  1. Probably most of us have had other RV's and were happy with them for what they were at the time, this is true with just about everything in life, our autos, our homes, ever our first wives, ok, maybe the last one is to the extreme. I meet people everyday that are thinking about an RV and of course they will tell you about what they have in mind, usually it's something that falls in there price range and what would work for them and there family. If they ask me what we have I will tell them and in most cases they have never heard of an Oliver and it stops there. Let others do what they want, or feel what they need for there use, we probably started the same way and we graduated in in time, let them do the same. trainman
  2. Looks like something I would buy as a play toy, but not to pull the Oliver. Your either going camping, or to a Hot Rod Show, there is a difference you know. trainman
  3. We are keeping our reservations for now, hopefully we can have a signup sheet just to get some idea who is coming. Someone talked about a POLL, this might work here. trainman
  4. I just don't see this working out very well, unless you get the full bed model and like to sleep real close. As nice as the Oliver is, it's a two person trailer for 99.0% of us, excluding dogs and cats. trainman
  5. Susan, I'm a neat freak and very picky on how I do things. On our Casita I ordered many things in advance and all worked out pretty good, but on our Oliver I made list of things that I wanted to do and add to our trailer and my wife did the same with her interior list. When we got home with our Oliver I had already planed to spend two weeks on the trailer as far as upgrades, etc., so I did wait and placed some orders on Amazon, etc. Glad we waited, because after spending five nights camping on the way home we changed our ideas on something as we all do. trainman
  6. Here are some pics of an inexpensive Oliver Elite II, everything is standard, except for the bike hitch, confection oven, LP outside outlets, and power door key lock. That is the stock factory white interior, stand flooring, and seat covers. The dinning table is black grained and goes with this combination very well. Everyone who looks at it says it beautiful, that's even other Oliver owners. Just something for new prospective buyer to think about, of course you won't be keeping up with the Jones, we have to park our trailer somethings way at the back of the camping sites use to be able to camp there. If you camp with utilities and have an iPhone you really don't need to much other stuff, which we do. trainman
  7. Enough wine and Shinner Beer, I can't remember which way I fall asleep. As far as watching TV that's pretty much a joke as far as getting reception to watch it, so that really doesn't inter into direction of sleep. But going to the bathroom in the middle of the night does, so which ever way you get out of bed the easiest is the way I would sleep. trainman
  8. I personally didn't get the electric awning for all the bad reasons out there. My thought is if you are not into cranking the awing in and out, how do you hitch and unhitch the trailer, much more effort then dealing with the awning. The wind sensor works, but it has to be ideal conditions, a sudden wind burst will not work fast enough to save your awning. Once again an accessory I scratched off my list. trainman
  9. For us we were coming from a Casita, so we pretty much had our list of what was needed, the back of the Ram seat area was packed full, but not too much in the bed as we would be spending one travel night in a motel and didn't want to move stuff in and out at night. It's unbelievable how much room there is in the Ram Crew Cab back seat area, makes me wonder why anyone would want a small vehicle to travel in. We carry very little in the bed of the truck, our ebikes and a rug are about it. trainman
  10. Don't know how the buying public is going to handle the long wait time for the new Bronco. Remember this virus thing as affected many buyers and there decisions to buy a vehicle that will be higher priced and is almost a specific use vehicle. The family vehicle is not going in this direction from what I see and read, so the future of this vehicle is still up in the air for many at this time, the way I see it. trainman
  11. Haven't decided on what we will do as of now, just have to see how this virus thing is going at that time. trainman
  12. So for those purchasing a 2020 you should have purchased a 2019, or older to get the extra outlets, plus you got to pay around $2000 more for your new trailer. All being said by 2025 there will be less and less as built, but expect to pay $5000 more then today's prices. The best thing about the Oliver is this helps with the resale value with the trailer going up year by year and if Oliver's continue to sell well, we have all made a good decision on our purchase. trainman
  13. All sign shops are not equal, that is some charge a higher amount for what they do, I got this designed and made for $50.00, plus two smaller ones for $5.00 each, plus when I picked them up they gave me 2 extra free small ones, total of five for $65.00 including sales tax. I did do a rough drawing on the computer of what I wanted on Paint Brush takes a little wile to get to know how to use it and then it's not great. I installed them myself, I can install decals, I've done may over the years. PS, I do like the Beacon decals, every trailer should have that personal touch, easier to find who is who in the camping grounds. I feel like I know you already. trainman
  14. Of all the turnoffs in most RV's will be the A/C's, all are noisy and that's pretty much it. We were looking at a Airstream 23D model and trying to decide between the two, it had central A/C ducts, but for $10,000 more I didn't think it was that much quieter and really didn't want a tin trailer. We try to do most of our camping in the cooler times of the year, or go north to cooler areas, just to avoid the use of the A/C at times, but I wouldn't let the A/C noise keep me from camping. We have a sun room and it has a Mitsubishi duck less A/C/Heat unit and it is super quite, just wondering why these type of units are not made for travel trailers. I can not even hear the compress unit run outside and the inside unit is super quite. trainman
  15. Oliver will give you a list of local dealers in your area that they have worked with before and had good luck with them. We had a problem with the wiring and we took it back to Holenwald as I did not want a dealer that had no experience with Oliver's and mainly how the wiring harness were wired. It was a 750 mile trip for us one way, but we just did the camping thing and enjoyed the trip as any others would be. I may also suggest that you attend the Oiver Rally and stop by for repairs as they a not too far from the rally, that is if they ever have another rally. trainman
  16. I might give those screws a twist with the screwdriver, but I don't think that's the problem. I personally am not going to worry about it, or tear the trailer apart trying to find it. trainman
  17. I find the trash bag/can/etc. to always be in the way where ever you put it. Sticking out like the one pictured would not work too well for me, it would just be in the way and bumping into it every time I passed by it. trainman
  18. If you just think you need a light in your fridge I'm sure there is an LED stick-on one for sale out there, of course you would have to turn the switch on to use it. So I counted all the LED lights on the inside of the trailer, our trailer has 29, that the standard ones, that's not counting the LED'S on the switch panels and other control panels. trainman
  19. I saw this on MSN, this vehicle is neither a plus, or a minus with me, I'm a Jeep Wrangler guy. https://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/news/is-the-2021-ford-bronco-too-late-to-the-game/ar-BB16RNuO?li=BBnb4R5 The pic just says, Wrangler, did you watch the show for the Jeep, or Dixie. trainman
  20. I think the key words here are, Mid Size SUV, now I see where all this is going. trainman
  21. I wasn't a real fan of the Anderson, for what reasons I don't know, but after having one, it's great. Very easy to use and most of the work is done by the trailer tongue jack, I normally do not have to adjust the chains each time I hookup and unhook. If you don't want to deal with a WDH get a 3/4 ton pickup and you won't need one. trainman
  22. I'm a Jeep Wrangler guy and don't look to change. I don't see Jeep Wrangler buyers switching to the new Bronco, but I do feel there will be a market for the time being. It could be like the Toyota FJ Cruiser, didn't sell too well when new, but the used market is very high priced and very popular. trainman
  23. I making a list of those on this forum that carry replacement parts, I just need to know who you are and where you will be camping. 😀 trainman
  24. I wasn't wanting to start a new topic on this, but I can't find any info on this, I guess I'm loosing it these days. Is the Oliver Rally in Sept. still on or not, or are they waiting for a decision on how the virus is doing at that time. I almost feel it won't happen as things are still not looking very good. trainman
  25. To watch TV when your on the _ _ _. trainman
