  1. @John E Davies That 3M cleaner is the best. It did not take much elbow grease, time, nor cleaner to complete the rear area, rims, and fenders. I doubt I even used 1/4 of the can. I spends less than an hour. Amazing stuff, but must use it outside, in a breeze, with a fan. LOL The marks on the clean pics are pits from road debris. I can see black Rhino-liner in the future for the lower portion of the hull. Q: Has anyone protected the lower hull with Rhino-Liner like material? Would like to see pics of that. #110 is coming back to life. I'm thinking of these next few weeks as Wayfinder is in dry-dock for repairs and clean up, which basically, it is. Great weather here in GA this week. Here are some before and after shots. Thanks a bunch, again! The starboard side not nearly as bad.

  3. I just put on this material on the entry way lights, on the LE-II 2016. Real simple. The material is quite thick and rubbery with one sticky side. The directions said it was forgiving to move around a few times, and not to touch sticky side, duh. I put it on at night, not a great idea, BLINDING. But, the bugs that were there when I started, seemed not so interested in the lights after application of material. At least the GA bugs. I chose the Amber (orange) color. It is NOT too orange with the light on. It's a subtle change (not a drastic orange glow at all). Quite nice. I "might" have had enough to do all four thin lights on the LE-II, but I would have had to cut VERY precisely. There is not a lot of material. I only wanted to cover the entry lights anyway. https://www.sailorsams.com/ITC-RV-LED-Porch-Light_p_14885.html Lamin-x One 4 inch x 8 inch Universal Film Cover (Color : Amber)

  4. Wayfinder, I had XPEL 10 mil paint protection installed on the quarter panel locations you show above. It really helps protect those very vulnerable areas. I also had it applied to the front and left corners and the “dog house” or propane storage area. Nice job cleaning up those areas! Patriot

  5. I installed the 500amp version of the Victron Shunt and they are everywhere for about $130.00. They are effectively 300amp units if you read the fine print. The Bluetooth is not a problem on this version. I actually connected the other terminal to monitor my parallel string of 6 volt AGM batteries so that I always know how each pair are performing.

  8. There have been a number of Ollies given a "treatment" of "stuff" other than gel-coat. Bugeyedriver here on the Forum is one that comes to mind and he fully described the process - try a search of his posts. There is another that did the black truck bed coating on a fair amount of the front. I initially thought that it would look bad but when I saw it in person it actually had a reasonable look to it. Unfortunately I can't put my finger on a pic of it at the moment. Bill

  9. We’ve been using a water softener with our Oliver for about 4 years. My post above from Dec 2020 has details. You can find a selection of portable RV softeners on Amazon, where we got both of ours. Softened water may not be for everyone, but we’re used to softened water at home and it’s nice to have the same experience while traveling. Mike

  10. Well, the new water pump arrived before the new part for the old pump. The pump works like a champ. It took a while to get the air out of the lines, but finally succeeded. More basic maintenance to come in preparation for Winter camping, in NC. 11. Congratulations! We picked up #12 in February, 2008. Just the beginning of 14 seasons, and counting, of travels and fun with our Oliver. Hoping you, too, enjoy many years of fun with yours.

  12. It's official. Rivian is the first all electric truck in the US. First customer launch edition rolled off the assembly line this month. https://techcrunch.com/2021/09/14/rivians-first-production-r1t-electric-pickup-truck-rolls-off-the-line/

  13. I find the cables a PITA to attach to my F-150 due to their tension and interference with the Anderson system. Frankly, I would swap the OEM Ollie curly cables for some DOT rated yellow chains in a flash. However the PITA they are, is not yet very high on the improvements list. But, before changing hooks, I would fix the latch hook. It's a lot less expensive.

  16. On all of the RV's I owned prior to getting my Ollie, I had chains. Hopefully I never have to go back to the "chain side". The cables are up and out of the way both while parked (unhitched) and while underway. They are cleaner too. What's not to like? Bill

  18. LOL Shallow Gal, you may be advertising the wrong message! 😘 Sorry, could not help myself. Now back to the real question, where did you find the amber tape?

  19. Yes to your first question and I'm not sure on the second but I suspect that the problem did apply to both models. Bill

  20. Fritz, I am 6’3” and have no problems sleeping in the curbside twin. I haven’t tried the street side as my wife sleeps there. I have tried in both directions and prefer the head to the rear especially since our 40lbs dog spends about 40 percent of the nights on my side.

  21. 6'3". 295#. The twin works fine for me. I sleep with my head to the front which gives me room to hang over a foot if I need to. Shoulder room has not been an issue. sometimes I turn to face the side and bend my knees. The first night or two I did have a little adjustment but I compare this the same as getting a new mattress. After about 12 nights total I do not even think about it. I have not tried sleeping with my feet at the rear yet. Maybe I will try that sometime but I like my head near the end I use a CPAP and I put the machine in the top cabinet and the hose just hangs down with the door left open. This set up seems to work. 22. At 5’10” and sleepng feet to the rear, I find the length OK, the width is more bothersome since there is no room to just roll over. (The mattresses are not regular Twin sized, but Bunk sized - 30 inches.) You must lift your body and reposition.... At your height it would really be best to test one in person. If you buy a Two Bed trailer and find out you don’t sleep well, that would be very upsetting. A King would without a doubt give tons more room and sleeping comfort. Also you need to see if you can live with whacking your head in the head.... especially when using the toilet. I showed Mouse to a couple who really liked the design, but the severe lack of headroom was a 100% deal breaker for the husband who was 6’6”. The entry opening to the head is a low head knocker, as is the main entry, but at least the latter is well padded. The metal head door frame can be painful... Try before you buy! 23. Fritz - I'm only 6' even so I'm perhaps not the person that can best answer your question based on length. I do have plenty of room at both the top and bottom. However, I can say that I originally started sleeping with my head towards the rear of the camper (at the rounded corner end) but changed to sleep in the other direction. I like to sleep with elbows out near my head. This caused me to bang one or the other elbow on either the nightstand or on the rounded corner. Once I flipped direction there have been no further issues. Bill
