Administrators JWalmsley Posted April 25, 2018 Administrators Posted April 25, 2018 If noticed some members on the forum have colored maps in their signatures. You may be asking yourself "How do you do that?". Start by visiting this website: http://visitedstatesmap.com Select the states you have visited and choose the size you wish and click DRAW MAP. *Please be considerate to others views on the forums by keeping the image around medium size* Next you will be taken to a new page and underneath the map where it says "Copy and Paste Image URL:" Copy the url, for example mine is: http://visitedstatesmap.com/image/xlg.jpg - this is not your map unless you have been to zero states. This is an example. Now go to your forum Signature to edit and put in the url: It should now look like: If you need help please discuss below. The reason I did that is because if I did not add that the website would pick it up as code and display an image instead of the actual code you need. There is an image below the post with how the code should look :) 2 Full Stack Developer/Marketing @ Oliver Companies Oliver Forums Guidelines & Rules

donthompson Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 Jason, I tried to update my map and of course I've failed again. I always waste 1-2 hours messing with this and give up. Here's what my signature looks like now. Administrators JWalmsley Posted August 31, 2018 Author Administrators Posted August 31, 2018 Ok the problem I found is that the image you are trying to use does not exist on their website. I put in the url https://visitedstatesmap.com/image/ALCOGAILIAKSMNMSMOMTNENMNCNDOKSCSDTNTXUTWY/med.jpg and I get a 404 error, which means it doesn't exist. Instead, try recreating your map and then use the new url it gives you. If you need help I am here :). Full Stack Developer/Marketing @ Oliver Companies Oliver Forums Guidelines & Rules
Spike Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 Testing. Onward through the Fog! EarthPicks of Cochise County
Spike Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 From what I see on my post above, I seem to have succeeded. However, instead of copying the URL, I just copied the map itself. Does it appear the way it should regardless of the method? (That blank spot above Arizona will be filled in this month.) Thanks, Jason. 3 Onward through the Fog! EarthPicks of Cochise County

Moderators SeaDawg Posted September 17, 2018 Moderators Posted September 17, 2018 So, I did this again, as my map was out of date anyway... I went to visitedstatesmap.com. Click on some states, and color the map. I chose the smallest size. Click on copy and paste the url. Then, copy. Go to your profile. Click on settings. Then, click on edit profile and arrow down to signature. DON'T CLICK ON LINK. JUST PASTE THE URL YOU JUST COPIED FROM THE MAP WEBSITE. Accept and close. Hope this helps. Ray and Susan Huff Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 I thought I read, somewhere, that the map should only reflect where you've been in your Oliver. Is this correct? If yes, I need to edit mine as we don't have our Oliver yet 😉 Ray and Susan Huff Elite II Twin "Pearl" - Hull#699; delivered December 7, 2020 2013 F350 6.7l diesel Super Duty 4x4 long bed crew cab 1UP-USA Heavy-duty bike rack 2017 Leisure Travel Van Unity Twin Bed (sold)
Moderators Mike and Carol Posted September 9, 2020 Moderators Posted September 9, 2020 There’s no real rule on the map. Most of us only count states we’ve camped in at least over night in our Oliver. Just passing through a state doesn’t count. Mike 1 Texas Hill Country | 2016 Elite II #135 | 2020 Ram 2500 6.7L
ShallowGal Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 Can signatures only be updated via a pc? I can't find the edit signature option on my account page on my android phone. Thx! Chris Chris & Duke Chadwell 🐾Maddie & Baxter🐾 Elite II Hull 292 2022 F-250 Lariat 7.3 Godzilla 4x4 Lakeland,FL

Overland Posted March 28, 2021 Posted March 28, 2021 (edited) As a reminder, please be considerate and do not choose a map size larger than medium. Actually, because so many people view the site from their phone, the smallest size is preferable, and is perfectly viewable. Some of the maps I'm seeing lately are literally the size of an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper on my monitor. We all like seeing where you've been, but no one is *that* interested. The pull down menu to choose your map size is located right above the button to create your map. Edited March 28, 2021 by Overland 2

Moderators SeaDawg Posted March 29, 2021 Moderators Posted March 29, 2021 There is also feature to turn off all signature info. Alternatively, I took my maps off my signature because they were so big. I'm not sure if anyone cares that I've camped in 48 contiguous states, Alaska, and most of Canada, etc. 1 1 2008 Ram 1500 4 × 4 2008 Oliver Elite, Hull #12 Florida and Western North Carolina, or wherever the truck goes.... 400 watts solar.
