area, we see black bears every time we have visited Cades Cove.
  2. There has been a lot of discussion about re-sealing the rear Oliver Light; if there is no water leak and no need to remove the light fixture completely so what is the best caulk to go around the perimeter of the light fixture?
  3. We have been also using Meguiar's products for over 14 years on fiberglass trailers with great results. Last weekend we returned home from a camping trip in the western parts of Virginia. The last campground was Sherando Lake on the Blue Ridge Parkway and we were under trees that liked to dump lots of sap. When we got home I just washed the trailer and the sap came of very easy. Then I polished the trailer with Meguiar's Premium Flagship Marine Wax; looks like new.
  4. It takes a little time to obtain your correct setting for the Andersen WDH adjustment. I have been running for the past several years with 8 treads showing and I think for my set up it is the best. Before I disconnect the Andersen's whale tail I always run the adjusting nut to zero threads showing, that gives additional chain for re-connection at any angle; it only takes a few extra minutes.
  5. This morning i was out for a doctor's appointment in the Chesapeake, Virginia area and there were several gas stations closed. I went to Sams Club and there were about two hundred vehicles in line for gas. I only had to wait a short time, just lucky. We had planned to leave on Monday for a few days camping in the western part of Virginia, now I am not sure, may have to cancel our reservations.
  6. Hello Claudia, you will enjoy owning an Oliver over the Casita. We were owners of a Casita for eight years plus several other travel trailers but the Oliver is an excellent trailer.
  7. We have stayed several times at this campground over the years. I am aware of the gate code, I print all documentation associated with a reservation, thanks for the update. Our reservation is on loop C.
  8. We have reservations at Sherando Lake Recreation Area in Virginia next month; this is a hard place to obtain a reservation, it has always filled up fast.
  9. John: You said "they have been included in every paper and electronic manual until model year 2020". Our trailer is a 2015 Elite II delivered on September 2, 2015 and there are NO electrical drawing and I have never been able to obtain a copy. This also goes for plumbing drawing as well.
  10. It's a lovely Easter Sunday here in the southeastern part of Virginia.
  11. Welcome to the Oliver Travel Trailer ownership, you will enjoy the trailer.
  12. How the chains are attached to the Oliver is the weak point; not the chains themselves.
  13. We will be leaving Douthat SP on May 20, sorry we will miss meeting you.
  14. Douthat State Park in VA, is an outstanding campground; we have reservations for a few day in May. There are several campgrounds associated with this park, we like the Whispering Pines it only has 22 sites and they are very large all back in sites with water and electric plus a double dump station when leaving. You will need reservations, not much chance of getting a site in Whispering Pines without reservations.
  15. In over 50 years of camping in travel trailers I have never known anyone to have a propane tank taken.
  16. I have been using the Tireminder TPMS for several years but not the App Version. As for the amplifier, I installed ours under the housing for the propane bottles, just made a bracket to mount it near the switch box for the rear jacks. As for the 12VDC that the amplifier needs I just tapped into the power lead for the tongue jack on the protected fuse side. Then installed another inline fuse (1 amp) to feed the TPMS amplifier. If the tongue jack fuse blows you will not have any power to the TPMS amplitier; but this is something that will show up quickly, since you use the tongue jack a lot. There is a green LED on the amplifier that remain on when power is available. The system works fine without the amplifier but Tireminder highly recommends installing the amplifier.
  17. Where in Virginia do you live? Our 2015 LEII does not have solar or did we want it when we ordered the trailer from Oliver. However we did get the four Trojan Wet Cell batteries, so far they are doing great; when it time to replace them it will probably be with the same Trojan Wet Cells or AGM. Our trailer is kept out the house under a car port; and we have a 30 amp electrical connection for the trailer, so no issue with charging the batteries. I have been pulling travel trailers all over the USA for years, we stay about 70% of the time in campgrounds with hookups; the other 30% is in National Parks without hookups. We have never had a problem maintaining a charge on the batteries without hookups and no solar. Good luck with your battery replacements.
  18. Bill: I have obtain price quotes from Discount Tire for the BF Goodrich which is owned by Michelin and also the Cooper Tires. I was also informed by Discount Tire that Goodyear had purchased Cooper Tires. I will probably just purchase the BF Goodrich tires, they have provided such outstanding service for a little over five years on our trailer.
  19. I am in the process of replacing the tires on my 2015 Oliver Elite II, it came with BF Goodrich Commercial T/A All Season 2 tires, these have provided excellent service and still look like new. But since Oliver TT has switch over to Cooper Tires, I have been checking out Cooper at various tire dealerships. I just ran across this Cooper recall including the Cooper Discoverer that is current installed on many Oliver TT. Here is the site with the recall information: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/cooper-tire-recalls-400k-light-truck-tires/ar-BB1e3jKm If you have Cooper tires in the date range recall, you should have them checked out.
  20. There are no issues with any size camper in Shenandoah River SP, VA. Very easy access to all site up thru the largest 5th wheels or sunblockers. Most Virginia State Parks have very nice campgrounds with large sites. You can not see the river from the campground but it is only a short walk to reach the river. Enjoy or stay.
