We get so many compliments on these solar lights, they are so realistic and bright!! We’ve had ours 2 years and they are still going strong!

Looks good.  How big is the clam?  Who makes it?

Note that the larger CLAM's such as the one in Katjo's video above will not fit in the closet of the Ollie.  They must be stored either in the tow vehicle or someplace else in the Oliver (i.e. the aisle, the bath, the bed, etc.)

The smaller version like THIS one will fit inside the Oliver closet (folded up of course).

Good info, thanks Topgun2.

Size reference: We have a short bed Ram 1500 and the 11.5 X 11.5 fits easily in the bed of the truck.

I’m not familiar with the specs on your short bed Ram 1500. We have that same size Clam and it would not fit in our 5-1/2 foot short bed 2014 GMC Sierra unless it was loaded diagonally. The standard length of our 2017 Silverado 2500 and the 2022 Silverado 3500 bed is 6-1/2 feet and the Clam fits fine placed lengthwise.

Yes, we do have to put it diagonally when we put it in the truck bed. We have also put it inside the camper. Either way it fits with no problem.👍🏼

I never camp without Thermacell! Mosquitos love me (feeling is not mutual) I have 2 of these Thermacells, a rechargeable and a patio version. They work so well that I use them at home too.

What do you use to keep mosquitos away?

Came here to post "thermacell", saw your post, don't need to 🙂

2 covers the two of us comfortably at a picnic table.

We live in the middle of the swamp, so use em at home alot as well.

, the benadryl children  has worked great for at least 10 of us for bites.

Adding another to the list, for certain bites: Ivarest. Made for poison ivy, but really calmed down my double bites from a yellow jacket.  The key is to let it dry, and cover with a bandaid, , if clothes will rub it off. Or, leave it open, when dry, if clothes won't rub it off. It's calamine, generic 2% benadryl, and benzol alcohol. Very pink. Cover the area til you can't see through it.

Got the bites three days ago. No issue at all, now. The stings weren't as bad as the crazy itch. I "iced" as well, first day a few times, with a cold patch, to keep the venom from spreading.

I had it in the locker for our friend who has a lot of issues with poison ivy. Glad I had it.

A other annoying big welt from a bug bite today. Ivarest to the rescue.

I think I'll try the much cheaper calamine next time, first.

We've been bringing this stuff along ever since our trip from NM to Key West in 2018.

image.thumb.jpeg.519e36a8598042863f2b0d20f83187df.jpeg

We were staying a few nights in Grassy Key and the flying/biting bugs were awful - they gravitate toward me more than D, so I was already enjoying a couple weeks-worth of lumps.  HA!  Bought a couple cheapo box fans from WalMart and set them up on our "patio" to sit in front of...  A local couple came by and said they liked our fan arrangement but to get some "Bug Soother" - so we did.  For us it works great and we've got at least a couple spray bottles living in the bathroom overhead storage.  D buys it by the gallon from Amazon...

Haven't tried it in Alaska yet, seems like the go-to stuff up there is a high percentage DEET spray!  Ugh...

One handy accessory that I made is a bag to hold plastic grocery bags to use for trash.  It hangs from a hook that we installed high up in the closet.

We use the cube style boxes from kleenex expressions tissues for our grocery bags.  They get stored in the upper cabinets at the back curved section of the roof line.  I start the summer with three full ones and add used ones every shopping visit.
