Hopefully you will never need this, but I would like to recommend a fiberglass repair shop in the Pacific Northwest. Chapman Boat Repair, Inc. (208-323-2484) does fiberglass repairs for many of the local boat dealers. Chapman just did a warranty crack repair in the hitch platform (below the doghouse), which involved grinding out the crack area, reinforcing it with fiberglass, spraying gelcoat, and sanding and buffing the gelcoat. No spray paint was used, which does not age like the rest of the trailer's fiberglass and will eventually stand out. The resulting repair and color match is perfect. I heartily recommend Chip Chapman should you ever be in need of fiberglass work.4 points

@ScubaRx forgot to mention his trick about leaving a piece of string trimmer line in the rear port side corner for future wire pulls! Mossey3 points

2+ years for me and still haven't yet gotten to your #4. I've done all the others except been waiting on A/C since we try to be 3-season campers, stay home during summer. Hoping this new year a great new inverter-compressor A/C model hits the market! If we needed A/C today, I would purchase the Turbro Greenland, still on sale for $1,200. Go Greenland if you want to run A/C off batteries/inverter, go Tosot if you want super-quite and if you can afford Truma, many here vouch for it, but must be dealer installed. https://www.turbro.com/products/greenland-13500-btu-inverter-rv-air-conditioner-with-heat-pump Cave Creek - cool, we're neighbors! We often stay at the Maricopa County Regional Parks during Jan-Feb just for a quick get-away warmer weather. Been to Cave Creek Regional Park a couple times, will get up to the Horny Toad for some fried chicken and it's close to everything in Scottsdale and the NE Valley. Maybe we could meet up this winter. Many Oliver owners go to Quartzsite during Jan-Feb too! We should revisit this year to meet up with Oliver friends!2 points

John, I am interested but wont be able to pick up until this Winter when I am back in AZ. Please PM me the details along with measurements between the legs going back into the bumper brackets and the square tube o.d. I doubt they changed over the years but best to be safe).1 point

Thanks! Boise is the closest metro area to our rural home in central Idaho, so we are among the beneficiaries of your thoughtful post. Great to know!1 point

Hello all, We purchase a 2019 Oliver Elite II, hull number 448 on Sept. 9th, 2025. We been talking about buying one for years. About 4 years ago we were visiting friends near Nashville and stopped by the Oliver plant to take a tour. At the time, we wanted to buy one, but decided it was a bit too much money for us. We put it off, but in the meantime, I had joined the FB used Oliver trailer group. I saw one come up for sale that wasn't far from us, so I talked to my wife about going to look at it. She we in, and a few days later I was towing our new, used Oliver home. It's our first travel trailer. We haven't used it yet. The previous owner had problems with the Truma AquaGo water heater and removed it. My wife will want warm water when we do use it, so I was able to contact a local mobile RV Truma installer. We should have a new one installed tomorrow. Next I want to overhaul the suspension and tires. After that, I think we're ready to plan some trips. 🙂1 point

I was finally able to run the cable. I had to fish from the bottom up, just couldn't get past something between the hulls working from the top. Thanks for the help. Tony1 point

Ha, well almost. Day 1, buy trailer. First to do was get a new water heater installed. Had that done today. Next on list, new Alcan suspension. Buff and ceramic coat the exterior. Possible future upgrades: larger solar panels and more battery capacity. new AC? but will see how much we use the Dometic. I've read all the bad things about how loud it is. I asked the Truma tech while he was installing the hot water heater how much a new Truma AC would cost. He though in the $3-4,000. Maybe we can live with it the way it is, maybe not... My method is get the really big stuff done, so it's not some emergency that ruins an otherwise good time away from home. Those are few and far between, so I'd rather the expensive big projects get done asap.1 point

When I did this I had to purchase a 16' extension for the HDMI and USB cables (Amazon) which was just long enough for my needs.1 point

Last week we were camping at a TX state park for our first outing since April. Around mid day the temperature was well over 93 degrees and we decided to turn the AC on. Had forgotten how loud this thing was but we had no other choice. Shortly thereafter a family with 3 children camped next to us in a tent. The next morning the neighbor ( visiting from Holland) came over, introduced himself, very polite and very respectful and asked if we could turn off our AC because they did not sleep the night before because of the noise. In desperation I started looking for options and decided to go to a close by Walmart store. They had a 6000 btu portable unit and looking at the size and measurements looked OK to me. Installed it at the very back between the two beds with the air exhaust and the moisture drain through the back bottom door, plugged in and it was an instant relief, noise level was very low, low enough to have a conversation and listen to the radio. Next morning my Dutch neighbor came over to thank me for not using the AC. Will try to improve the installation by building a removable “door” for the left rear storage compartment with an opening large enough to accommodate the AC exhaust and prevent potential critters coming in.1 point

I tried also. There does appear to be an obstruction. I ran the cable along the back of the cabinet to the rear of the trailer and then ran it down and under the basement and over to where I installed the cerbo gx. Was very easy to let it pass down in the rear.1 point

Day one, first trailer, you first thought was the “suspension overhaul would be a good start!” We all have made good and bad decisions with our RVs and trailers! Your first action is profound! Go man, great start, do it, and ask away with your questions! 🤣1 point

After cleaning and burnishing I was told by Jason to cut a light criss cross pattern in the block and mounting point as well ( I used a vibrating saw with metal cutting blade) . Light cuts not too deep. Then I cleaned again & let dry. its held tight for 3 years so far.1 point

We received the same notice for our hull 770. Checked the rating of the hitch as instructed in the notice - stamped 7000. We are good to go. I appreciate Oliver giving potentially affected folks a heads up.1 point

I plan to start a new thread at some point, after I have hitched up, adjusted the parts and road tested it, which may be a while, but here are some pics of my Amazon Indusco turnbuckle posted above. FYI my Andersen installation is NOT factory, I deviated from Oliver’s standards and the front chain section may not be the same length as yours. Measure to make sure! Otherwise you might have to cut some chain links. My front chain section measures about 15.5 inches end to end, to the inside of the last links. I set the turnbuckle to that length, and I ended up with 2” of free threads both inside and outside of the housing, which will allow me to loosen each chain 4 “ or more. It’s like the turnbuckle was designed for this application😬 The turnbuckles come with thin free spinning nuts. I installed 1/2”-13 stainless nylocks for safety, They just fit, with no room for washers. The heat shrink tubing has not yet been shrunk, it will provide a visual reference when tightening the housings back again. I will post a few more pics and some commentary in that new thread, but this should get a member started if you want to do this easy easy mod. John Davies Spokane WA1 point
