  1. I had to replace mine. I didn’t have time to order and just stopped by one of our the local RV dealers with a parts department. My replacement is black plastic, Furrion. It was an easy replacement. It looks like what you picked out will work fine. The stainless steel costs about 4 times the one I got. Mine doesn’t look as good but works fine. I did notice that the cover is a separate piece and I think I can reuse my stainless cover. It just hasn’t been high enough on the priority list to replace it! Nobody seemed to notice at the rally…. Mike
  2. Nice interview. That Bastrop fire is still fresh in my mind after all these years. The park is bouncing back in fine fashion!
  3. All of our doors are mirrored. The only one to suffer scratches is the one in the bathroom. I caught that early on and applied some black contact paper to the inside and the problem was solved. People say they don’t want the mirrored doors because they don’t want to look at themselves all the time. I can say that is rarely an issue, we’re always looking somewhere else and even if you glance at a door you have to be at the right angle to see yourself. Mike
  4. I think if you have a little water left on the bottom of the tank there’s no need to worry. It will freeze but won’t cause any damage. Someone can correct me if I’m wrong. I’ve never winterized so I don’t have any direct experience. I drained my fresh tank yesterday and had the same result you did, 19% no matter what I did. Mike
  5. Boerne RV. Boerne TX is just north of San Antonio. Ron is the owner and his wife runs the office. He usually has a couple of techs working with him. Mike
  6. Sad to hear this news. Long time Jimmy Buffet fan, he could always put a smile on your face!
  7. My point, exactly. A good RV repair guy can work on an Oliver. The trick is finding a good RV repair guy! We’re fortunate to have one close by. I will say that after a lot of years and many miles we’ve learned to do a lot of repair work ourselves. Mike
  8. I think there were a total of 14 holes drilled in the top and 4 holes drilled in the ceiling of the bath. Measure twice (or more!) and drill once. Mike
  9. It will be interesting to see the implementation of their plan. For me, it’s not going to change anything. I will continue going to my local family owned RV repair shop. He’s been working on my trailer since early 2017 and also does several other Olivers. A good RV repair guy can effectively work on Olivers even if they aren’t Oliver Factory Trained. Mike
  10. Welcome! Congrats on your “new” Oliver. Hope to meet you out on the road sometime - Mike
  11. The LED light looks like it will be good. We’ll test it out on our next trip coming up fast! This is before the rain shield. After rain shield.
  12. I got my new fan installed today. Checked this thread a couple of times just for sanity checks! I think it’s a worthwhile upgrade. Mike
  13. Steve, it would be nice if that was the issue! I’ll check it today. Mike
  14. Thanks, Sherry. I’ll check it again. Mike
  15. Bryan, I haven’t checked that wire - will do so in the morning when the weather is a bit cooler. Thanks - Mike
  16. Don, thanks for the suggestions. I replaced the 7pin connector, my RV guy checked it when I took it in. Dielectric grease applied. The 7pin fits and is secured by the cover. The Ram dealer checked the controller. The brakes don’t work when the message is on. I haven’t had the message come up when stationary, so I can’t tell if lights are affected. Wiggling the 7pin does nothing. I’m going to crawl under the trailer in the morning (when it’s not 100+ degrees) to “explore”. Mike
  17. This is what I’m thinking as well. I’ll be getting them replaced next month and will let everyone know the result.
  18. While in Colorado this summer I started getting an intermittent “trailer brakes disconnected” message on my dash. Very intermittent. At times I could drive a couple hours and all was good, then the message would come on intermittently for the next hour. It only stays on for anywhere from a few seconds to 20 or 30 seconds and then go off again. When I had the message the trailer brakes were definitely off. I checked the 7 pin connector and looked for loose wires. When we got home I had my local RV guy check the trailer. He found nothing. I took my truck in to the dealer, he checked everything (connector, traced wires, used trailer simulator and drove around, etc) and he found nothing. I just pulled our trailer over to the house to get ready for our next trip and sure enough I got the message couple of times before we got home. In the spring my RV guy recommended we replace the brakes next visit because there’s not much life left. When working they still have good stopping power. I’m thinking after this next trip (home mid-October) I’ll go ahead and have him replace them. My hunch is that it’s something loose or not well connected on the trailer side. Any thoughts? Mike
  19. The only solution I’m aware of is what Steve describes above. I’ve tried bending the clips to create more resistance with some success. I don’t want them permanently mounted because I remove them when I do a deep clean on the window tracks. Mike
  20. An issue that Oliver must address is what John describes. We’ve had doors open, window frames fall off and TV drop. We don’t do much off-roading, this was on crappy interstates and rough backroads. Mike
  21. John, good to hear from you! Glad to hear your health is now on track. I watched all the videos you made with Shane and your Black Series. Enjoy that Explore! Here we are at Quartzsite years ago - Mike
  22. Me too.
  23. I believe mixing (brands) is not an issue if they are both NGLI #2 certified, which is the Oliver recommended grease. Yes, the new grease will push out whatever old grease is still there. Mike
