  1. Would that TV require an Andersen WD hitch?🤔 Mossey
  2. I am usually at home when I drain my freshwater tank and I just let it run on my ground which can always use the water. And for me it is simple to flip the bed on edge and lift off the hatch lid which I then use to prop up the bed at 90°. And as JD mentioned, it’s a good time for a visual inspection of the water pump and valves. Mossey
  3. You could always convert that valve to a 12v valve and add a switch. ScubaRx did that for the Boondocking port. Mossemi
  4. Our 2017 LEII came with the television mounted in the street side rear corner. Later Oliver moved the television to the center location, maybe beginning in 2018. I moved our television to the center location and also placed the power, RCA inputs, HDMI and a USB power cable in the center also. I also measured from the bottom of attic to the television and it would take a 5" curtain to hide the television which would also cover about 1/3 of the screen when the screen is in the viewing position. So if you do decide to camouflage the television I believe the curtain needs to flip up or be removable. Maybe use Velcro to attach it as Sherry suggested. If you do decide on the television instead of an iPad or two as Overland suggested. I would suggest you try it as is, you might like it. I do know that we don’t even think about ours when it is in the up position and when it is in the down position, it’s usually dark outside and the shades are closed. Mossey
  5. I do love his enthusiasm for all things solar. And his book and forum are great reference tools. Mossey
  6. Thank you Susan for asking this question about redundant CO detectors. My 2017 LEII came with two CO detectors. One of them is paired with the Atwood Propane/CO detector under the dinette. The other is paired with the First Alert Smoke/CO Alarm unit, which is under the attic near the television. And I will state that I am not sure if the 2020 or 2021 Oliver’s are equipped with two CO detectors, so there is a small chance that topgun2 is correct. I must admit to a small amount of pleasure I gain when correcting a forum moderator.😂😂😂 Mossey
  7. Another benefit of your smoozing abilities.😀 Mossey
  8. The reason your van works is because the neutral and ground are bonded in the generator. Most portable inverter generators do not have the neutral and ground bonded. I don’t believe the automatic transfer switch has anything to do with the surge protector error. I use a test plug to verify correct electrical wiring before plugging my Oliver into any power source I am unfamiliar with and I would suggest everyone do the same. Mossey
  9. Watch the YouTube link for a better understanding. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwiw4tefqJ3qAhUBZd8KHd2XDIAQwqsBMAJ6BAgKEA4&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DWr3ZKDN-8Go&usg=AOvVaw3UJNxxzKdfcPQVEHM0viFk This one popped up on Amazon. Or you can make your own. Mossey
  10. I am sorry that I am such a nerd😮. An SME is a subject matter expert. At work that Jokingly applied to anyone that had any experience with anything the was new in our work environment. So the first person to figure out how to clear a paper jam in the new printer was the office SME. In this case AndrewK was the first to complete this modification, thus he now has the title of SME. Mossey
  11. AndrewK, I looked at the shade you installed at Zarcor's website and I think it is a great solution and I am surprised I hadn’t noticed on their site before. It must have been the Airstream reference that caused me to skip over it. But I did go over it in depth after your posting and I thought it looked great. So when Townesw asked about hanging it upside down, my first thought was to mount it as you did, but placing the main/top bar at a lower level which would leave a viewing gap at the top. But then that gap couldn’t ever be covered by the shade which might not work for some people. And then I saw your response and I remembered the other lower bar hold downs they offered such as the pegs. Since you are the SME on these shades do you think the pegs would work as Townesw requested? Just pondering, Mossey
  12. Just wondering if you have thought about hanging a monitor under the attic like the television and using a Lagun table as a laptop desk? Seating could be a challenge depending on how long you had to work each day. Something like a bar stool in the aisle might work. As you can see from my pre-retirement workstation, I did like a lot of monitor real estate. Mossey
