  1. South of South!!
  2. Interesting - as BB seems to have very adaptable design - why not maximize a battery for the common battery trays/storage solutions of OEM's that are interested in the LI solutions. Sure engineering and design may be a factor - but how about 2 - 150's (200's) that fit snugly into the Oliver II tray. Dreamer fir sure.
  3. After the last two winters-I'm just going to stay where it DOESNT freeze! Problem solved. RB
  4. I think Texas facilities will be much more usable in the near future. ,,,,
  5. I can speak from experience - anything stored - temp or otherwise - between the beds is a real pain. Two bikes - whew. No thanks. I had a close inspection of the new Oliver rack this weekend - Were it me - I would modify it back to the original of 2017 - and carry bikes like it was 1999. Cover them up if your particular - 14K miles no issues - and a dirty mat or such fits when needed. As I have noted - I have carried my prissy road bike in the truck - under the topper - on a mount similar to JD's pic. RB
  6. If I understand this correctly - you have an external Zamp solar port. To charge from an external solar panel - all you need is a solar panel and solar controller. The port is wired directly to the batteries - well my 2018 is anyways. However - Zamp port is wired opposite of most others - polarity. So you will need to reverse any plug you use to connect. If in doubt - verify with a tester. A 20 watt panel is a waste of your time and money. I had a 60 connected - was just ok. - Locate it in the best sunlight position. You will be good to go. This one appears to be plug and play - Amazon.com: Zamp solar Legacy Series 45-Watt Portable Solar Panel Kit with Integrated Charge Controller and Carrying Case. Off-Grid Solar Power for RV Battery Charging - USP1005: Garden & Outdoor However, I would prefer a lager panel, Amazon.com: Renogy 200 Watt Monocrystalline Foldable Solar Suitcase, 200W Panel-20A Controller: Garden & Outdoor is more appropriate for the long haul - just add the appropriate standard plug - wired correctly - and you are good for both maintenance charge and when out boondocking. Best of luck RB My comments are for a simple connection - One could do a much more robust connection - locate an upgraded MPPT inside the trailer, with a nice read out, Larger wires - 10 gauge, and so on. I prefer simple - at first.
  7. Wow, sorry for your problems. It stinks for sure. Were it me - I would repair what I know to be an issue, pressurize the system, and keep looking for water. Under pressure the leaks should be more evident. However, if any of the drain pipes cracked, that may be harder to detect.. Process of elimination, no easy answer it seems. Good luck. RB I would wager the two inlet connection port are history. 😬
  8. L & L I would add to Bill's note - Purchase an inexpensive GFI tester - something like this will do what you need. KAIWEETS Outlet Tester 48-250V, Receptacle Tester with Voltage Display, GFCI Tester CAT II 300V, Includes 7 Visual Indications and Wiring Legend for Home & Professional Use - - Amazon.com Or similar . Have at least 50 ft of water hose - Just in case. And a few of these at various sizes - very handy! Nite Ize Gear Tie Reusable Rubber Twist Tie Assortment in Variable Colors-S-GTBA-R8 - The Home Depot RB
  9. Come May - More time planned for Utah, CO, and AZ. Less driving - more staying is this years goal. Come Dec - life turns around. Seasons of year will not matter! RB
  10. FWIW - I don't use the blank tank - composter - and it has always read 10%. One does need to consider front to back elevation when dumping - sometimes I have had to use the front jack to achieve the needed incline - though I am only dumping dirty H2O. I have adopted the - walk around EVERY time I stop visual check - just to make sure I haven't done something stupid and it is ok to proceed. Leaving the steps down - is a repeat offense. Closing the bathroom door comes in second. We all make them - some more expensive than others. I am still looking for my tire monitor - the one I put away so I would not damage it or lose it while Ollie is in winter slumber!!!! RB
  11. The three tank monitors are wired - connected - such that any one of them can cause an error code. In my case it was a loose connection on the black tank monitor -located in the port front access area- just behind the shower wall. If the connection is good at the black tank -You should also check at the grey tank and H2O locations - it may just be a semi bad connection that needs some love. You will need to use the hatch under the starboard side front under the "bed" cushions. The tanks are flat and a reach - but doable. I wiggled the connection - was not a visible indication - has worked fine ever since. The connection is a small wire that is soldered to what looks like a copper strip - running vertical on the tank - At least that is what my 2018 looks like. Good luck.
  12. Depending on the contractors needs - those few that have dirt moving equipment go 3/4 route. Most all the landscapers have a 3/4 ton or larger, same for the concrete guys. The framers, electricians, and such - 1/2 ton for sure. The person not getting dirty - 1/2 ton top optioned...... Denali's, Limited, etc.. I would also believe - carry gen sets - as they are much simpler to get to the jobsite. At least around these parts.
  13. $28 a wheel - not bad - get 4 sets - $100 order -free shipping. Might as well add 8 extra seals - then you are set for years. Summit racing!!
