John and Jodi Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 These three keys were on our camper key ring. #1 is used for locking/unlocking the external compartments (basement and batteries). #2 and #3 are mysteries to us. We'd appreciate any help. John and Jodi San Antonio, TX 2022 Elite II - Hull #1126 being pulled by a 2022 F-150 Powerboost. hgreen Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 #2 is a cotter pin which Oliver gives to you as a spare. I want to say it is for something to do with the hitch setup but not sure. I would assume #3 is the door key. 2 2022 Elite II, Hull #1271 Picked up 10/12/22 2021 FX4 Expedition, Heavy tow package, Anderson Hitch.

I want to say it is for something to do with the hitch setup Correct, #2 secures the latch on the Bulldog hitch to keep it from unwanted opening. I keep it as a spare, I use a small hitch pin which is easier to use and more secure. Key #3 looks like it might be a door key. Do you have the electronic lock? That key might be the one to open it if batteries go dead. Just a guess, I don’t have the electronic lock on the door. 2 “Ramble” - 2021 Legacy Elite II #797; 2020 Ford F-250
John and Jodi Posted February 17, 2023 Author Posted February 17, 2023 We have the electric lock door which has a remote and key identified by the brand, RVLock, so I don't think it's the door key, but, I admit, I didn't try it. Our Bulldog hitch has a hitch pin to keep it's lever secure. However, the pin we use to secure the Anderson weight distribution hitch uses a cotter pin for security....Hmmm, that could be it for #2. Moderator+ ScubaRx Posted February 17, 2023 Moderator+ Posted February 17, 2023 I believe the #3 key is to the lock on the super secret hidey hole. You will be told its location after six months of ownership. 😂🤣😂🤣 7 1 Steve, Tali and our dog Rocky plus our beloved dogs Storm, Lucy, Maggie and Reacher (all waiting at the Rainbow Bridge) 2008 Legacy Elite I - Outlaw Oliver, Hull #026 | 2014 Legacy Elite II - Outlaw Oliver, Hull #050 | 2022 Silverado High Country 3500HD SRW Diesel 4x4

Steve Morris Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 As an aside, while the cotter pin or locking pin are fine for travelling, don't rely on that locking pin for security. Simply cutting the thin-gauge wire clip will allow the hitch to be opened. Per several posts on this forum, I've purchased "The Collar" hitch for the Bulldog coupling on our in-process Oliver. 2 ----- Steve - Northern Ohio, USA Wandering around on occasion, always lost. 2021 Toyota Land Cruiser - 2023 Oliver Elite II Twin Hull #1360 “Curiosity” Facebook - Instagram Camped in Curiosity = Green —— Visited with Curiosity = Gray

Even for those times - while on the road - I "lock" the bulldog with something like THIS. Steve Morris is correct that these are fairly easy to defeat as is simply using wire/bolt cutters to cut that fairly thin "wire" that holds/operates the sliding collar, but, it does keep the "casual" kid from opening your bulldog while at a rest stop or having lunch in a place. No, but I recognize the locking pin as the mechanism we use to secure our propane tanks. Didn't even look in there. Mysteries solved and got a few good tips on securing the Bulldog hitch. Thank you community! One other takeaway is that I can put the cotter pin in with my other spare parts (fuses, etc). It doesn't need to be on the keyring. 1 John and Jodi San Antonio, TX 2022 Elite II - Hull #1126 being pulled by a 2022 F-150 Powerboost.
