  1. John, Thanks, Plastic bags secured with tie wraps could work to catch grease drips. I would use new bags/tie wraps every time the grease gun is used. Will keep my grease gun in a small plastic trash can in the covered pickup bed with other camping gear while camping.
  2. I like the 14OZ cartridge grease gun with flex hose, too. Keep the gun in a plastic container because the grease drips a little out of gun when above 90F and could make a mess. Bought a 14OZ cartridge at Northern Tool two years ago, used on lawn mower and Ollie. Heading to Walmarte' tomorrow to buy another cartridge. Was not sure about grease spec until removing old cartridge tonight.
  3. Agree with Steve, That's how I lift Ollie, too. The method Overland mentioned, should work, too: https://www.amazon.com/Trailer-Aid-Tandem-Changing-Change-Trailers/dp/B000I4JPZE
  4. I should have cleaned and painted the steel mounts during EZ Flex installation. Had some oxidation on the Dexter EZ Flex/axle steel mounts. Just finished cleaning and painting parts of the steel mounts on both sides with Rust-Oleum. Greased before cleaning/painting, too. After a couple thousand miles the excess grease collects lots of dirt/dust if not cleaned off after lubrication. Plan to do a better job keeping excess grease cleaned off of springs/pins/EZ Flex unit in the future. After:
  5. Pin grease galleys are installed on the horizontal plane for the pins/bushings to take grease easily. One of the bronze bushings was still a little tight and had to take some weight off of that pin with Ollie's jack for it to take grease. After a few thousand miles of wear on the bushings, no longer need to use the jack for the pin to take grease. We're ready to go camping soon, too!!!!!!!!
  6. There are six fittings per side you can see easily including two fittings on the left & right sides of the tires not seen in this photo. There are also two additional fittings hiding above the EZ Flex assembly per side where I'm pointing, making eight fittings per side. Hope this helps,
  7. Matt, Agree, I had a free Photobucket account with one to two thousand low resolution photos uploaded. They started charging a fee last year to post on forums, so I stopped using Photobucket. Started using SmugMug with a reasonable annual fee. Thanks,
  8. Looks like anodes on both sides of Ollie's steel Dexter axle shackle bracket. I need to clean, prime & paint Ollie's steel axle shackle brackets, too.
  9. Bill, Thanks, The center section has hinges for both doors. Both doors have keyed locks using dead bolt style locking rods in pickup bed rail system. The center section has sea clamps secured on pickup bed rails, too. Remove or install all three sections in about 30 minutes. Complete cover weight of 80 pounds. Diamondback has different configurations, too: https://diamondbackcovers.com/collections/covers https://diamondbackcovers.com/collections/atv-sxs-carriers https://diamondbackcovers.com/collections/accessories
  10. Bill, Bak-Flip MX4 is an excellent cover. Assume you wanted information posted about other covers, too. Been looking over a year and decided to go with a Diamondback SE cover on our Tundra. It's not hard to remove, if needed. Used the Diamondback on a camping trip earlier this week and it works great! Some folks transport ATVs on top the cover. Our cover is rated for up to 400 pounds weight.
  11. Worked on Ollie's TV/Speaker system today. Previous to today sound would not come out of Furrion speakers by following video instructions mentioned earlier while using TV on antenna. Furrion speakers would work while watching DVD played by the Furrion unit connected to TV by HDMI cable. Started looking at back of Furrion unit and found audio inlets on back of unit did not have audio cable connected to them. Checked back of TV and audio cables were not connected to TV audio outlets, also. Used 14' of audio cable connecting TV to Furrion audio connections and followed video instructions. Now we have TV sound coming through Furrion speakers while using the TV with antenna!!!!! :) Audio inlet connected red/white audio cable to back of Furrion radio/DVD player: The bottom red, white, and yellow cables had been connected to another device, but now they are connected to the TV/Furrion units allowing another "AV" path for Furrion to connect to the TV. We have had intermittent connection issues with the HDMI cable, so it's nice to have another Furrion connection to the TV for DVD use. If red/white cables connected to TV audio outlet or Furrion audio inlet are unplugged, all sound will be lost through Furrion speakers with TV playing. My thumb is next to TV red/white audio outlet cables connected to Furrion audio inlet:
  12. Prefer a hatch under the night table, too. It's a long reach through the exterior door to basement area under the night table. That's on our list of things to install on Ollie. Thanks,
  13. Peter & Patty, Glad you started this thread. When taking photos of our table for this thread, found a small leak in need of repair, too. That will be a Saturday project. Here's photos of our stock table between twin beds: View with table top removed looking at fiberglass cover over basement storage area: View from exterior access to storage area under port bed and table: Hope this helps!