  14. Motion Industries - locations across the USA. Or any decent local bearing supply place. I have learned to stay off the internet in this area. You want bearings and races. They will not be $20 each. RB
  15. Yes thanks to the Moderators - I have been called a moron - a time or two.(I can be hard on myself) With out great moderators - well, moderate on... And all this Pinto stuff is hard - taken subjectively - I could make a case for towing an E-I - no - wait that was the sales guy at the local truck place.....
  16. FrankC: interesting slant on the issue. I must admit - at times I shared several of your thoughts - and I usually tack back to - maximum participation - protected as much as possible from the scammers and evil doers. Here - I must give credit - to the team- of one? = J Walmsley. An excellent job sir. Whether here or elsewhere - people need to learn how to post safely. Although I have been known to mutter under my breath - RTFM - (Read the Fruitful Manual - no?) In the end this forum is a perk of Oliver ownership - current and future - and thus I am bound by a decorum of be nice.... Let the SOB'ers drool and stew - the overall feedback here is positive, fruitful, and entertaining. I appreciate moderator tolerance and Oliver's support. Let them all in - at FB expense.... RB JD's comment prompted me to add - I often learn something when knowledgeable Oliverites answer mundane, banal, or simple questions - I remain a let them all in - the water is fine.
  17. For those that use FB, Oliver has made an interesting announcement on that platform. . Soon to be posted here - on the forum. I won't front run Mat Duncan. I know many have left the FB - for many reasons- not all political!!! Regardless of why - I redid my presence there - to reflect minimum contact- in order to keep up with a few boating groups that are important to my sporting life. My point here - Oliver web masters - FB does not reflect the current favor of discerning Oliver owners - hmmm. Well ok, those of us with different opinions.😁 Thank You All. RB Edit - See - no diatribe on the corruption of culture and misplaced influence - Ha - Rather than being the product - here on the forum - we are actually a tiny dotted line on a distant arm of the Oliver org chart - sort of distant cousins ....
  18. A few more comments- Turn your unit on to highest setting a day or so before you load it - load it with precooled items. Adjust accordingly. We regularly make ice in the freezer section. I run the unit on propane when not on shore power - both under way and parked - never had an issue. But I also leave it on auto power. On really hot- sunny days -90 + - I put the awning out - if not windy - and shade that side of the Oliver - it helps. Open as little as possible - plan on the opening- keep it as timely as possible. I generally take along a AC/DC fridge/freezer - we put drinks, salad stuff, and overflow items in it. Really makes a difference as we can shop for many days - and not worry about where it will all go. The unit can run almost for ever off the solar fed battery storage, and switches to AC when on shore power. Generally our unit works fairly well overall - and I try hard not to camp in the heat - but it happens. RB
  19. "Dometic conducted extensive user research and pain point analysis to develop the Dometic FreshJet FJX3000 series RV rooftop air conditioners" All Dometic really needed to do was ask customers - we already completed the "Pain Point analysis!!" Really glad to see the new units hit our markets. Looking forward to the reviews and install updates. RB
  20. Such an interesting question. Certainly many factors to consider. But perhaps the most important for me would be -WHY, and do you have the means to purchase, and the time to enjoy it.... My Ollie as a financial investment - Hah, NOT!! however, if you consider it an investment in our health and mental wellness - it does add to our living enjoyment, a decent investment indeed. I always get a kick out of price and design comparisons between SOB - AIRSTREAM and Oliver. One could spend a great deal of time and energy delving into the subject. I don't believe there is much to be compared. Each time I have attempted - it ends up that about the only similarities I find between the two major players at the top - they are both RV's and command prices well above industry norms. Otherwise they diverge from there. I am also on the fence if they even serve similar segments of the market. Course that is my opinion. Good day all
  21. Yes, nice temps today, worked outside all day on Sat, roads have been clear since Friday, snow all gone but for the few areas in the shade. I cannot complain- the worst issue I experienced - the pool was closed one day, and delayed open a few other. So basically we had it good. And our snow creatures have seen their best days.... My two remaining bee hives seem to have made it - All a good day! RB
  22. I am going to break into Florida in the near future. Any respite in demand due to our northern neighbors restrictions on travel seems to be more than filled by everyone else not tied down to a job or otherwise engaged. Perusing all the reservation sites - anything close to the coastlines are simple brimming full. If one checks every day, you can piecemeal a trip together. Ahh freedom. RB
  23. Pat, I think you will find your idea unworkable in practice. Once the sewer hoses are stowed - there is not much real usable area left. I leave my hoses connected to the drain pipe, and push them into the area. I roll my water hoses up, connect them to themselves, and the fitted into the curbside area. Additionally, the area is not all that air and water sealed/secured. See JD's description. RB
  24. Well - with most of local business shut down for the day, and Ollie in his winter cover - we made Lemonade out of lemons - err, umm a snow couple out of the white stuff. About 3 inches, temps warming up, we will be back to normal by Monday. In the meantime - enjoy and be safe. The bounds couple in white. RB
  25. Land Yacht ahoy! Good to have another in the clan. Good travels - in about a year.😬
