Based on how light and compact the Mini is, I wont be considering a permanent mount. The main reason is if I am parked where there are any obstructions I will have to move the mini to a northern unobstructed view for a solid satellite connection. Now this is just based on our experience so far on this trip. The SL mini has a reported latency of 23 milliseconds according to SpaceX. We have not used it for any zoom meetings, but we did stream the entire Presidential debate last night without any interruption issues. I am going to keep it simple and deploy it from its carrying case. So far we are very pleased with the mini and it is serving our needs perfectly. One thing we have both noticed and really like is that it connects instantly to our (4) devices after plugging in the dish. Perfect! Onward!4 points

Just for reference. I have used the mini for many Zoom meetings, including 2 simultaneously, worked great with no issues.2 points

@Ronbrink SDG recommended not to use any kind of sealant between the foam and fiberglass except a small bead of Dicor around the edge of fiberglass cut-out before lowering the unit. They emphasized not to use any kind of Dicor tape and to use minimal sealant that the adhesive foam was sufficient. Good luck with install.1 point

Yeah, I guess I'm going to have to tackle this project to be sure the vent pipe is attached. I wasn't looking forward to tearing it apart but I guess it will be more accessible for a variety of other things that could come up. I'm considering using plus nuts and white thumb screws to make it easy to open up in the future. I appreciate the offer for the gasket material! We'll chat this weekend!1 point

A few pics of Arches and Canyonland NPs. This time of the year it is best to get your time entry permit for as early in the morning as possible. The temps with the extreme low humidity made it really comfortable on our hikes in both parks. Spectacular view and vistas for sure. Free entry with the America the Beautiful pass. 😊🇺🇸🇺🇸 The visitor center at Arches…we got there early. The parking lot was slammed when we departed and headed to Canyon Lands. Our F250 gets 13-14 mph while towing our LE2. Mileage is very speed dependent.1 point

Totally agree with @Mike and Carol on mpgs. That said we are very happy with our F350 6.7 diesel with safety, comfort, towing, great cargo capacity and ridiculous power and torque. We only have 30k on our TV. We own a smaller Ford Ranger that we use daily for running errands when at home. Our F350 is mainly for travel and towing. Empty and not towing I get about 19-20 mpgs. Our average towing on the flats we average 15.9 mpgs. This of course changes when we hit the mountains. But I know our mpgs are much better than our former half ton Tundra with the 5.7 V8. We sold the Tundra as it just did not have the power, braking and mainly cargo capacity we needed. One thing worthy of note we have noticed out west in some of the mountain passes Law Enforcement will do brake checks on 1/2 ton vehicles towing campers. They use a heat gun and determine if you need to pull over to designated parking areas so that your brakes can cool. With our one ton diesel we were waved through and no check. Best of luck with your choice for a new TV!1 point

MPG will, of course, will depend on how and where you drive. My Ram has a 6.7L inline six, a little different than the Ford V8. I get about 18 mpg around town not towing. A little over 20 mpg just highway. Towing on level highways I get a little over 15 mpg at 65 mph. I’ll do 70 on I-10 going west from San Antonio and I’ll get 13/14 mpg. In the mountains it drops to 11 or 12. I’ve got about 75K miles on this truck, half of it towing. Mike1 point

@Patriot - Glad to see you've got the mini SL up and operational. We knew y'all would love it! FYI: Headed up the spine of the Rockies in a week for the annual MC ride - first stop is at Soldier's Stone monument near Saguache, CO 163 miles north east of South Fork. It's adjacent to the Continental Divide Trail and accessible from a nearby parking area. Very moving monument, worth the "look-see." Soldier's Stone is a monument dedicated to all those who died during the VN War from over a dozen nations from the mid-50s to 1975. Well worth the visit, IMO...1 point

This subject is of great interest to me as I am located in in Western Washington State. Hohenwald is a l-o-n-g way from me, and I am having some issues with a recent swap of the Penguin to FreshJet3 A/C's. For those who have an interest, Bretz RV in Liberty Lake, Washington still does not have a functional service department. Their Missoula, MT location does have a service department, but it has NO ONE there who has been trained by Oliver (on site or back at Hohenwald). Due to distance, I decided not to call Bretz at Nampa/Boise, ID. The whole concept of "distributed Oliver sales and service" will eventually depend on Oliver owners having confidence in the ability of their local "Joe's RV" not only being able to sell them an Oliver, but also be qualified to maintain it. (For a $110K trailer, that confidence will make or break a sales decision.) At this point, those of us in Washington State are seeing little reason to be confident of any of that.1 point

@Ronbrink My PII was a 13.5k. The performance of the new unit has been great. I have been pleased with the new functions like the Auto feature. It has been great for when it is parked not in use. It automatically keeps the 75-80 range depending on outside ambient temperature. I wish there was some adjustment but it is completely automatic. The good thing is that while in storage the unit does turn completely off at times including the fan in AUTO mode. I really like the ability to dump the air straight down over the bed area or switch to the vents. Vent oscillation is a nice touch, you can feel a nice breeze when you are sitting at the dinette. Of course, you can turn it off as well. Still haven’t played with the sleep mode or dehumidification mode. Here in TN it has been very humid and hot with no issues of increased humidity inside. Staying in the 40-60% range. As far as efficiency, it is at least 30-40% sometimes 50% better than the Dometic PII 13.5k. 75 vs 150 amps 10 decimals quieter than the Dometic. Probably the best feature outside of efficiency. The remote, app and panel control work great. Condensate drains off the road side if you tilt the trailer a bit when parked. Between the unit and new Alcan springs the trailer is about 2 in. taller. All in all, very happy with the new Atmos. I think you are going to enjoy it. Let us know what you think after installation. Best, Mike1 point

Lots of good spots here but honestly having stayed at Sand Hollow in the past this is one I would cross it off the list as a waste of time. There are much better places in the SW or even SW Utah than Sand Hollow. I would also encourage while exploring those popular areas to get off the beaten track and venture into many of the awesome BLM areas of the SW that are every bit the equal to the National Parks and Monuments but without the crowds or fame. Regardless have a great trip.1 point

I have 3 weeks off and besides maintaining the home front, I'm spending half of my time on the Oliver, and 3 times a week some pickleball diversion! The main mods are improving furnace ducts, an oven to replace the microwave, an ATS for future running the A/C off inverter and what else... renewing the entry steps, but for now it's just a simple mod for less than $20! I really needed one for the bathroom, but glad to have purchased set of two. I looked and measured and could not think of another bathroom location. BTW, this fits nicely allowing a 1" clearance for the bathroom cabinet door. Then it made sense to add one at the kitchen sink! What do y'all think? I know Chris will love this when she returns home later this week! And it's not easy to mount the adhesive mounts squarely. Chris and I met playing tennis in 1991, and 3 years ago we transitioned to Pickleball for the community and it's also a little easier on our older bodies! Chris has competed in a bunch of tournaments with her Ladies partner, and we have played a few mixed doubles together. Loved our visit to St George for this tournament last year and we are playing it again this week: Selkirk Red Rock Open in St. George, Utah | PPA Tour So, it had the makings of a great Oliver trip. Thought we would boondock a first night just 2 hours from home, then 2 nights at Valley of Fire Nevada on the way. Starting tomorrow, we will spend 3 nights at a St George RV park right in town to be close to the tournament. This was our first night, off Signal Rd in Wikieup AZ (pics below).1 point

I just got a second reply which corrected what I thought I had understood the first time 😜 Bottom line, Oliver agrees it’s a problem but they don’t want to take corrective action until they understand WHY it happened. I’m 100% happy with this 🥳1 point