  14. We have a local cable internet system at home. Use Ooma System with cable internet for lower 48 free calling for about $5.00 per month. Had to make a one time purchase of hardware at Best Buy for around $125 for one telephone. Purchased a wireless remote from Ooma for around $50 and plugged it into a home telephone jack to make every telephone work in the house. System has been working fine since purchase for 2 or 3 years. Can also check home telephone voice messages using internet while camping.
  15. Horace and Dianne, Nice Shot! Hope to visit there during 2018.
  16. Bill, I monitor NOAA when the weather is questionable. My radio does not automatic alert feature. http://kaitoradio.com/ka350grey.html This Kaito radio has automatic weather alert: http://kaitoradio.com/emergency-radios/ka550y.html Here's all of their emergency radios: http://kaitoradio.com/emergency-radios.html
  17. Mike, Beautiful Rainbow shot!!!!!!!!! Bill, Yes, we see folks trout fishing at Stone Mountain NC and Blue Ridge Parkway is not far away, for beautiful scenic drives.
  18. Here's the small/inexpensive Kaito KA-350 radio we used for 4 years, so far. It's has hand crank power, solar charger, AM/FM, Shortwave, flashlight, and NOAA weather. Only used the headphone outlet so far, it also has USB-out & 5V-in ports.
  19. Tommy and Jason took care of issues as warranty when our Ollie was out of warranty. That was much appreciated, too. We've had a couple window leaks, the issues are now corrected. Ollie is our favorite of all campers we have owned.
  20. Here's the leak we had with rear Oliver light fixture/sign above rear window. The water traveled around exterior lens sealant into LED light fixture dripping between insulation & hull coming out at the top of the rear window. Removed and sealed rear Oliver sign/lens stopping leak where it entered hull:
  21. Reed, We had two window leaks in the Ollie. First leak was top of dinette window last year. Oliver resealed outdoor porch light fixture above window including hole where wire passes into the hull. Another leak appeared at top of rear window, too. Decided to makes repairs at home this time. Found water coming in around rear exterior Oliver sign/ LED housing above window. Appeared to be 3m 4000 marine sealant holding Oliver sign lens in place, took some time to remove old sealant. Resealed with Starbrite white marine silicone. Did not want to use 3M 4000 sealant again, used something flexible and easy to remove. Happy to report no leaks in either window after very heavy rains.
  22. Brad, Thanks for posting weights. Agree, like how Oliver balanced the Ollie. Hope you don't mind me posting our rig weights, too! We will carry up to 150 additional pounds of gear in the Tundra and 20 to 30 additional pounds of gear in the Ollie when heading out on a camping trip: Here's results for our Ollie E2/Tundra rig without water in tanks and Tundra with two souls on board over 1/2 tank of fuel (38 gallon fuel tank): Steer Axle: 3340 Pounds Drive Axle: 3200 Pounds Trailer Axles: 4480 Pounds Gross Weight: 11,020 Pounds Tundra with two souls on board with 20 additional pounds of gear and 72 additional pounds of gas compared to Tundra's weight with Ollie. Tundra was about 6088 pounds when weighed with Ollie on previous day: Steer Axle: 3560 Pounds Drive Axle: 2620 Pounds Gross Weight: 6180 Pounds Ollie weight 4932 pounds Tundra weight 6088 pounds Backed into tongue weight of 452 pounds from above weights, plan to order a tongue scale next.
