  1. I second the recommendation to TRNP, There is a North Unit & a South Unit of the Theodore Roosevelt NP, in ND. The North & South Units have primitive sites, which I believe are all pull thru. i know the North Unit has a dump station. There are some great hiking trails, with spectacular geological formations and lots of wildlife. The south unit is more developed; it has the town of Medora in it. If you are interested in a “Western Theme” you will enjoy it. And If you are into it, the Medora Musical is a great show. There is a "Pitch Fork" Fondue, not to be missed. You can Camp at the South Unit, Hike, View the Wildlife, and if you want excitement, go into Medora. The North & South Units are accessed by completely different roads. the only way to get from one to another is over the Maah Daah Hey (Mountain Bike) Trail. if you want to do this, read up on it. it is rated difficult. but you do not have to try it all at one time. Do not take selfies with the BUFFALO, they are NOT POSERS...
  2. AH-HA the every mystifying "Search"... here are a few that will dredge up some additional deterrents. as well as some comments from the OTTO's (Oliver Travel Trailer Owners) as to their experiences. Anti-theft securing valuables security locks Lock You will also see other topics pop up, but that is because sometimes we (Just might) morph a conversation tread onto another topic. Only to be reigned in by our wonderful Moderators to "Start a new Thread", just so the SEARCH will find these little nuggets.
  3. This is a common (thread) question, and a couple of devices mentioned before are as follows. Amazon.com: REESE Towpower 72783 Universal Coupler Lock, Adjustable Storage Security, Heavy-Duty Steel: Automotive Amazon.com: Master Lock - Universal Size Fits 1-7/8", 2", and 2-5/16" Couplers - Trailer Locks #389DAT: Automotive Variations of these can be found on the AZMN website, so you will have a choice. The Yellow & Red are colors that show up from a distance, and say "this wont be easy-peazy", to those that are looking for an opportunity. Comments from others may show preference. Some on the forum have commented they have camped for years, and never had any issues. For what it is worth, I just bought the “red” one, I may use it when boon docking, but probably not when in a regular sited campground. John Davies (“JD”) has I believe a ball-bering (2" ?) that fits into the ball of the hitch, then locks the hitch. Another thing I started doing (based on comments of JD) is to lock my hitch safety latch “Whilst Towing”, just to make sure that it does not (very un-likely) spring open while under way, or to make sure no one just happened to lift it just for bad…fun. If someone wants something that is not theirs bad enough, they will go to great lengths to get it. And with all the battery power tools with cut-off wheels, no matter what you do, it may not stop them. What you want to do is show them, it is not going to be easy if they pick you. You should have Travel Trailer Insurance (another thread to search), and you deal with a theft it if it ever happens. just do not let it bother you every time you unhook from the trailer. In the meantime, ask away (you have hundreds of years of experience here) and do searches on the Forum and ENJOY CAMPING IN YOUR OLLIE...
  4. One of my favorite. But I have many & varied genre I listen to.
  5. Asking for myself... If you pull your batteries and bring them home, do you put them on wood (Work Bench or 2x4's) or just on the garage floor. I have heard from some that leaving on garage floor has no adverse effect on them. Others have told me “insulate them from the “Earth”. What is the “Life Experience” of the forum members on this?
  6. Cool, I 2nd, 3rd, & 4th the sentiments above. We were a Sept 2020 PU date, and all but one of the issues we had were associated with understanding what we were reading/viewing from Ollie Univ. And the Library they give you with the delivery. The only Non-User issue we had, Ollie Service was able to explain how to resolve, and I fixed it and we were good. If you actually have a Non-User issue, well OTT Service is a phone call away (and if you are at DCSP, a short trip away), and they will walk you thru a resolution or be "Opening up a Ticket , to resolve it. On the Forums, describing your issue will either get you a helpful response towards resolution or a recommendation to call Customer Service and open a Ticket. The more experienced owners on this forum know the difference between something which can be fixed via Forum Discussion and an Issue that needs to be resolved by Oliver. If a company does not stand With You on a major purchase and follow through with Customer Service, then word gets out, and they will lose their base and future customers and they will go out of business, simple as that. So far all I have seen is “Oliver is in this for the Future". I kind of equate new OTT ownership to Parenting; well at least for the first born, you have 9 months to prepare, and then the delivery day arrives and Holy-Cow what do we do now . Oh Yah, I remember reading about that, or I remember seeing that... Oh is that what they meant??? The one good thing you have available to you here on the Forum, is a lot Aunties & Uncles that have many hundreds of years accumulations of Ollie Parenting. So you can always Crowdsource for the resolution. And if you are into Mod's, well chances are someone (JD et. al.) has thought about it, is working on it, or has Dun-It... And with each Mod, comes a new variation, which garners accolades from others. I look at the OTT Forums as the Test Lab for possible future OTT enhancements, and the Future is Exciting. My buck-two-eighty-five's worth, now we are just waiting for "Oliver TT Weather"... Bryan
  7. I had this issue, on the "City Water" connection. I bought a 1/2" hex socket attachment and tightened it up. All other similar connections were tight and no issues with any of them since.
  8. being a newbie, we will be bringing our Vornado Mdl: EH1-0012. there are newer models out there now. about 5 yo. but very nice.
  9. -23° and Winds Calm. Uff da AND I CANNOT WAIT FOR SPRING AND "OLLIE TIME".
