  1. We're in North Carolina, but our friend brought Lake Erie Walleye down from PA. Omg. Best dinner in a really long time. Walleye is truly the king of white flakey fish. Cooked it in a foil packet, like shore lunch.

  2. We had the same problem on our first trip. Bending out the clips is a possible solution but I’d also check your tire pressures. One of the sure signs of running Oliver’s factory pressures is shades falling off the walls. Ours haven’t given us any trouble since we lowered them down to something reasonable.

  3. Greetings from coastal South Carolina. I’ve joined to gain more insight into ownership. My wife & I tent camped for about 30 years. We bought a Sylvan Sport Go, which was a great solution for transitioning from primitive camping. The Go was flooded during Hurricane Florence. We replaced it with an Airstream Bambi 16. It fills our current wants & needs, the wet bath is wonderful, especially compared to no bath tent camping! We are long-weekenders, to 4-5 days out at a time. Longer trips are planned, and we have a Honda 2200i converted to propane, a Goal Zero Yeti 1000 & a solar suitcase...so boondocking is a thing for us. A tandem axle camper will be in our future, and the Oliver seems to be a customizable 4 season trailer, we can have built to suit our needs. Thanks for having an active forum, and I appreciate the wealth of info I’ve found so far.

  4. So far, I'm really liking the spice rocket. I put all the pieces in the dishwasher at home when I received it, and nothing warped or melted. Filling the little half sections wasn't too bad, as a small spoon fits fine, though using a small funnel would probably be easier. I don't have a funnel in the Ollie. The little rocket takes the place of all these bottles. Frees up a lot of space. We've had lots of rain, and spices are fine so far. I think I will order another. I can then "double up" on the spices I use most, and leave all the big jars at home. Edit to add: six months later, and several rainy camping trips later, the spices haven't clumped. Garlic, especially, usually hardens in the container. Very pleased with this.

  5. There’s roughly 0.2 gallons in the line from the water heater to the shower and 0.1 to the kitchen sink. That doesn’t seem like much, but with two showers and some sink use, and on a four to five gallon a day budget like we use when boondocking now, that adds up to over a full day of water wasted in the course of a week.

  6. I assume you are talking about the window shade frame is coming loose while traveling. Mine have done that as well and it’s usually after I have taken them off for cleaning. I have moved a few clips to a different location because the clip has worn the area where the frame is pushed onto the clip and they no longer grip as well as they should. Sherry sent a previous post about the window shades that Spike started and he mentions talking to the shade manufacturer, who stated the the clips can be deformed by tightening the mounting screw too much. I think that is a good place to start. If that doesn’t help you can try manually spreading them like Spike did. Mossey

  7. A search brought up this thread. Maybe it will help? Sherry

  8. As we get closer to finalizing our 2021 Oliver Elite II order, I am picking up bits and pieces of changes in features from the 2020 to the new model. While many are obviously stated on the Oliver site, some don't specify the make/model of equipment. In addition, some cosmetic changes are not specifically stated. My suggestion to Oliver would be to compile a list of these changes so those who have been shopping based on the 2020 model specs will know what to expect. I will share what I discover as I finalize our build, based on questions answered by our sales rep. Forum members, please share any new information you have. I hope this information will help those who are still shopping and provide assistance to those in the process of configuring their Oliver trailer. The Forum already has an open discussion regarding the new standard awning in this thread. I will share additional items discovered from conversations with our sales rep, editing this post as new information comes my way. Frosted or Black are still the upper cabinet door options. The change is that the rear attic and the bathroom cabinet doors no longer have mirrored doors; they will match your choice for the other cabinets.

  9. In that line of thought, what's your battery level? Are you plugged in? Led lights will work with a low battery, but our jacks won't.

  10. The only thing I can think is that the lights and motor might be on a separate circuit, so maybe check for a blown fuse. One question, though - I took a peek at the manual on Oliver University and it's for the 120 volt model. Is Oliver really installing the 120v version? Do you have to turn on the inverter to use the awning?

  11. Is there a manual override available? That was asked in another thread. Just curious if there are limit switches? Thinking maybe moving the awning a little might close a limit switch? Also would allow one to retract if this should happen when extended? It would make a trip home easier.

  12. Probably not me. I love what I have, 13 seasons in. I'll leave the sale problem to our daughter, if she doesn't want to keep it. Sherry

  13. We had hot water in approx 8-9 seconds at the kitchen sink on our last trip. No complaints here. 😊 We just turn the Truma off even though it sips LP. Agreed, in the end ya gotta go with what suits your camping style and needs. I do think the higher tech Truma system is an added value on eventual resale. And thinking forward, the truth is we all will sell at some point someday. Just another view point.

  14. This is Canyon Point USFS Campground. It’s about 30 miles east of Payson, AZ. 7,700 feet, perfect weather in early August (low 50s at night, high 70s afternoon). There are two loops, some sites have 30a hookups, most do not. Highly recommended.

  15. If you use a food scale on the road, you need one of these. If you're like me and weigh your coffee beans or weigh food for dietary needs, this little scale is awesome! I just might have to get another. When I ordered mine, I had to settle for Pea Green. The white will look much better in the Oliver Galley. I can always give the green model to one of my daughters-in-law. I'm kidding 😁

  16. I still have 2014 "To Do List" s that need to be looked at... Just because I said I would get to it, doesn't mean she has to remind me every six months...
