  1. Oh boy. Same year (2022 Oliver LE2) and same tire for me, and I just experienced a tire stem failure a week ago. Didn't think to ask to see the stem after the repair, to ascertain the type of failure. Also I didn't know there would be options on the type of stem to replace it with, but now I feel my other tires might be suspect. Right now, my spare (previously un-used) is still on my Oliver -- not sure if that is a good or bad thing. I will be watching your thread here for other info.
  2. I believe a few different Oliver owners have made their way to Newfoundland but I'm not sure they took the same route. If you use the google search engine (rather than the search function here on the forum) and you search "oliver travel trailer newfoundland" or similar terms, you will likely come up with some links. (I'm not sure why it works better). Here are a couple of links, including owners who have been to Newfoundland. Also, have you looked at their official road conditions map and reports? https://www.quebec511.info/en/Carte/Default.aspx
  3. The soundtrack suggests trouble ahead, and the footage does seem to suggest off-road more than off-grid. That said -- my Ollie hasn't disappointed me at all, and I've had next-to-no troubles * in terms of being able to spend weeks at a time off-grid. Of course that requires preparation and contingency plans. Having walked through creeks and stepped into holes several feet deep, I don't think I would want to ford a creek with my Oliver, unless it was an improved surface with known qualities. Still, there are lots of folks who have a bigger yearning for adventure. I think this will appeal to those who want to go whole-hog off grid and off road. Can this model go longer than my LE2's 3-4 weeks off grid? * The one exception to my 'no troubles' was a few years ago when I had a propane leak that a local North Dakota TT repair facility failed to correctly identify and fix; in that case, I was left without propane powered refrigerator, hot water, or heater for several months, out west on the road into October.
  4. Thank you for sharing local knowledge and your useful links. I hope to make it out there this year or next!
  5. Bill, I've been meaning to ask you about this. After you shared that info with me last summer, I tried to locate those products. On the Duragloss website, when I search for "923" the only result I see is "921", and similarly for "952" I only see "951". And if I search "interior detailer" I see "491".... It's as though they have switched around the product names and numbers. Can you confirm which of these are the right products? Thanks!
  6. Happy Travels -- hope to see you on the road somewhere!
  7. Great to read your thorough report. The Oliver really is a dream. Happy Trails!
  8. As a bonus to surgery, I can now squat -- that is, fully down on my haunches like a little kid. Haven't been able to do that in a while. Keep up the good work, and avoid the sock feet on slippery surfaces! Hope to see you on the road.
  9. I loved Nova Scotia and PEI -- but I wasn't pulling an Oliver, I was camping in a tent and hauling my touring bike around with me so I could ride on trails and small roads. I would recommend going to both islands, and I would allow more than a month because there is so much to see and do there. There is a lot of great history, interesting buildings, beautiful landscapes, local music and boat building. I hope you give us an update after your trip!
  10. I had total hip replacement (not knee surgery) a few years ago. After two months of dedication to my physical therapy routine, I received my surgeon's approval to take off on my summer trip. Some friends travelled tandem with their own TT to be sure I arrived safely at my destination -- 2,200 miles away. I believe the work on my Oliver helped to keep me limber and I continued with my own home therapy (mostly walking and flexibility exercises). I would encourage you to stay the course. I have no regrets! EDIT: about the sitting on the drive: I found that I needed more frequent stretch breaks. I allowed myself 11 days to drive that 2200 miles, and I moved around enough to avoid pain from sitting.
  11. Welcome to the Oliver community! I had a friend with a lawn care business who had a bunch of the bright orange traffic cones -- we set them up in a parking lot and that is where I practiced. It was worth the time to learn ahead of time.
  12. I found myself on one of those small back roads one time, a couple of years ago, and could see about 1/2 mile ahead a very low overpass. While I had my specs for my Oliver etched in my brain, I decided it was time to get out and measure, since I had never done that. Just to be sure! Everything worked out, but that narrow road condition with a low overpass and no place to turn around is not a comfortable place to find oneself.
  13. Or anyone else who has an assortment and no longer can identify what they each can do! Thank you so much!
  14. I was wondering the same thing -- @Olive2Roam
  15. Especially in the rainy season. The views sound amazing, but I probably wouldn't try to tow my Oliver through that.
  16. Love that photograph. Looks very nice!
  17. I can attest to the fact that these invasive Iguanas EAT the eggs of our NATIVE (and threatened) bird species. I'm a volunteer who monitors a rookery and it's bad news for us to have Iguanas here. I'm glad that some people eat them, as it seems less of a waste when they can be useful in that way. I have NOT tried eating them, however.
  18. Beware of Falling Iguanas in Southwest Florida!
  19. Here in the subtropics, even the Alligators think it's cold... a juvenile out of the water, sunning.
  20. The BEST corn bread is made in piping hot cast iron.
  21. Happy Winter Field Day 2026 to all Hams -- from W0AHA
  22. Returning to the Oliver Rally -- the right place to begin to learn more! Lots of Oliver owners show up and are happy to answer questions, plus the seminars. See you there.
  23. It can be scary -- but if you are prepared financially, there is nothing more glorious than the freedom to busy yourself with whatever suits your fancy every day!
