As the years have passed we show our trailer less and less. Not a problem, I’m sure it’s due to the age of our trailer and the big increase of Oliver owners in our geographical area. None of the appliances in our trailer are the same as what is being produced now so I don’t blame Oliver asking one of the newer owners to show instead of us. We still entertain the spontaneous campground questions while we are on the road but the official showing while at home has decreased significantly. Mike

We made all of our June/July Colorado reservations while on this current trip to Arizona the last few weeks. We were fortunate to get reservations where we wanted and when we wanted. If we had waited until we got home in a few weeks we would have been out of luck! Mike

I think you made a great decision! Both of our kids RV with their kids. We’ve camped with our son and family all over Colorado and it’s a great family bonding time and gets the kids out into nature. I hope this works out for you! Mike

Well, considering how many Oliver owners there are now and the varied expertise of those owners I’d say YES! As we sit here in the Arizona desert I keep learning things from owners everywhere. I’ve had several issues solved by fellow owners through this forum. Mike

I don’t think it’s anything to worry about. The cord that came with you trailer is nothing special, there are after market cords that do the same. I got another cord without the locking lug that I carry to extend the reach of my locking cord if needed. We’ve had a few sites where our standard cord didn’t reach and the extension made the difference. Mike

I remove ours 2 or 3 times a year for cleaning. No issues with it staying in place. I wonder if your window might have a gap that’s too big. Mike

Yes, we were attached! Wind was hitting us broadside on the street side. We endured higher winds (60/70mph gusts) a few years ago while not attached, camping in southern Arizona. In that case the wind was in the same direction that the trailer was pointed hitting us in the back. We didn’t get much sleep that night.

You might have a bad Black flush backflow valve. I did. I replaced it and now the flush into the black tank works fine. If you hook a hose to your black tank flush does it fill your black tank? This is from under the dinette seat near the bath. The flush line is on the left, the black tank and backflow valves on the right. This is the assembly detached from the black tank with the new valve I got from Amazon. There are two backflow valves on my trailer (2016). The white part on the right is in the tank. The gray part is the valve that failed. Replaced it with the Thetford above. The bad valve is the gray thing. The black piece under it on the left is the new valve. -

We’re in site 29, level, large great views. All the sites look similar. I glanced at 23 when we walked down to the rest room. Looks good. We are close to the rest rooms/showers which are new and nice. We’re only here overnight but plan on a longer stay on our way home. It’s a small campground, only 29 sites but worth stopping at if you’re traveling I-10. It’s about 10 miles south of the freeway and Deming. Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to everyone. We’ll be camped in Davis Mountain State Park near Fort Davis, TX on New Years Eve. Should be a lively evening! Mike

I just got one 30# and one 20# filled today for our Arizona trip in January. We leave tomorrow or Friday. As I was lifting the 30# tank back into the trailer I thought to myself that it won’t be long that I’ll be replacing those big tanks with the 20#. I always carry one or two smaller tanks anyway for fire pit/grill/griddle when I’m not using the trailer quick connect. Mike

Leaking Propane Hoses to Regulator

You could replace the regulator and carry the old one as a back up. -

Check the McDonald Obs website for dates/hours. Reservations are required for Star Party’s. If you are a week or more in advance getting reservations is no problem. -
No. The larger hitch provides more margin but the 2” works fine without the Andersen. I’d like to have the 2 5/16” and may do it at some point. We’ve used the 2” for 7 years and it’s still more than adequate. Also, we’ve towed about 30K without the Andersen and have not had a single issue. High winds, large trucks, etc, no issues. Mike

Don’t tell me we have to ban Arnold too!!
-
We (moderators) zap them as soon as we see them and ban them permanently. The site admins are working to figure out why all of a sudden these last couple of days has been so bad. Mike

Champion inverter generators are pretty quiet. I’ve had two. Quiet on propane or gas.

We use our Clam a lot in the winter along with our propane fire pit. Keeps it toasty warm inside no matter the outside temperature. There are plenty of wineries in Fredericksburg, we’re club members at Becker Vineyards and go there often. You can spend a few days just visiting wineries! Mike
