I will be in a group of three Oliver's arriving together in late January or early February. We will all be at the Dome Rock area.5 points

We spent part of this past October in Cumberland Mountain State Park, just outside of Crossville, TN. There are 5 camping areas, we started in area 4 but moved to area 5 after one night. Area 5 is at the top of the hill and is a newer area. There are 4 or 5 FHU sites in area 5. We had W/E. Our site in area 4. Older, lots of trees and shade. Our site in area 5. Nicely spaced with a view of the sky! Campground chef. Checking out the fall color.5 points

These couplers are heavy duty forged steel and I see no way for one to bend without any other signs of damage. The big coupler is rated for 12’,500 pounds! You need more info from Service. What exactly is damaged? The hinged door or its pin? The only way that could happen is if you towed with the door open (not latched). Maybe the manufacturer should get involved. I am sure they would want to know about any faults. IMHO you would see the ball snap clean off before the coupler failed. Good luck. John Davies Spokane WA4 points

Well, she may be a "vintage" Oliver Elite with almost 140,000 miles, but she's had a NEW upgrade to her list of many, many improvements over the years. Following ScubaRX's template from 2017, with some minor modifications, the old tired drum brakes have been retired to the history bin and have been replaced with disk brakes. Woohooooooo . . . Took her for a test run today and I'm very pleased with the result. If anyone is near San Antonio and desires the same modification (5200 lb axles required) contact Ron at Boerne RV - Eight 30 - 8 one 6 - 388 three and he will take good care of you.3 points

After talking to the people I bought the batteries from, I learned that I didn't put it back together as it had been, despite my efforts to be careful to note how the originals had been wired. I connected positive to positive (parallel, 6V system), when I should have connected positive to negative to create a 12V system in series. Thank you all for your help. I will correct this when I get home from work tonight, and let you know if all is well after making this change.3 points

The area called Dome Rock is about 4 miles due West of Quartzsite. It is a mile or so South of I-10 (you can see it in the distance.) This is where we'll all be camped. You're actually closer to Quartzsite coming from Oregon than we are coming from Mississippi. You should plan on coming down. We usually go over to Death Valley NP and/or Joshua Tree for a few days. It's actually pretty pleasant (temperature wise) that time of the year.2 points

Thank you John. Those are encouraging words to us because we thought the same thing. Service asked us if anything had happened because we removed our storage basket. We have removed the storage basket because it interfered with our truck’s backup-assist camera’s functioning. We are waiting to hear from the Oliver Service Department Manager after he looks more closely into the matter.2 points

Yes, Dome Rock is the spot. If you exit I-10 where the Love’s is and then continue on the access road west on the south side of the freeway a few miles you’ll get to the Dome Rock area. It’s a big chunk of desert but easy to drive around looking for other Oliver owners. We’ll be in Arizona in January as well, not sure if/when we might visit Quartzsite. There should also be a bunch of other fiberglass trailers there as well. I’ll post a few pics so you can get an idea of the area. Mike2 points

@Steve and Deb ok, sounds good. We are stopping by the Oliver plant on Friday. Let me know if there is anything you might need me to measure on the 2023 model. We will be measuring and taking pictures. BL2 points

I went out this morning to scrape off a dusting of new snow…… what did I find? Hmmmm. Not your normal vehicle, skinny tires, narrow track, and the driver goes in at out over the right front tire. https://japancardirect.com/blog/what-is-the-best-kei-truck-to-export-from-japan-part-4/ Sure enough, there was a package on the porch. I added this info to your Signature. It's under where you Edit your profile. Feel free to change it to whatever you desire.1 point

Assuming all the cable connections are in there original positions relative to one another, the battery on the left needs to be turned around.1 point

Looks to me like two 6 volts wired in parallel with no positive load connection.1 point

Your AGM batteries can be checked for proper charge while connected to your Oliver. I assume they are 12-volt batteries. Place the red lead from a voltmeter on the positive terminal and the black lead on the negative terminal. If using a multimeter, ensure that it is set to read "DC Volts." It should read around 12.6V. If not, one or both may be defective. In that case, I would disconnect the batteries from the trailer and test them individually. If either battery separately reads less than 12.6V, I would connect a good quality battery charger that has an "AGM" mode to one of them and let it charge overnight, then re-read the voltage. Repeat with the other battery. If you can't get either battery to hold a charge of about 12.6V, with no loads connected, it is defective. The reasonably-priced NOCO Genius 5 charger linked below has an AGM mode. https://www.amazon.com/NOCO-GENIUS5-Fully-Automatic-Temperature-Compensation/dp/B07W8KJH44/ref=asc_df_B07W8KJH44/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=385121954544&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=3750609399406645391&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9029558&hvtargid=pla-1041741797992&psc=1&tag=&ref=&adgrpid=76842158285&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvadid=385121954544&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=3750609399406645391&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9029558&hvtargid=pla-1041741797992 Good luck!1 point

Just what in the world is all that white stuff? No wonder you don't want to move your Ollie from its cozy garage! Bill1 point

Have a good time at the Mothership! Take plenty of pics and say "Hi" to everyone for me. Bill p.s. it looks like your weather should be very nice in Hohenwald too.1 point

PS be sure to check the voltage going to the trailer.... just to make sure you have all the cables connected properly. If there was even a nano second of oops spark, likely the breaker saw more than 300 amps and pop. Good news is that the breaker is fast enough that likely you did no damage. But if it tripped, do not reset until you figure out how a + got to a - to do so..... before resetting the breaker.1 point

Please do keep us posted. This is something I've never heard of, in fifteen years.1 point

Could the coupler have been damaged before you installed it? I've heard of hitches getting damaged in shipment, even big fifth wheel hitches.1 point

My husband installed the upgraded hitch under Oliver’s instruction. The new one was installed with new bolts at 80 ft. lbs. Thoughts?1 point

Your Bulldog hitch is bent? Are you able to hitch without much effort? Have you noticed anything odd looking? We have the standard 2” Bulldog and have been over lots of bumpy roads and way-to-large potholes and everything is fine. This is the first time I’ve heard of a bent hitch. What does service think might have happened?1 point

Yes! We are shocked. We have noticed nothing peculiar. It is a Bulldog hitch and we upgraded to the new larger size for extra peace of mind. They say the coupler is bent. We are waiting to hear from service again. Service advisor suspected some sort of impact but we have had zero incidents or problems. Hooking up has been a breeze as well. 🤷♀️0 points
