Not much to do about those cracks - that I know of. However, when my exterior switch covers (for the 110 volt outlet and the rear jacks) started to yellow, I took them off, cleaned them up, rubbed them down with 70% alcohol and then used Krylon gloss white "rattle can" paint on them. That was 3 years ago and they still look new. Bill

This whole discussion reminds me of sitting across from Anita when I was "designing" my Oliver. I told her that I wanted a 12 volt port located right next to the 110 port on the curbside. Anita said, "what for" ? I replied that it would be useful for a number of things such as my air pump used for adjusting air pressure in the tires. Anita said, "why don't you simply slide back the window screen and use the 12 volt outlet in the kitchen"? Part of me had to agree that her approach made financial sense. But, I convinced her to place this request on the order and I'd guess that in now going into the 9th year I've actually used that 12 volt outlet maybe 6 times. But, ya simply gotta do what ya gotta do sometimes. Bill

Sorry to hear about the "issue", but, glad that the Service team had your back. I'd like to say that you'll never do THAT again, but, we have all made mistakes of one sort or the other. Hopefully the cost wasn't too bad. Bill

Basically (like Steve) I've used dry silicone. A couple of times per year is all it takes. Wax will probably work but it is more work to put it on versus using a spray can.😁

If you don't have that "Solar Plug" and still want exterior 12 volt, there are several owners that have installed a plug port similar to the ones on the interior of the Oliver. Usually the location is near the external 120 volt outlet on the curb side rear. Just on the interior from this location there are several 12 volt lines that can be tapped into fairly easily. Or, of course, a new line could be run around the basement back to the fuse box if a dedicated circuit was required. Bill

Yes, there was word that management WAS considering "adjustments", however, I think that it would be best to assume that at least 99% of the original announcement will stand without material change. Bill

One of the benefits of having owned a BMW motorcycle was that it allowed membership in a club known as the BMW Owners of America. In addition to a monthly magazine, available merch, regional and national rallies, there was a paperback booklet published annually that (on a voluntary basis) contained contact information for any member. This also included additional information as to the "services" that a member might provide to other members - such as - camping space, towing, coffee and conversation, tools to borrow, etc.. And, all BMW motorcycle dealers plus repair shops were listed. It sure would be nice to have something like this for our use, but, given the number of Olivers presently on the road I would think that the cost of compiling, printing and distributing such a thing would be fairly heavy. And, this doesn't include the time and effort to put it together in the first place. Bill

I have the EEZTire TPMS and both the spare tire on the Ollie and on my F-150 DO register with this system for both pressure and temperature. Bill

HERE's another air compressor that is getting rave reviews with a couple of YouTuber's actually replacing the ViAir. But, its not so much about the compressor as it is being prepared in the first place. Bill p.s. Besides DeWalt a couple of the other battery powered mfg (like Ryobi) have a similar tool.

Proper training and practice, plus the proper gear combine to make the sport much less "risky". But that can be said for just about anything. Bill

Absolutely! Several Ollie owners do. In fact - as long as you are thinking about getting a spare sensor for the Ollie, why not get two - one for your tow vehicle too. Sure does make checking the tire pressure in both those spares a bunch easier. Bill