  10. TV is in un🥶heated garage, that we need to remedy... Sny Sd Up is hibernating in a heated😛 Quonset. I have removed e-bike batts & the Garmin gps's just to be safe, and to begin 😀 to load 2021 routes. TV & non-tv have block heaters plugged in.
  11. We have had a very mild winter up to a few weeks ago. little to no snow, and temps in the 25-45 range. then winter arrived and you have all read about what it is doing east & south of ND. A lot of people do not think much about the cold in ND, because that is a given... If we do not get a lot more snow or spring rains, then the (dryland farmers) up here will be hurting. right now a number of them are down in AZ in their 2nd homes working on their golf games and evening out their "Farmer Tan's". So i only feel for those that winter over because they had to stay here and take care of the "Beef". To keep this comment "On Topic", when they start to head back up here to "Go to Work", we will be heading south, to "Start our Camping Season". 🤣
  12. I would have included a picture from western ND, however the camera "OPERATOR" does not work well when temps are -20° real and -32° with the wind chill. Yes, right now the sun is out, sky's are a slight overcast, and a balmy +2°. We too look forward to the spring and the start of OTT camping season and all the wonderment it will bring.
  13. Do you know, if the "RV as a second home, with all of the applicable tax benefits", contingent on the RV owner "Still" having a mortgage on the principle residence? This will be the first accounting year we are Ollie owners, and we just want to make sure we are aware of this niche of Ollie ownership. We meet with our accountant in a few weeks.
  14. Thank You for the Pic & post. i will add it to our reservation short list when we head south this spring.
  15. R & A, Greetings from North Dakota & Welcome to the Ollie Family.
  16. TG Bill, Thank You. do not let my sense of humor in any way dismiss your sincere response. We have a 2010 GMC 1500, and Wifey will have to be pretty comatose to agree that I need a new TV, just so i now have On-Board TPMS. I have been looking at upgrading to a (new or recent) 3/4 ton, and came close to committing to a used one on the forum a couple of months ago; However the planets were not quite aligned, for it to happen. I will go with the 8 (4+4) remotes & Monitor and continue to look to that elusive truck. And it gives me one more screen to monitor... Not really, Co-Pilot does all that.
  17. Does anyone run TPMS on the TV? Asking for SELF...
  18. John, As usual a most excellent article on something you have either for your TV or TT. And the image in the article you attached, reminds me of the fine line between Safety & sensory overload... Avoiding this, BUT I can relate to this..docx
  19. John, is the link available elsewhere?
  20. Our TV=2010 GMC 1500 ExtCab Sierra SLE, Bed Len = 6’-5” We currently have a soft/roll-able Tonneau Cover, but I am considering a Topper. We carry 2 e-Bikes (broken down to flat), as well as a small prop tbl top grill, some small totes & 5-gl pail containing things needed for setup and stabilization of the trailer, and some extra water if needed. Currently I would have room for a generator and I could throw in a 5# propane bttl for emergencies. All this fits under the soft cover. Which has catches that are protected when I remember to lock the tailgate. With the Tonneau we get some aerodynamic advantage compared to just an open bed. I am thinking with a topper there might be more of an aerodynamic advantage, as well as reducing bug count on the front of the Ollie. I would enjoy not have to breakdown the e-Bikes and would build a rack to stabilize them upright while in transit. Currently we have no dogs to travel with us; however if that were to change (insert Maggie w/smiley face here...), then obviously all the “Stuff” in the second seating area would be moved to the back bed, to accommodate the new occupants… I am interested in what you have and why you made your choice. Bryan,
  21. started new topic, "Topper vs. Soft Tonneau Cover Vs. Hard sectional Cover" Was not trying to hijack this one. Bryan,
  22. until those (Davies et.al.) more knowledgeable than I chime in, here is a thread i found. copy paste into Search Arg, and you will get a good read. Trailer Emergency Breakaway Cable - Original Factory Cable Not Long enough i want to say my cable is about 4' long. sorry i cannot give you an exact measurement, as #665 is across town hibernating. there once was a "Forum'r" who accidently "Stepped" on his, engaging it, he plugged it back in by hand, and drove down the road, with ppl waving at him, until he looked back and saw smoke coming out of wheel wells and realized his brakes were engaged... realizing he did not re-insert properly. i have been very careful not to step on mine. And i will be buying the red "Pig-Tail" type cable. I KNOW NOT WHAT YOU WANT TO HEAR, BUT SOMETHING YOU NEED TO BE CAUTIOUS ABOUT...
  23. At this time, ropes, hoses, electrical (I know not a good combo with Wet...) and other "Utility Stuff" all resides in the drivers’ rear basement. At this time, my only change would be to build a shelf to keep "Electrical" above the "Wet Stuff", maybe adding a slider below the shelf so I utilize more of the basement, and not have to reach in so far to get something that has shifted. Laundry in bag in basket in front closet, along with wash supplies, and we still have room on the closet floor for "Stuff". We have vowed not to let the Ollie become like the Home Based basement, where "Family Treasures" reside for the (adult) Kids to "Claim & Remove"... after we are gone.
  24. ShirMica, What Site # @ DCSP are you in? We were in #62 for our initial stay for factory pickup & "Read the Manual" time. Just trying to get my bearings based upon your pic's. Bryan
  25. If you no not mind, where are you located?
