  1. A great use of space. Could you post the link from amazon if possible?
  2. For those Ollie owners who will still be camping at lake Guntersville at the end of the month. Wondering if anyone would be interested in a raffle? Pick a item new or old that you might have and don’t need for your Ollie. All items will be numbered. Everyone who participates Will draw a number and get someone else’s junk or treasure. All in good fun. Thoughts?
  3. It’s just the fast pace of modern technology. It’s the most advanced when it comes out. 6 months later it’s obsolete.
  4. I agree. Renting is the best place to start for new to RVing. Suggested this to my older brother of course, I didn’t know what I was talking about. After 160 k on a class B waiting 10 months for it to be built. After three months In the Rv decided Rving was not for him and his wife. He lost big money on resale. Try before you buy, it will save you Headaches and money.
  5. Everyone thinks Rv life is cheep. NOT. But fun.
  6. Set aside the aluminum vs fiberglass. The most destructive source of any Rv is water. It can delaminate rot wood corrode metal and short out electrical systems. The airstream would do all that, I know from experience. 2017 30’ airstreams serenity. I had a leak in the bathroom which was in the walls. The plywood floors got soaked. The bat insulation in the walls were saturated with water. Because the floors were wet it delaminated the flooring. After everything dried out, then noticed the frame starting to rust. Should I continue? And not to mention carrying a pop rivet gun to replace rivets popping out. Keep comparing the apples to oranges. The Oliver wins.
  7. Yes a good route you don’t want the more southern route through NY or Washington. A nightmare and expensive toll route.
  8. I can’t disagree with any of the above posts I was surprised when you said a Colorado Chevy has a 7000 lb tow rating. Your last paragraph makes more sense at 5600 lbs. another thing not mentioned, Oliver base rate of 4900lbs may be true. I don’t know of any delivered Ollie II coming in at that weight most will come in at 5000- 5300 lbs mine came in at 5200 lbs with all the options ordered. Any vehicle can tow anything, but doing it safely and comfortably. Are two different things. The best choice is buying an Oliver. Good luck safe travels.
  9. Nice charting. You are on the money with 3/4 diesels mine, Chevy falls in that category 13- 16 mpg while towing 21mpg non towing. I just reset my trip indicator. At the end of the trip look at the results of performance and Mileage. There is always a plus or minus, depending on the trip.
  10. I’m very surprised these type of lug nuts are still in use. They were even more of a problem back in the 80s when they where more widely used. They are much cheaper obviously than a solid chrome lug nut. Cheep parts saves millions to manufacturers.
  11. Oh yeah if it had a big block motor under the hood
  12. One more item about the HD’s and diesel. Visibility large mirrors and large blind spot mirror. Most now extent out if more visibility is needed. And don’t forget the best item I found, engine braking. Travel down a steep mountain set the speed and let the engine brake do the work less wear on brakes that could heat up and sometimes fail due to overheating. Forgot to add mirrors are also heated no fog up lane departure warning and additional turn signals. Big benefits when towing
  13. Strange only in one area not all the way down looks like rust in the photo maybe something going on behind the frame I have hull 484 parked inside I had some black mold spots while outside Florida humidity, while the garage was being built nothing like yours. Is your garage metal or wood? condensation drip from ceiling? Just guessing,
  14. 2500 Hd diesel Chevy Ford or Dodge 👍🏼
  15. And Patriot also rented a large uhaul truck when he picked up his Oliver, full of stuff for the Oliver. That’s Anouther fun journey to take. Buying things for the Oliver. 🤪
  16. This must be a millennial thing. Us boomers just buy big trucks. 😎
  17. I found this inline pressure washer filter system. It works great a little bleach or peroxide in the container the ends are made for the garden hose. Bypass the water heater and let the water flow through the system. Let it sit rinse done.
  18. The only problem I found sleeping with your head at the kitchen side being 6ft you have to bring your legs almost to the fetal position and swing out to prevent from getting your legs stuck at the night stand. Not a easy task with back injuries. 🤬
  19. I’m happy with my tow vehicle what’s all the fuss about🤪
  20. If any one is interested in watching a space launch. Jetty park is one of the preferred spots. If you don’t mined being a little further away. I suggest The Great Out Doors Rv and golf resort. I lived at the resort for Five years. We were able to view every launch from are back patio. Not up close and personal, but you will see a great view and hear and feel the rumble of the launch. And if for some reason the launch doesn’t happen you still have the amenities golf, pool fishing restaurant etc. may be a bit pricey for some but a very nice resort.
  21. Sorry I don’t know what happen to the quote
  22. Yes those Dodges and Fords do make a lot of idle noise. 😳😉
  23. I know that you can order your GM truck with factory duel 200amp alternators. And with a diesel you already have two battery’s on board. Most GM ambulances have this with i think 3000 + watt inverters to run all the equipment. My last Chevy 2016 duramax 4x4 crew cab came this way with out an inverter. Sales said, customer order it and didn’t take delivery. Maybe every one can weigh in would it be a workable option. If its workable they do have aftermarket kits to retrofit your truck. I didn’t keep the truck long enough to find out.
  24. The best place if in Florida to get ABS pipe is from A mobile home supply company. Most of the stock is ABS.
