Yes, Fish Creek / Rollins Pond is a great campground. Been there many times with the tent & canoe, but have not yet been there with the Ollie. Its on the list!

Enjoy your stay!

So Bill replied to my post on, "We saw an Ollie" and I thought my reply would fit better here, on Where's Ollie" one of my favorite threads (thank you Mike)!

Hope you enjoy the "wall" right outside of Wall (SD).

The views (particularly at dawn and dusk) are spectacular!  Hopefully it is not too crowded there such that you don't get a spot right on the rim. Bill

I believe that is where we are camped, on the BLM land just outside of the west park entrance, heading to and presently 6 miles south of Wall SD.

From our campsite, you need a wide-angle lens or pano-view on your phone (which did not turn out). Walking from our hilltop site, 30 yards toward the dirt road, these are the views. From up here we can easily see 60 miles over the badlands. Love that the wind is from us towards to dirt road, what a great campsite!

Sorry Bill, I don't do dawn unless I'm up all night!  🤣

Dusk will not show a decent sunset since at this time there is not a cloud in the sky. God Bless! we finally got out of the doldrums of the great Midwest and back to bright clear dry western skies, high pressure and higher altitude to keep my head straight.

Chris wants to go to Wall Drug tomorrow, but to me it's like the Ron Jon of SD, less the surfboard stuff! For history and tradition I will attend. I'll get their long-advertised "free ice water" and a couple donuts, to boot!!! 🤣

We passed through SD on our way to Glacier, Grand Teton, and beyond.  We stayed in Spearfish and wish we would have taken a few extra days to visit Badlands.  Oh well, another trip!  Great pics, John.  Enjoy the drug store, I’m sure you’ll find something interesting there!  Mike

This thread was started in May 2016.  There wasn’t a lot of activity on the forum then, just over 100 trailers produced.  Before we left for our pick up in May 2016 someone suggested I start a “Where’s Ollie” thread so folks could post travels and good camping spots.  We picked up Hull 135 on May 10 and started this from our second campsite at Land Between the Lakes on May 17.  28 pages later it’s become a nice spot to see where folks have been thanks to everyone who has contributed.

Our first campsite was at Fall Hollow Campground in Hohenwald, Oliver’s spot for your first night back then.

Doughton Park NC on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

We head to the BRP to beat the heat this time of year. After the hurricane last year, many areas are still closed, but repairs are being made and areas slowing reopening.

No electricity or water at the campsites  but Ollie handles it fine with a portable solar panel.

Directions to Doughton Park, take Rt. 21 to the BRP to the Park.

Enjoying our mid morning coffee and cool weather in Montrose, Colorado at River Bend RV Park. Still meandering westward. A couple of days ago we visited The Garden of the Gods outside of Colorado Springs and saw an Oliver from Florida in the parking lot. After our park visit we waited but unfortunately we didn’t get to see the owners.

June 1996 we stayed in a cabin at 10K ft on the Salida side. Chris and I had headaches the whole week not being used to altitude at the time. Drove to Gunnison one morning, fog on the pass, was quite scary. Would not want to be there during winter like Mike!

We didn’t make it as far as the Black Canyon, but should make up for that Thursday of this week! 😂

Joe & Mindy, not sure which direction you’re traveling, but there will be two Olivers at Riverbend RV Montrose Wed-Thu this week. One will be there much longer, the retired guy with his better half!

Wow, I skipped the word ‘June’ when reading, focusing on the picture! Our trip was June too, fog where I could only see at most 30 yards ahead!

The more travel pics of Oliver owners, the better, something we can all agree on. But what just happened to us recently makes this thread special and I’m certain similar connections have been made over the last 9 years!

Ken and I have been friends, communicated since their previous trip west when he and MK came to our home last September. We had a quick great day together, night at a local steakhouse! We also met up for a day during the Texas Rally.

I knew he had an appointment with Alcan but did not add up their timing and travel route until he posted his Montrose camp picture here yesterday. I just made a reservation at the same park and we’ll soon have a couple days together!

Thanks again Mike! I know  you and Carol are great friends with them. Please keep this thread going and It’s up to all of you reading to do so!

Manti - La Sal National Forest, Devils Canyon CG, Utah...45 degrees this AM (furnace on)  woohoo!  Spending the night in a hotel in Moab for 41st wedding anniversary and doing the tourist thing.  We tackled some awfully wicked hiking trails today in Canyonlands NP and will need some time to recover tonight. :classic_happy:

We're back home now. We did a Salida, Gunnison, Montrose, Grand Junction, Moab, Telluride, Durango loop in May and early June. Riverbend was on my list but we stayed at Black Canyon of the Gunnison instead. It was great...I'm sure you'll enjoy the park!

Mike, I'm quite glad it was sunny the day we drove that pass...it was enough of an experience without all that haha. Joe is always ready to eject me from the passenger seat when driving in the mountains! 😏
