Ours keeps most of the water out and gives us a dry area by the door under the awning for an entry. It's nice not having streams of water raining off of the roof on us and that's its basic purpose for what it is and it has worked good so far. In light rain it works fine and we haven't had it out in any real heavy rains yet.3 points

It was a good idea, but I found the dry southwestern air can dry it out and cause it to crack pretty bad. So mine has been totally removed and now I have about an inch between the Ollie and the Fiamma. It is much easier to keep clean and polished this way. I primarily use the awning to control the sun's heat on the side of the trailer. I might sit outside during a gentle sprinkle but when the frogs are choking, I head inside and a lack of the rubber strip is not important.2 points

There appears to be many different kinds of vehicles out there towing Ollies. I'm curious about what you're using and what did you upgrade from and why?1 point

Could not find the previous thread on this topic, so starting a new one. Some were having issues with the upper doors popping open while underway, and at the time I wasn't having any issues with mine. Until the last trip. One of the hinges came completely undone. You can see from the picture that there is one small screw holding each hinge to the cabinet door. The screw does not grip the door with very many threads at all. If it comes loose, the door will come out of adjustment and will either not close properly, or will close and pop open. In my case, the screw came completely out and the door was hanging by the single screw on the other hinge. I think a simple fix for this would be for Oliver to apply Loctite on the screw when they at doing the final adjustment to the doors during the install. For those awaiting there new delivery, it might be a worthwhile ask of Jason to follow up on.1 point

The Commodore and the whole town of Linden was quiet. We parked right out front, slept great, the bed was just a touch stiff, and there's plenty of restaurants on the way. It made for an easy half hour drive to the factory. Lots of history in the area. Anita set us up with the Commodore. No bed bugs, no problems.1 point

I have the P3 and it works great. I had mine installed inside the center console below the arm rest hatch. So it's easy to get to anytime on or off road by just flipping open the armrest door. This way it's out of sight but still totally accessible.1 point

We stayed at the Fall Hollow Bed and Breakfast but we had our Shih Tzu and found out after the fact....dogs were not allowed. He didn't kick us out (it was late). His breakfast was good. We have also stayed at The Commodore when we had some work done on the Ollie. We enjoyed it. It was clean and quaint. They allow pets. Not sure the price, Oliver paid the same bill.1 point

Here's the Tekonsha Prodgey P3 Brake Controller link at E-Trailer. We have a Toyota factory controller in our 2016 Tundra, many people like the P3 controller. This link should have the plug and play cable included, too. The folks at E-Trailer are very helpful when you have questions about installing the brake controller. https://www.etrailer.com/multi-product.aspx?pc1=90195&pc2=3017-P&hhmake=Toyota&hhmodel=Tundra&hhyear=2015&vehicleid=201528688&hunter=bc Hope this helps!1 point

It should be dead simple, plug and play, if you buy the Tekonsha Toyota adapter harness. Definitely pick a spot away from your knees. In the event of a collision it will rip open your leg otherwise. The P3 needs to be aligned parallel to the centerline of the truck, but it does NOT need to be horizontal, like the older units. It is a great controller for the price, and thus very popular. Shop around since prices vary wildly. You also need this tester. It is the only device that will functionally test your electronic controller without having a trailer attached, a great investment for peace of mind that your truck is ready to tow. ... https://www.amazon.com/Tekonsha-6562-Trailer-Emulator-Display/dp/B004BCA9B8 John Davies Spokane WA1 point

If your Tundra is 2015 or earlier here's a Tekonsha P3 installation on a Tundra Forum. Many Tundra owners like the P3 better than the factory installed controller on 2016 and later 5.7L Tundras. https://www.tundras.com/threads/brake-controller-installation.12131/#post-222777 Hope this helps!1 point

We towed our Bigfoot with a Tundra and I think our controller was a Prodgey. Don't remember the model number but it worked well. My best advice regardless of the controller you choose is not to let them mount it where it will interfer with your driving. They mounted ours on the lower right side of the driverside below the steering wheel. I am short and have to sit close to the steering wheel. I could not comfotably drive my husbands truck after the controller was installed because I kept hitting my knee on it! Yvonne1 point

We stayed at the Natchez Hills Winery B&B. They have two small buildings, one is a real 1800's log cabin, which is where we stayed. Breakfast is served in the owners home. It was very nice. Amber Falls Winery also has some lodging that we noticed during a visit there. We also stayed in the Fall Hollow B&B for two nights. Very basic, but clean and convenient. The breakfast that is provided is so good we weren't hungry until late afternoon. Mike1 point

