  1. Brandi I suggest you contact Anita at the Oliver sales office and request the name, contact information of the upholstery company in Mississippi. This gentleman is very easy to work with. He will have all of the templates for all of your cushions. We chose our own fabric at a fabric store then had it shipped to Mississippi. He can make you the covers for your cushions and send them to you. Since he has the templates, they will fit much better than you taking them to a local upholstery shop. Another note. It is important you buy the right fabric. I worked in a sewing factory and have my own heavy duty (upholstery) sewing machine. My point is not all upholstery material will be suitable for cushions. Some will rip, crawl, or come apart. I got a swatch of material and sent it to Mississippi. He checked the material and call me back saying it was good material. Give him a call before you have covers made.

  3. Thank you for your advice. I am no stranger to sewing cushions. I have recovered many camper cushions. I even made new tent ends for a 1970 Apache pop up camper. lol If I have time, Id prefer to do them myself. Here is what I did to our 1984 Uhaul

  4. Hull #223 has hit the hills of East Tennessee and is at home in the Smokies! We picked up our Ollie last Friday! We had the pleasure to meet and visit with Scott Oliver during our pickup. He made it clear to us that our, Oliver owners, suggestions are valued and often are incorporated into future products. It is clear that their goal as a company is to make the best camper possible and to meet their customers' expectations. Not many companies today care about their customers after the sale... Oliver is a different kind of company. They care. Case in point, when we had a glitch in our pickup which was scheduled for Thursday, everyone at the factory went above and beyond to make us happy. Talking about taking care of your customers, folks, everyone at Oliver has been wonderful. Beginning with all the phone calls, emails, and questions that Anita patiently answered, to the guys in service working until after 9 p.m.; to Brent driving to Nashville, and then Jason coming in on Saturday to fix our door stop AGAIN after we broke it for the second time in as many days, (our bad, in our defense, our previous camper had a strong piston that kept the door open),Oliver goes the extra mile, literally, to make its' customers happy! Big THANK YOU to the entire Oliver Crew! Now on with our story... Due to a faulty satellite dish, a defective Dish receiver, and the Dish network itself going down due to maintenance issues, we were unable to take our new baby from the factory on Thursday. It took awhile to figure out the problem since it involved related components of the same system. Although we were disappointed, all eventually turned out well. Oliver kindly booked us a nice suite and footed the bill for us and our 2 pooches at the Commodore Hotel in Linden. So it is on Friday afternoon instead of Thursday when we finally leave the factory and head to Fall Hallow where we are lucky enough to meet GeO and his wife who had just picked up the day before. While we are visiting with GeO, Brent is driving to Nashville Camping World just to get a new Dish receiver for us. He came by Fall Hallow and hooked it up for us that evening! Yeah! Everything worked! We tested some things at Fall Hallow that first day but mainly we just moved in and celebrated with a glass of wine. Saturday we packed up, loaded the bike and moved on to Fall Creek Falls State Park. The new bike rack design works well; my husband is very pleased with it. Saturday was hot and humid and we were thankful for full hookups and the chance to test the air conditioner. I have to say, it is loud, but I guess they all are. All systems so far checking out great without issues. Sunday cool weather, wind and rain. No need for the air conditioner! With all the wind & rain Ollie got a good water test and passed with no leaks or streaks! We would have loved to stay on our maiden voyage longer but had friends coming to visit so we packed up on Monday and headed home. Hull number 223 is now resting securely with his new Gus Hill "the bull" ASSA lock ( btw, that sucker is massive) and patiently awaiting the next adventure. We want to thank all of you on this forum. We have learned so much from you and your experiences. Through your posts you have guided us on which options and modifications to consider for our build, as well as what items we might want to purchase (love that Clam!). We have learned much on how to operate Ollie systems and to appreciate the uniqueness of our little egg. We love our new Ollie. Thank you All! Sincerely, Hull #223 & Crew

  7. That looks interesting and good for storage/transport. I have a honda 2000 and the companion 2000 to parallel when needed. I don't have the manual handy but I seem to remember a fair amount of clearance is needed around the generator for cooling. I would suggest looking at the cooling requirement of your generator before putting it into an enclosure for operation. George

  10. Hey Buzzy missed you at the rally, the Micro Air easy start product works as advertised it's an amazing product I installed this on my trailer and can now run my Mach8 off of my Honda 2000 and has reduced the compressor start up bang that is normal on most RV air conditioners, I have not tried to use my inverter yet as I need to move the airconditioner over to the Inverter side of the a/c panel. 12. Brandi, Welcome and Congratulations on your new Ollie! We purchased our Ollie used from a couple in MO and they recovered the dinette cushions and two pillows on the bed before our purchase of the Ollie. Sorry I don't have additional information for you:

