  1. Custer SP Needles Eye: When you're at Custer SP, Devil's Tower WY is not too far away and they have Federal and KOA campgrounds:
  2. +1 on Custer State Park! We had a Game Lodge electric campsite, close to the wildlife loop, saw many buffalo. Sylvan Lake is close and nice place for a walk: Badlands: Custer State Park:
  3. When we camp without shore power, sometimes I use the gen-set just to heat water in the hot water heater. It take 30 minutes to have enough hot water for two Navy showers.
  4. We're happy with the Duracell 12V AGM Marine/RV group 27 batteries from Sam's for the past two years. Already have another job for the Duracells to be replaced with lithium.
  5. Keep Ollie in an airplane hangar. Installed a battery master disconnect switch to keep batteries from running down.
  6. A Tundra should not have any issues towing a single axle Ollie without WDH or trailer mounted sway control. We probably have one of the lightest LE2 Ollies @ 4900 to 4950 pounds ready to camp with tongue weight under 500 pounds, empty tanks and it will be getting even lighter after installing Lithium batteries. Found the 2016 Tundra to handle the LE2 easily without WDH with the highest mileage day around 720 miles. Our Ollie has trailer mounted electronic Sway Control and it has activated at least two times applying trailer brakes after coming down a mountain when halfway through curves. It was my fault because I was towing too fast. When the trailer mounted sway control activated I could feel the trailer brakes applying. When we purchased our new 2016 Tundra, also had concerns about legally complying with Tundra's operators manual for sway control just like LongStride. (Forgot about this piece of research in my previous post) Found this 2010 Tundra forum thread about Tundra's sway control from a Toyota training manual. This is why I installed a trailer mounted sway control. From LongStride's recent communications with Toyota, they have changed their position from the 2010 thread. https://www.tundratalk.net/threads/trailer-sway-control.85902/ From the above thread link: "Week 54: Trailer sway control Customers need to know that a truck equipped with electronic trailer sway control is not a substitute for traditional mechanical sway control designed for the trailer".
  7. One of the things I like about Oliver is their willingness to make improvements on an already great product!
  8. Going to replace Ollie's tires. The furnace outlet vent hose became disconnected under the sink in the bath. After installing tires & reconnecting the hose, Ollie will be ready to go!
  9. LongStride, Your Tundra will handle a single axle Ollie without a Anderson WDH without issues. After reading the same section in the 2016 Toyota Tundra's Operators manual, had the same concerns as you. This is my understanding of their operators manual and only my humble opinion: A trailer sway device is needed for trailers over 2000 pounds and something like the Hayes Swaymaster electronic sway control device will work mounted on the trailer unless a WDH is used, Have installation photos on an Ollie, if needed. The SwayMaster activates trailer brakes when a sway event is detected.
  10. Maverick, Been looking at Cooper tires at Discount Tire to replace the BFGs that came with Ollie, too. Here's the BFG replacement @ Discount Tire: https://www.discounttire.com/buy-tires/bfgoodrich-commercial-t-a-all-season-2/p/28036 Thanks,
  11. Galway Girl, In addition to dewdev's above post, you can get a specific build sheet from Dexter for your axles that show Dexter information for brakes, seals, bearings, and dimensional info. Here's where you find your axle serial number: https://www.dexteraxle.com/docs/default-source/default-document-library/light-duty-axle-identificationb27a839d2ba463c18d7aff64007a4014.pdf?sfvrsn=66dee048_0 Here's a sample axle build sheet for our Ollie. Most LE2 Ollies cannot use our axle information because Oliver ran out of 3500 pound axles while building our Ollie installing single axle Ollie 5200 pound axles.
  12. +1 on Motion Industries
  13. Make Always try to pull in the direction to keep Ollie's nose highest at dump stations. The original double naught, Jethro Bodine on Beverly Hillbillys. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0522464/
  14. David, Beautiful installation!!!!!
  15. We have had good results on Ollie using Meguiar's #67 Marine/RV one step compound then Meguiar's Flagship Marine wax.
  16. My experiments are leading to how light can a LE2 be ready to camp with empty water tanks except for hot water heater. Looking at Lithium batteries for more efficient batteries that also happen to be lighter, too. Thanks,
  17. Richard, We have experimented more than once with a one gallon propane tank to see how long it would last. This tank will last 4 days running the refrigerator and using the stove every morning to heat water for coffee and cook eggs. During experiments high temps during the day were 76 to 80F with low temps in the 60s. We use a gen-set daily for 30 minutes to power hot water heater for showers during the experiments.
  18. John, Those would look good on Ollie. We keep Ollie on pavement 99% of the time. If we were going camping off pavement more, would seriously consider the AT3 XLT.
  19. Yep, Same plan for our Ollie, replacing original BFG Commercial with Cooper Discoverer AT3 and balancing, too!
  20. Agree, Had a set of tires installed on the Tundra at DCT Denver CO during a camping trip and they did a great job! Getting ready to replace & balance all of Ollie's tires and DCT at Denver NC will be doing the work.
  21. I did not remove our Night Stand, took that photo when someone had another question about converting a Twin model to a King model, which could also be done. The Night Stand is attached to the top of the basement fiberglass cover as seen in the above photo. The Night Stand should be able to be removed easily allowing placement a cushion in place of the Night Stand like Pat mentioned.
  22. Believe the RV market is different for Oliver Travel Trailers. When we first learned about Oliver Travel Trailers, Oliver was not building campers due to an economic slowdown. We wanted one when they were not being built and when Oliver started building the LE2 during 2015 and we wanted an LE2 eventually buying a used LE2 during 2016. We keep Ollie in good condition and it has appreciated! Even with higher fuel prices believe Oliver Travel Trailers will continue to be in demand. Since we love camping and still have plenty of places to visit and enjoy, not only is our Ollie a vehicle to explore new places, it's also an investment that appreciates.
  23. Pat, Looks like you can remove the night stand. Here's a photo of night stand from above with top removed.
  24. Installed our EZ Flex system either 2016 or 2017 on our 2015 Ollie. Not a difficult installation, but have to admit I damaged at least one of the bronze bushings during installation 😬. Grease every 6000 miles, and keep Ollie mostly on paved highways. Greased EZ flex system while camping on long trips, too.
