  1. Dawn and Warren, Congrats on purchasing an OLIVER. As a new owner Hull 665 (9/2020), I would strongly recommend that you take a relaxing drive to the Oliver Factory in Hohenwald, TN, go through the New Owner Orientation, Take Notes & Ask Questions, and then hook it up and spend 2-3 nights at DCSP (David Crockett State Park). Whilst at DCSP, if you have any issues, you can try to resolve yourself by reading (all the) Manuals that come with your New Ollie. Alternatively, call the factory and they will discuss your issue and walk you thru a resolution. We had a couple of issues; however they were pretty much self-caused and we did not call the factory as Wifey likes me to figure out things by myself with her assistance… If by chance, you need to return to the factory, you are an hour away, as opposed to 2,345 miles, the mean distance from Oregon to Tennessee. Then begin your journey home, and learn some more as you go. If you do have any issues, better to shake them out and become seasoned Oliver Travelers on that trip home, rather than when you travel to Minnesota for that important Event. We did ND to TN to pick up #665, and then 3 weeks 9 states back to ND. Learned a lot and loved every minute & mile of it. Bryan
  2. John, "You need a multimeter" Any suggestions, first for Oliver applications, then if I must... Household applications.
  3. John, That is SO COOL, When he is able to detail the interior... we want one.
  4. John, i did not see if you had "Mud Flaps" on your TV, i did see pictures of your "Rock Catcher", does it also significantly catch TV Rear Wheel Water Kick up???
  5. We learned SO MUCH just by attending the U of O while awaiting our trip to the factory. I still go back and review the info, even now that we have the Manuals.
  6. I do not remember if it was the Heater/AC or HW Heater, but one was not working when at DCNP. So I got to impress Wifey with my problem solving abilities, after her insistence and threatening me with "she was going to do it herself". I mean I was on Vacation after all... Some of the Fuses have a lip or ledge on the end with the rating #, so a fuse puller will grab/pull them quite easily. Some of them are smooth or a straight bevel from the "Fuse Blades" back to rating #, so a "Needle Nose Pliers" works best. Hint, use rubber coated N-N Pliers; it works on both... I did kill all Power because Electricity likes me more than I like it, and we only had had it for about 4 hours, and were still wondering what the !@#$%&? we got ourselves into... I did not notice before pulling the fuse if the "Fuse Blades" were set properly in the receivers on the Circuit Board. However after removing and reinserting the fuse and re-energizing the electrical, the unit worked. I got off easy that day, Wifey was impressed, and it reinforced my confidence that we had made a very good decision in the purchase of an OTT.
  7. Mike and Yasuko, Greetings from North Dakota, OLE II # 665 "SNY SD UP". At 6'7" I too have a long stride, so if you have a Height related question inside the Ollie, let me know. Bryan & Maggie,
  8. To the Forum, I have seen a number of Products mentioned, so I was wondering what do you ('all) carry with you when out on the Road and at Home when doing Routine Maintenance & Repair. If you have any tools you have discovered to apply new or remove old, I would like you to mention those too. Especially interested what you might use to adhere to the inside/outside of the Glas surfaces. Regards, Bryan & Maggie,
  9. if this does not fall under this "Thread", please move and let me know where it should go. this was placed on the FB Ollie Page abt 4 hrs ago. some of you may be aware of it, i know there has been discussion on it. maybe those interested are already aware. Game changer? The new 2021 Ford F150 Hybrid with it's massive 7.2kW – Pro Power Onboard will charge your Ollie! No need for a generator or even solar? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gz4PHOZJhgA
  10. GOOD BARREL ROLL on that Ollie Pic. Welcome to the Ollie Family from Western North Dakota.
  11. John, I would have PM'd you with the question, had I known that it would cause you to re-live such a cathartic moment 🤣 It would be too cool, if an Ollie Owner of the caliber of all of you was centrally located in the US, and owned enough of a Garage/Shop that a few (2,3,5) Ollie Owners could gather and do one Mod/Upgrade at a time, each doing their own work, and helping when that 3rd hand/2nd pair of eyes was needed. I do not know if Wifey would agree to some of the mods/upgrades, for just everyday creature comfort & vacationing... but with her fascination with being able to "SURVIVE THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE", in our Ollie she would probably insist & assist to get them done sooner than later. Again, to the FORUM members your contributions make up for me not being able to hang out with the "Older Guys" in the neighborhood garages, listening & watching them modify their Cars & Hot Rods. Keep it up, and if you see BRIGHT in the Northern Sky, hopefully it will be "the Lights" and not our "SNY SD UP" as a result of me using the wrong gauged wire when converting over to Lithium's.
