  1. Donna and I went Summer glamping for the first time last weekend. We camped at Camp Creek Campground in Mt. Hood National Forest. It's the closest campground to Timberline where I train on the Palmer Snow Field throughout the Summer. We had a fabulous time being in the forest, going on hikes and dining at local restaurants. Our next adventure is yet to be determined, but we're excited about our week in Sisters Oregon in September for the Sisters Folk Music Festival. Happy travels everyone!

  2. ... preferably lithium iron phosphate chemistry like the Viking one sold by Harbor Freight https://t.harborfreight.com/lithium-ion-jump-starter-and-power-pack-62749.html https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lithium_iron_phosphate_battery So far I haven't been able to find a single other brand that uses this safe and stable technology. I will not store a large lithium ion battery pack long term in either Mouse or my Cruiser. The fire and explosion risk bothers me too much. I may get the HF one and pay for an extended warranty, since the factory one is just 90 days. I need to be able to jump the 5.7 V8 in my truck. There is so much conflicting info, wild and absurd claims, and so many carbon copy clones of these jumpers, that I am just getting confused. Comments? Thanks, John Davies Spokane WA

  3. I got to use this after carrying it around in my truck for over a year in May of this year. Still had a full charge and was able to jump the Tundra two mornings in a row due to my daughter playing with the interior lights without my knowledge. Also, I used the trickle charge at the campground overnight the 2nd day. Worked great in both instances. Very well made and powerful. LiFEPO4 much safer as well.

  4. Mike put me on to the hitch vice a year ago and it has worked much better than the things I used before- thanks Mike! Bill

  5. Good luck today and with the future thunderstorms we get this time of the year. As a past owner of a noise reactive dog, I feel you pain. It is a helpless feeling watching you baby shake in terror and you are nearly powerless to do anything. Mike

  6. We got a Thundershirt for our dog. Our vet's wife made sure we got the proper size, and showed me how to wrap it properly. It has really helped with the thunder and lightning anxiety. This will be the first 4th with her new duds, so we'll have to see how that goes with the fireworks. Thanks for all the advice and comments, folks.

  7. The LEII has 2 x 3500 lb axles with 10” brakes. The 5200 lb axles were installed on a few of the early trailers as special order options; they came with 12” brakes The tire size is LT225/75R16.

  8. For the added aggravation, cost, and such, I see no reason to make this mod - to each his own.

  9. Thanks. Sometimes we forget to look at even the most obvious parts. Remember that there are two! One extra step to do - bend both cotter pin “ears” sharply inwards toward the shaft and then squeeze them tight, so that there are no gaps to hook a wash rag or your skin. Exposed cotter pins are dangerous and can really hurt you if they are wobbly and the sharp bits stick out, as in your picture. They should be installed as tightly as possible. I think a stout outside retaining (snap) ring would be a better choice here, and it would look much classier. But it is easier and cheaper to drill a hole than to machine a groove. That is a future mod for somebody who has access to a lathe.... John Davies Spokane WA

  10. [postquote quote=178926][/postquote] Since you already have the bike wing rack, you might think about this mount. It’s the Lippert version aka “Jack-It”. I don’t think you can buy the tower alone, but you could think of something along those lines. Mike