  15. About the only thing I can comment on is the bath. I'm 6 foot tall and about 165 pounds and have absolutely no problem. In fact, I was surprised at the small amount of water that goes beyond the very front of the toilet - and I am usually no even careful as to the direction of the spray. I've found clean-up to be very simple by using a silicone squeegee and possible either a microfiber towel or a synthetic chamois. Either way the clean-up takes about one minute AND you have a clean shower. As far as the door swinging out - I have a "bath mat" inside the shower since I like the "feel" of that better than walking on the bare fiberglass in bare feet. So, it is simple to take that mat and place it outside the shower just prior to turning the water on. Therefore, it catches any water that drips when the door is opened (I do dry the shower prior to opening the door) and since it is a bath mat I don't care if it gets a few drops of water on it and it dries quickly. 16. Most everyone seems satisfied with the size of the bath. I suppose you could argue that bigger is better, but people much larger than me seem to have no problems with it. I think the only complaint I've seen about water getting out is that the shower door opens out and so can drip water on the floor if it's wet. Some people have installed a shower curtain over the door for that reason. Everything I've seen is that it's a cinch to clean. Fiberglass FTW. I think the AC 150 is way too much AC for the trailer personally. Talking to the people at Oliver, I think they'd say that the current unit is somewhat oversized. My personal take on heat pumps is that they have such a limited temperature range in which they work that it's not worth the extra. If I have power to fun the heat pump, then I have power for an electric heater that will work regardless of the outside temp. Getting a charge from the tow vehicle is tough - the distance from your alternator to your batteries is so far that you need to run really big cables on both the vehicle and trailer to make it work. Then you also need some equipment to make sure that your alternator doesn't burn up or overcharge your batteries and that your camper batteries don't drain your car battery. It can be done, but it will take work. We're swapping out to lithium right after we take delivery. Oliver isn't quite ready to do that yet. You'll need a different charge controller, and might want to consider relocating the batteries to the inside. We're going with a Victron system. Oliver keeps telling me that one other person is doing the same thing but they're getting AM Solar to do the install. I don't think that owner is on the forum, and if so, they haven't spoken up. I'll end up doing the work in my driveway. edit - here's our Lithium Shopping List. There may be some additional wiring, etc., but this is the bulk of it. The "Oliver Savings" section are items that I would otherwise purchase if I didn't go with the lithium. At the moment, though, there's no actual savings from Oliver because they aren't leaving off any standard equipment.

  17. Sitting in Mamouth Cave National Park in Kentucky. 51 degrees out. Sun is shinning though we have almost a full leaf canopy overhead. Furnace running to take off the 60 degree chill. Toaster has run twice, morning television has shown us the traveling weather ahead for the day. We have running water for necessities. We are watching the Class C, across the way, running their noisy generator to do the same. Hopefully they have jumper cables as the other Class C in here left their lights on all night. But our main thoughts are with all the tents around here. Better them than us...

  18. If you forget to turn on your propane and the truma water heater is on you will hear a weird sound as it tries to fire up. This will keep you awake until you decide to investigate. Do not ask me how i know this. :-) Scotty Hull 145 FST

Bill and Debbie, Thank you Bill & Debbie! Sounds like you hang out in our neck-of-the-woods. We live in Townsend, the quite side of the Smokies. We like waterfalls too. Water in general for that matter. Looks like your avatar could have been taken in the Park near us. Give us a shout-out if you are ever camping in the area! Love to meet other Oliver enthusiasts.

  22. Hi Greg & Donna, Thank you. Yes we did get the backup assist on the Lariat. We have not set it up yet though. We have the basket option and aren't quite sure where to place the sticker. Glad to hear it works well! Oliver did do the bike rack. I posted more about it and some pictures on our actual pickup day because I promised someone that I would. It is on the "how are you transporting your bikes" thread. We have only been on the highway with the rack but are pleased with it so far.

  23. Yvonne & Doug, CONGRATS! and welcome to the family. Glad you had a safe trip home. I hope you got the Pro Backup Assist in your new Lariat. It makes my life a whole lot easier when in reverse. Would you please post more about the bike rack? Did Oliver do that for you? We have the old style and I would like very much to upgrade. Pics of the rack would be much appreciated. 26. Last fall, we began the search for the perfect for us hard sided trailer. Initially we had our eyes set on a casita (my choice) or a scamp (his choice). And since we couldn't come into agreement on which one, we put it off. I'm so glad we did because about 6 weeks later we discovered The Oliver. It's as if the heavens opened and we both knew straight away this was our "perfect for us" trailer. We ordered our trailer October 2016, and due to weather, had to wait until the end of March 2017 to pick it up. We arrived at the Oliver main office from Colorado to pick it up on a day Hohenwald had shut down schools because of a tornado warning. After a quick meet and greet with Heather and Anita, we drove over to the plant to pick up our Colo Ollie. Jason gave us a thorough walk through of our trailer and although a few things had to be taken care of before we headed out to the campground to test it out, Jason, Dustin, and Justin as well as a few others graciously got those few things in order for us before we left that day (and supplied a bit of comic relief). We slept well that night (no tornados in sight) and Jason was even kind enough to answer a few questions via text after hours that night. The next morning, we went back to the plant and Jason walked through winterization with Lenny and winterized our Ollie for us since we were headed back to Colorado. In addition they also fixed one of the drawers and a switch. Our pick up experience was fabulous. The team at Oliver went above and beyond for us. Thank you Oliver and your awesome team for your time and attention to our needs and questions!
