  1. Another alternative (and less costly) is to use the State Park's boondocking sites that are only a short distance down the road from the regular campground. You can call the Park campground and ask about this. Most of the presentations happen in the ballroom of the Lodge. Most of the vendors are down near the campground and, of course, the main attraction is mostly all of the Ollie owners are in the campground. A simple drive down to the campground from the Lodge - park the car/truck - and then a good pair of walking shoes get you to seeing all of the Ollie mods you can imagine plus the vendors. Good luck! Bill
  2. Good for you guys/gals! Backing up really does get easier the more you do it. Hopefully I'll get a chance to meet you at the Rally and buy that time you will be ol' pros at backing the Ollie up. Nice looking rig too! Bill
  3. Instead of making a mark - just lay sticks or identifiable rocks by the tires - the rocks or chalk also works for pavement. Bill
  4. Fishing line - with a "sawing" action slowly (like anyone could really do this sort of stuff fast) move the line down the back of the 3M. Once whatever it is that was stuck with the 3M is off then you can use adhesive remover to get the rest off. Bill
  5. tripmushrv - I quickly scanned your through checklist and my eye caught a couple of items you might want to think about: 1 - your reference 3-1 to use the Andersen WDH you really do not have to be "straight". It is easy to reconnect the Andersen as long as you back up at the same angle or orientation as you were when you disconnected. When I'm at a campground that has a gravel or dirt drive area, I simply find a stick and make a mark in the dirt right by both the front and rear tires. That way when it comes time to re-attach all I have to do is put those tires in the same place and the Andersen goes back on just the way it came off. 2 - your reference 5-9 I'd have to look it up but I believe that Oliver reduced the torque value to between 100 and 110 foot pounds. Certainly is a through list - nice work! Bill
  6. Just let the pups hang out the window and with those eyes they will melt the heart of even the nastiest driver - no problem.🤩 Bill
  7. Don't forget that the area between the hulls gets a "natural' flow of air via the scupper holes in the bottom and the fresh air grill in the cabin. Certainly, Wayfinder's suggestion would speed up the process for new hulls and/or for those of us that need to really get the air flowing in this area for one reason or another. Bill
  8. Sure - but - it will only react to the black propane molecules! 😇
  9. The family has been waiting for you! Let us know if we can help. Bill
  10. Dicor is not a "bad" brand. Have you asked Oliver Service what they use? If you talk "sweet" enough - perhaps they would send you enough to do the door? Bill
  11. If anyone actually goes to this event or if you are near Camp Hale - there is a small stream with a couple of ponds that parallels the main road for roughly a half mile. Stop in one or two of the turn-outs that are there and watch those ponds for a minute or two. At least two beavers reside there! Bill
  12. Curiosity is also the name of the boat that a popular YouTube couple uses for their boat - Gone with the Wynns. Bill
  13. Other than dealing with the "extra" 6 inches or so that the adapter will add I don't see any reasons why it wouldn't work. Bill
  14. And now the real fun begins! Making that shiny new Ollie all YOURS. Congrates! Bill
  15. You will be fine! I'm excited for you. Bill
  16. ditto for what Mike said above. This ain't rocket science unless you want to get real fancy. Bill
  17. One of the "nice" things about retirement is having the time to do things the way that they actually should be done. I've found that taking "short-cuts" actually tends to cost more in the long run. Bill
  18. Really glad you two can make it. Bring bicycles (if you have them), good walking shoes, a camera and note book. Take a look at the State Park's website to get an idea of the things they have to offer - plan on at least one sunset up at the Main Lodge and another down by the lake - both can be magical. When you get to your site, settle in and then find out where and when you can pick up your Rally packet. Take it back to your Ollie and plan your day(s) according to what presentations interest you the most. Don't forget to allow plenty of time just to simply walk around looking at all the Ollies that will be there. Do not hesitate to knock on a door and/or go up to anyone and ask about that thing that caught your eye. There is also a bunch to do in both the little town of Guntersville and the surrounding area. However, make sure that you build in a bit of time to rest, relax and simply enjoy yourselves. Bill p.s. more than likely there will be several of the senior people from Oliver in attendance - to include Scott Oliver. If you see any of these people don't hesitate to introduce yourself. The same goes for the Moderators of this Forum since five out of the six of us will be in attendance. I know that all of us would like to meet you.
  19. YES! - Townesw You might want to send him a private message to see if he will share his design/measurements with you. Good luck! Bill
  20. A "fulcrum " is a wonderful thing. Bill
  21. That water source at Meriwether is located at 35.52419, -87.45465. Note that there is no sewer dump nor electric but Hohenwald is only about 6 miles from this camp. Bill
  22. A drop of Loctite (blue) should take care of that issue. Bill