We ended up staying Thursday night at the Commodore Inn in Linden because our camper had a problem that took awhile to troubleshoot and fix. Our suite was clean and confortable. It had a kitchenette and they allowed our pups. Don't know the price, Oliver paid for our stay.1 point

Dave, I found the same thing when I was doing some cleaning last week before we left on our "Rally Trip". It was a real pain cleaning the collected debris off of the gasket. During heavy rain that gasket does not stop water flow. The water flows under the awning and over the gasket. I'm not sure what its purpose is. I may do what Pete did and just remove it. Mike1 point

I've always wondered why Oliver uses that gasket instead of one of the Fiamma ones I see on their website. I wonder if none of them fit correctly for some reason.1 point

Dave, is the new gasket below the awning? On our older trailer, it's above, I can't see it, and spits don't bother me (much). Sherry1 point

We stayed at there Fall Hollow rooms, once when the original owners had it and once when the present owners bought it. The last time they let us have the run of the kitchen to heat our dinner that we brought along. I think this was right after they bought it and the restaurant was not open yet. A good place to stay in my book. Stan1 point

Howenwald, for a small town, is very hospitable, and we think, quite fun. We've stayed in the "hotel" style room at Fall Hollow, and it was clean, quiet, and nice linens. These are at the back of the restaurant. The house is pretty, and back in the woods. Price is higher, and not available when we stayed, but I have to tell you, Neil makes a great breakfast, included in the price. And, I'm not a breakfast lover... The couple who now own fall hollow are really nice, engaging people, and he is an awesome cook. We've stayed at the brick motel in town once. Not too noisy, bed was ok, but nothing special. The other motel, from what I have heard, is a bit run down, if still open, but accepted pets.... Ask Anita about the cabin on the Buffalo river. She may know someone there. Sherry1 point

We have stayed at Fall Hollow several times. Nothing real fancy but great folks, nice clean rooms which come with a full breakfast. The restaurant is open Thursday, Friday, Saturday for dinner and Sunday lunch till about 3:00. Great steaks and probably one of the best hamburgers that I have had! Everything else is very good as well. This is the campground that Oliver will set you up in for one night. We stayed a week to fully check out our new Oliver. This is our first ever camper so more for us to get used to and understand it than anything else. Only had one insignificant adjustment on our way out of town.1 point

We stayed at the Commodore in Linden when we visited the factory last fall. Funky & fun. Where else can you take a pic beside a bigger than life bronze statue of Minnie Pearl? Just down the block is a shop that sells good organic sandwiches and, just in case you are low, ammunition. SailorsAshore1 point

I'll second ScubaRx's comments regarding the motel in Hohenwald. The beds are not too bad and it was fairly quiet. The last time we were at Fall Hollow they didn't have our reservation and there was no room. However, even though we didn't eat there it sure did smell good. But, I don't think that they are open for meals on Sunday's and Monday's. Have a safe trip and we look forward to all those photos. Bill1 point

Fall Hollow Campground also has a B&B and I know Buzzy stayed there when he picked up his Ollie. You might PM him about it. The restaurant is quite good I thought.1 point

The Commodore may be your best bet. We stayed there one night several years back for some reason or other. Believe it was about $90 or so. It is a very old downtown hotel. It was clean, quaint, quiet and about 30 something miles from the Oliver factory . The motel in Hohenwald is very basic but there is nothing wrong with it although it will still cost you $60 or $70. I guess it depends on which is more important, price or distance.1 point

I ran into the same dilemma when I brought my Ollie to the factory for an upgrade..... the options are few and far between- I didn't even venture into the parking lot of the options in Hoenwald. I ended up picking the Commodore Inn in Linden, about 1/2 hour west of the factory, based on the reviews on Trip Advisor. It was clean, but VERY dated, and kind of like staying in the spare bedroom of that very first fixer upper house you bought when you were younger...????.1 point

Well we are at Oliver picking up our new baby and I promised to post some pictures of the new bike rack design. It looks great snd very sturdy but we havent gotten to test it yet. There is some problem with the satellite and they have been working on it since noon Thursday. Oliver put us up inna hotel last night. I hope we get to stay in our camper tonight. Glad we booked extra day at Fall Hallow.1 point