  13. Lucky you, I am so jealous. That looks like a great campground. We are stuck in Florida on day 96 of my mother in-law's ALF lock down and Krunch is not budging. Mossey
  14. Well that is good news, especially this close to my bed time. I shall sleep easier tonight knowing the Golden Arches won’t be polluting the dark skies of the canyon. And after cutting the grass today in near 90° heat, I sure would've enjoyed one of Dave's chocolate Frostys. Mossey
  15. I am sure you could. Oliver uses 4 6v flooded lead acid batteries and they may also use 4 6v AGM batteries. Now the next question would be if they would fit in the battery tray. The 6v lead acid batteries are Trojan T-105's and they have a 225 amp hour rating. You should be able to find their dimensions online. I don’t remember, but someone else may chime in with that information. Mossey
  16. Netscape🤔, now there’s a history lesson. But most of us here on the Oliver Owner’s forum should remember it once we rub the cobwebs away. Mossey
  17. Thank you Coy for the link to the information at Congress.gov. And the following statement clarifies that the non taxpayer funds will probably be coming from oil and gas drilling, mining for coal and maybe hydroelectric dams on federal lands and waters. For FY2021-FY2025, there shall be deposited into the fund an amount equal to 50% of all federal revenues from the development of oil, gas, coal, or alternative or renewable energy on federal lands and waters. Deposited amounts must not exceed $1.9 billion for any fiscal year. Now what I don’t know is if this from current energy infrastructure or new development to come. If it is new development, I personally would rather see usage fees increased and no new energy development on any federal lands. I never thought of the idea of National Parks or other federal lands was to save the natural resources so they could be sold to the highest bidder at some later date. Somehow that doesn’t sound the the NPS's statement. Our Mission The National Park Service preserves unimpaired the natural and cultural resources and values of the National Park System for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of this and future generations. Mossey
  18. You are right again!😀 Mossey
  19. Sherry, I would agree with your thinking. In my case, 1 of my 6v Flooded Lead Acid batteries failed due to what I believe was poor maintenance. My bad! Rather than adding 1 new battery to 3 OK batteries, I decided to install 2 Battle Born LiFePo4 batteries. So in order to qualify for the 2020 tax credit I need to add at least 1 solar panel. I can’t use the portable panel I bought last year. Again my bad! So I am also going to upgrade to a MPPT controller and take advantage of the 26% tax credit discount. So now you know why I can’t afford a piece of Starboard.🙈🙈🙈 Mossey
  20. The government giving $9.5 billion in nontaxpayer funds makes me wonder where is the money coming from? I would certainly agree that all federal lands are in need of funds for infrastructure upgrades and or repair. But the federal deficit was $207 billion in May 2020. So I’ll ask again, where is the $9,500,000,000 in nontaxpayer dollars coming from? If we aren’t paying for it, who is? I would certainly hate to see a McDonald's on the South Rim, but since I haven’t been to the Grand Canyon since 1998, they may already be there. I can see the RVIA and the state of Indiana supporting this, it should help sell more RV's. But I do think there is more to this story than we are reading on the RVIA website. Hoping for the best, Mossey
  21. Good for you all getting the 26% credit by buying this year and I think the LifeBlue are fairly priced at around $1000/100Ah. Does that extra $4150 include the 3000W inverter? Mossey
  22. 2021 Solar Tax Credit I think the Micro-Air Easy Start may cost $400 installed, so the rest of the Lithium package that would be eligible for the tax credit would be $8599. A 2021 22% tax credit would be $1891.78. Now the Lithium Package is $6707.22 and although I already have my own lithium package, that sounds pretty good to me, if you have a need or desire to go green. Mossey
  23. Good morning and thank you Steve, for the word of the day, Palindromically. Now that I have visited dictionary.com, I understand your reference. Now the trick will be using it before I forget it. Mossey
  24. Nice work, the installation looks great. I was confused looking at the Starboard view because the stock hardware didn’t look like mine. So I finally looked at your profile and sure enough I was looking at an Elite. Thanks for allowing me my first peak under the bed of an Elite, I feel like a voyeur.😮 Mossey
