  1. Speaking from experience, they are attached with a paper backed adhesive and then caulked. They come off very easily with a plastic razor blade. They fill up with water because they are mounted on a rounded part of the trailer and do not adhere flat. Water gets in around the caulk and soaks the paper backing. I have replaced ours and adhered them in spots where the trailer is flat. Andrew
  2. Here is another option from Zarcor. It is an OceanAir roller shade, like you would find in an Airstream. We wanted to make sure we had a full, unobstructed view from the window, when the shade was open. It also works as a grab handle, when closing the screen. Here is the part information if anyone is intersted. CSH-3-W - OceanAir CABINshade, White - 21 5/8" x 23 5/8" x 24 1/8. It is a custom size. Andrew
  3. dewdev, The solar panel tilt bars are intended to be used to help the panel capture more solar energy when the sun is low in the sky. I have not seen a need to use the for that purpose. I use them to tilt the panels when I am cleaning or waxing the roof. The fish rod was used to aid in running wires. Andrew
  4. Trainman, In 2019, I was all in at $4,600. That included: - (2) Zamp panels, combiner box and all mounting hardware - (2) Battle Born 100ah batteries - Victron solar controller - Victron battery monitor - New converter/charger - All connectors, wire, circuit breaker and tools for the insulation The detailed list is attached. 5. Alberta and Randy, In our 2019 Elite II, the condensate tube runs directly back to the back wall of the trailer and down a few inches to the street side of the rear window. to the spot is exits the trailer. As I an idea on how to clear out the tube, I would remove the tube form the tee you are showing and blow compressed air down the tube that runs toward the back of the trailer. Another idea would be to use a turkey baster with hot soapy water and shoot it down the tube. Hope that helps, Andrew
  6. For Anyone Who Is Interested, We purchased our 2019 Oliver Elite II without solar. After purchasing and installing LiFePO4 batteries, I decided adding solar made sense and reached out to Jason Essary from Oliver. I wanted to make sure I installed the solar system as close to the way Oliver did from the factory as I could. I also reached out to Battle Born Batteries for advice. After installing solar panels, a solar controller, battery monitor and LiFePO4 batteries I posted the installation here on the forum. Since then, I have received a number of requests for assistance on other Oliver owner's installations. To help others, I produced detailed instructions as to how I completed our installation. I also have a parts and tool list as well as numerous pictures of various parts of the installation. If you are interested in any of the information I have or would like to discuss any part of the installation, please let me know. I am happy to help in any way I can. Andrew P.S. Please keep in mind I am very handy but, I am not professional solar installer or electrician. I am only providing this information as a description as to what I did.
  7. I have mine in the attic compartment, with the hose coming through the gromet where the TV wires/cable came through. I have removed the TV so the gromet is free of wires. I run my APAP on 12v and have it plugged into the 12v cigarette plug. This has work great for me. Even with the humidifier set at four, it draws very little power. Andrew
  8. Mike, Message me with your contact information and I can help you out. Andrew
  9. Frank C, I have had three-bathroom windows fail in the same way you have described. Two were covered under warranty but the third was not. I have yet to replace the third, as I suspect the same thing will happen. It requires the entire window being replaced. If you are handy, the removal and replacement is easy and straight forward. AndrewK
  10. Dave and Kimberly, Are you disconnecting the sewer dump hose after every dump? If you are, my suggestion would be to leave the one length of the hose connected with the cap on the end of the hose. This will keep you from having to bend down and reaching in. When you remove the cap on the end of the hose, to dump, make sure you are holding the end of the hose above the outlet. This will insure there is no leakage from the hose. For best results dumping, I always raise the front of the trailer. The grey tank is very shallow and will not drain well otherwise. I hope this helps. AndrewK
  11. Trainman, if payload isn't an issue, I am sure you would find the engine braking of the diesel to be superior to your RAM and the fuel mileage to be far superior. Living in the west and driving in the mountains on every trip we take, I personally would only tow with a diesel. We have a lot of steep mountains out here. You don't need a full-size truck to have a great towing experience. Andrew
  12. Dave, A wash, polish and wax in San Diego is $400. Andrew
  13. The setting on the Truma is “Eco”. The setting will not allow the water to drop below 42 degrees. Andrew
  14. John, For what it is worth, we have the paper towel holder version of the last one you have mentioned and it has stayed attached for almost three years with only one suction cup. We have been happy with it. Andrew
  15. I noticed a two-way 12v/120V refrigerator will be standard in 2023. It also continues to show the Dometic 11,000 btu AC. Andrew
  16. I have used the Mopeka Tank Check for almost three years now. It is not perfect, but I do like it and it does give me fairly accurate readings. The two negatives for me are: - Around or below freezing, it registers lower than the actual amount in the tank. - The batteries need to be changed too frequently. About every 6 and 9 months. I did have a problem with one of my original sensors and contacted Mopeka. They immediately sent me two new sensors and said they were an improved version. No problems since. I would definitely purchase the Tank Check again. Andrew
  17. Mark, I use a ResMed APAP Air10 with the humidifier. I purchased the 12V adapter and plug it into the 12V/Cigarette lighter plug in the attic. It uses very little power. When we don't use the heater, we use 20 to 25 amp/hours a day. Keep in mind we don't have an inverter. Andrew
  18. CW, Like Mike, we also have two Battle Born 100 ah batteries. We have 340 watts of solar and a Victron MPPT solar controller. We don't have a built-in inverter but, use a 400-watt portable inverter for the wife's flat iron. We dry camp and deep shade, with temperatures above freezing, we go six days without needing a recharge. If there is any real sun at all, we could go indefinitely. Hope that helps. Andrew
  19. Jim, I would suggest they look at Safari Condo Alto trailers. This is a Candian manufacture. Well-made, huge windows and very light weight. If we did not camp often in below freezing temperatures, that would have been out pick. In fact, we put a deposit down on one prior to seeing an Oliver. Andrew
  20. For those who have the RVLock keypad on your door and have been frustrated with the poor-quality keypad sticker, you will be interested in this upgrade. RVLock has come out with an upgraded one-piece silicone keypad membrane with numbers. The silicone membrane replaces the poor-quality keypad sticker and the silicone pad. The upgrade does require removing the lock and unscrewing the internal keypad to install the new membrane. (Instructions pictured) If you are interested, you will have to email or call RV Lock directly as the item is not "available to the public" and not listed on their website. I was given the okay by RVLock to pass the information about the upgrade on to the Oliver Owner's, via the Forum. The "UPGRADED SILICONE RVLock V4 RH Keypad Membrane" was $19.99 + $4.99 shipping. I hope this helps solve a problem. Andrew
  21. Did you use the bathroom sink faucet while the backflow valve was closed? If you did, the water that drained down the bathroom sink, backed up against the backflow valve and into the shower pan. Andrew
  22. Mark/Deb, I would contact Gabe Morales at Garnet Industries. He is Oliver's contact with Garnet and is very helpful! Gabe Morales <gmorales@garnetinstruments.com> Andrew
  23. Islandgrl, 2019 Elite II twin with solar, (2) 100 amp/hour Battle Born batteries, 20 lbs. propane tanks and no front basket or rear bike rack. With full propane and all our gear, food and clothes for a two week trip, our tongue weight is 400 lbs. With full water it is 500 lbs. These weights are from a CAT scale. Hope this helps. Andrew
  24. We have Visible (Verizon) and ATT and at times we find we need the both. Often one will work when the other won't. I would check to see if your company will allow you to keep your number and just switch over the account to your name. It sure is nice not having to start out with a new number and everyone already has is. Andrew
