  1. Well we caught Santa warming his buns last night by our fireplace...๐Ÿ˜„
  2. LongStride, Welcome to the forum and congrats on your Elite l, very exciting! This forum has a wealth of knowledge and a great Oliver family to become acquainted with. Everyone is more than willing to lend an ear and answer your questions. You also have plenty of time to study up on your Ollie and become Oliver University Alumni. Being fairly new Oliver owners ourselves, Oliver University has been extremely helpful. Oliver even takes there customer service to another level with great maintenance videos. So dive in snd enjoy. Welcome to the Oliver Family, now hit the books. ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜„ -Patriot
  3. Merry Christmas and May we ALL have a Blessed Happy Healthy New Year!
  4. Congratulations on your new Ollie & Safe Travels!
  5. That indeed is a long trip, Congrats on the delivery! Be safe in your travels!
  6. Happy Thanksgiving! Bill did you pardon that big Tom? ๐Ÿ˜„
  7. From a gorgeous sunny Western Carolina morning - Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Despite the challenges of this past year and likely many more in the future we feel blessed with great health, happiness and freedom. The bird is in and rolling in hickory smoke for several hours and we wonโ€™t open the smoker door until our igrill mini meat probe reports on my iPhone that its done! ๐Ÿ˜Š A toast to a safe, healthy year ahead for all. Happy Camping!
  8. BlueHighways, I agree with you on the additional cab comfort of a 3/4 ton on long haul trips, IMHO there is no comparison to a half ton or an SUV. We recently made a decision to move to a 3/4 and have zero regrets. Driver/passenger comfort, insane power from an extremely quiet diesel w/engine brake or Jake brake. Another huge plus is added cargo room and excellent cab visibility (ours is factory lifted) which really suits us perfectly for travel and touring. We also have the optional 1 ton Dana axle high capacity tow package TV and still averaging 21-22 mpgs highway. Drive what you enjoy and enjoy what you drive! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป Happy Camping and enjoy that new TV!
  9. We have the (5) sided clam and really itโ€™s quick set up and take down. I recommend the optional side panels for privacy or blocking wind or sun.
  10. We called the CG directly and mentioned we were picking up our Ollie and they were very accommodating. Site 81 - I wide and level and I would pick it again. ๐Ÿ˜Š
  11. Just received this email from Kuat on the new Transfer 2 bike rack which they claim can be mounted directly on campers recreational vehicles or trailers with chassis mounted receivers only. https://www.kuatracks.com/product/transfer-v2/
  12. Great pics Bill! We loved the switchbacks of route 80๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
  13. Neat rack, thanks for posting, Curt is in the mix for cycle racks. Now I know Jairon you are still on the hunt for that ultimate Ollie rack. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
  14. Bill, I had to blow the dust off an old photo of me at Deals Gap back in 1999. (It was not as well known as it is today population 6) I was riding my new 1999 Honda Valkyrie. This particular day I remember buying a long sleeve heavy t shirt which I recently parted with along with the leathers. The Deals Gap Store was tiny and had a few t-shirts in a card table for sale, so I bought one. Now itโ€™s Tail of the Dragon...it attracts all kinds of moto and auto enthusiasts. Over the years grew way too crowded and just unsafe to ride and enjoy. Many have met their fate on Tail of the Dragon on her twisted turns and terms. With 40 years plus safe riding years and a rather number or large sampling of different scoots, my wife and decided to retire off two wheels in Aug of 2018. Oh what a great ride it was! The Valk...a great bike in its day. Never a moments problem. The last two scoots we owned my former R1200 BMW ADV and my bride on her Suzuki 650 Vstrom. Photo taken by โ€œBlind Kennyโ€ a road side photographer on route 80 aka- the Devils Whip right off the BRP.
  15. Just a follow up with the GE dehumidifier listed above. We learned in the owners manual that it should not be used below 41 degrees or above 90 degrees and its heavy as a boat anchor. So we returned the unit to HD yesterday. So our search continues. We will keep the Pro Breeze for travel.
  16. Very interesting link, Thank you! I just read in the owners manual not to run our new GE dehumidifier below 41 degrees or above 90 degrees๐Ÿ˜ณ. So with temps dipping below freezing I will just empty it and turn it off this mid week at night. The GE model has a high and low speed and itโ€™s pretty quiet on low. A continued work in progress. Here is the GE we purchased recommended by Ray. We bought at HD - itโ€™s heavier than it looks at 33 lbs empty.
  17. JD, I am on a quest for hunter blaze orange Saran Wrap to cover that bowl! ๐Ÿ˜‚ Maybe just a large note to self.
  18. Great suggestions John, I have not wrapped a toilet seat in Saran Wrap since pulling a trick on a few friends many many years ago.๐Ÿ˜‚ I will spare the details. Well I did get tossed into a pool full clothes as payback. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Those teenage years were fun. A beverage and campfire story for sure. Thanks for the suggestions!
  19. Yes to your first question, the toilet will still need a cup or two periodically. Second question, weโ€™ll see. I have the new unit set to reduce the H to 50% for now. A work in progress.
  20. Weโ€™ll keep the smiling little guy for travel ๐Ÿ˜„. Although I think itโ€™s not going to be very effective when we are in and out of the Ollie. It maintains about 69% RH. Better than nothing I suppose. ๐Ÿฅด
  21. Ray, Thank you. We will be installing it this morning and giving it a try. I would like to drop the RH to less than 50%. **Edit with a few photos - just installed the GE unit, itโ€™s hefty in weight - box says 33#. Instructions say to set the unit to lower H to 45-50% during first 24 hrs of operation, done. My only concern will be to ensure it does not dry out our sink, shower traps and toilet from antifreeze too quickly. Weโ€™ll monitor this for a week and see how it does. A pic showing the size comparison to the Pro Breeze. This Tuesday & Wednesday we may dip down to a freeze point, so I will need to keep an eye on the dehumidifier so that it does not freeze up. A work in progress. -David Readings after plugging in the GE - so weโ€™ll watch progress.
  22. Looking forward to seeing the pics! Thank you!
  23. Or another already existing option is just contact Foy Sperring and have him craft a larger custom wood dinette table. He does amazing work and still ships directly to Oliver or to existing owners. Our sales rep told us about Foy.
  24. Ray, Thank you, very helpful and much appreciated. David
  25. GAP- I use these Andersen levelers - hope this helps.