  12. JD, what is with the single strand of wire (see blue Circle) from one terminal contact to another? Did you remove it later when doing the QC Inspection??? I find all these forums and the wealth of cumulative knowledge shared here to be Confidence Inspiring when I begin to tackle some of these Mods & Repairs.
  13. Sak, Greetings from Western North Dakota. And Welcome to the OTT Family.
  14. For what it is worth, Here is the Batt Arrangement on a 2020 (09/10) delivery Hull # 665. I do not know if you can see, but there is a rubber padding between the Battery Restraint (Strap) Hooks and the Batteries. layout of Batt's on 2020 Hull # 665 Batt Harness passing thru compartment walls
  15. TG (Bill), Have you gone out to the Garmin site to upgrade maps/sw since you received it? No matter how new these products are, they seem to need updates by the time you purchase/install it. Mine should arrive this week. It will be going into our 2010 GMC 1500. I will look into the mount you have, and maybe swing it to the “CO-PILOT/NAVIGATOR side of the Cab”. Its either that or being reminded to “KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE !@#$%^&* ROAD”. I choose the more calming option. We both work on setting up routes using the PC/SW at home when planning, but travelling… not my job. If we want to modify a route ahead of time, we try to do that “out of the Cab”. However that does not stop us from spontaneously going on a “Mr. Toads Wild Ride”, but isn’t that is part of the adventure.
  16. John, et. al., We picked up our 2020 OLE II Hull # 665 Sept 10th. Prior to us signing on the dotted line, we had a factory tour. I thought during the tour, Jason(?) mentioned that Oliver had made significant improvements as to the way the electrical harness's for the Ollie were now being assembled. My question is; Are the "Rats Nests" mentioned by some across the various wiring topics "Sins of the Past" or still being committed today? I have not seen anything that rises to the previous descriptions by those more experienced than myself of the internals of the Oliver, in the few familiarization inspections I have made, when trying to visualize what is being discussed, and whether or not I wish to partake in that fun... However I still enjoy reading and trying to understand all mods & improvements that many of you are discussing and doing. Regards, Bryan
  17. John TY TY TY, I was looking for something along this line. Especially the 2 & 3 Tabs. Maggie said we could $ave Money by buying an Oliver, and now i will track it and show here how much we will be $aving... I too will keep a paper log... which is an empty printout of the TAB, and i will fill it in each day. when we eventually return home, then i will transfer it to excel.
  18. ICE vehicle - Internal Combustion Engine vehicle
  19. Question Mark, Greetings from Hull#665. Nice pics, makes us want to add that to our southern route this spring.
  20. for what it is worth... at 2200 hrs CST Amazon (Chuckstovoll's link above) shows them back at $899.
  21. Thank You John, "• The solar PV system is located at your primary or secondary residence in the United States,". So our RV's are considered a qualifying "Secondary Residences"??? Having recently retired, I was trying to simplify my life by shifting concern from "Qualified Deductions & Tax Credits" to dealing with all the Passive/Unearned Income. (insert smart-ass smiley face here). Here I thought Wifey bought it to just "Get-US-Away" from home and enjoy the Great Outdoors. I am new to all this, so I guess I will be checking with my Accountant on leveraging Tax Advantages of owning an RV. Not Complaining, but Sheesh... As Usual, Regards Bryan
  22. TOPGUN2 , Then why are you not out camping??? We are at 26F and were thinking of going to the Quonset and sleeping in SNYSDUP, just to deal with Camping Withdraw.... After the meal of course.
