  1. Dewdev, Any state parks in Florida especially those on the coasts need to be booked well in advance. I made reservations in March and April and had very limited choices and in some instances needed to move sites within some of the campgrounds. I believe Florida State Parks allow reservations at 11 months for out of state residents. You might want to check on this as I am not 100% sure. The State Parks have been very full. I believe Florida residents can reserve 12 months in advance. We are at Fort Pickens National Seashore tonight and tomorrow night. This is a National Park by Pensacola Beach. This is a really cool area. The dunes and scenery in this park is just so different from Maine. The campground is nothing special but the park and fort is very cool and worth the visit. We have a good site, A 30. This park is not great for big rigs due to over hanging trees and short sites. Perfect for the Ollie. I wish we had a few more days here. Florida parks fill up early. Also a lot of Canadians winter in Florida. We purchased the National Park Senior lifetime pass. This is well worth it. Free admission to the National Parks and 50% off camping at the National Parks. They also provide 50% off at Core of Engineer Parks. Our COE stays have run between $10 and $14 a night so far. Generally they have been terrific parks. We have another COE coming up in Waco at the end of the month. Our next 2 are at private campgrounds. 4 nights at Dauphin Island, Alabama and a week at French Quarter RV park in New Orleans. Then McKinney Falls State Park in Austin TX. There are a lot of websites or apps for camping. We have been using RV Parky. We try to say in parks rated 4 stars or better. I read the reviews and focus on the recent feedback. This may not be the best app but it is free. We are currently have sites booked through early February. I am concerned about the ability to get sites as we get near southern AZ, Grand Canyon, and the National Parks in Southern Utah. We will also look for some BLM sites in those areas. I just haven't figured out our literary yet. Today a park host mentioned a cool site east of Tucson where there are some caves etc. We probably wouldn't have known to check this out. I want to have some flexibility to check out some of these spots. We recently had a good night at a Harvest Host in Tallahassee. A classic car and collectables museum. The museum was awesome. The parking facility was good, 7 total RVs that night. It was a bit noisy on a busy street right near I 10. We knew about the noise when we booked it. It was a good stop and are glad we stopped there. Harvest Host require reservations but I have been making these just a few days in advance. The Oliver brings lots of interest. Lots of positive comments. 1 or 2 folks have been a little over zealous. One guy just had to stop us as we were backing into our site. We asked him to wait but the second we got the Ollie backed in he was all over us. No chance to unhook or set up. He had no clue and asked if his compact station wagon could tow the Ollie. Most have been very cool and we are handing out brochures. 2 of our neighbors here are very nice and cool. We are meeting some nice people and most have interesting stories and experiences to share.

  2. Started doing that right after I got on here. Took me a bit to figure out that hitting 'replies' would let me see the latest replies for a topic, vs clicking and scrolling. So much of this stuff is limited by the website solution software they implemented vs just buying forum specific software. Few forum software packages seem to have good search tools. But overall, it's not too bad and easy to read.

  3. FYI: For those making late reservations and the choices are slim or none, there an area called "Town Creek Campground" that is primitive camping only. It is down the road a ways from the main campground, but it is an opportunity to boondock and still attend the rally. Mossey

  4. Boondocking in Quartzsite, AZ. Found a nice spot at Hi Jolly and a open mic session broke out on the rear deck of the neighbor’s RV. Its amazing the things you can find away from hookups.

  5. We used Banana Banners, out of Bowdoin, Maine, as well as a few others. Talked to her, gave her an idea what we wanted. She showed us a picture, with some improvements. Gave the approval, and received the graphic in a tube. After pick-up, at a campsite, it took longer to clean the area with denatured alcohol than to apply the graphic. No bubbles, no problems. Impressed me as it is a compound curved area.

  6. Our Dometic went out about one week after the expiration of the warranty. Dometic would not extend the warranty, nor did they have a replacement board. We looked everywhere for a replacement board. We had a local RV repair shop look as well. I was able to locate a board that was close, but never the exact one. And, because we were never able to get an upper board, we were not confident that it wasn’t the lower board, or a combination of the two since they apparently work together. We ended up having to replace the entire fridge, for lack of a $100 to $200 part(s)! We got lots of help from Oliver service, and zero from Dometic. We now have a Norcold and are happy with it. The thermistor did go out, but Norcold paid to have our local RV shop replace it under warranty. The Norcold is a better design than the Dometic; if the fridge goes bad, it has a backup mode that keeps the fridge cold right above freezing to help prevent food loss. And Norcold service is exceptional. Wait times to talk to someone are reasonable and they actually offer help. I now know why Oliver switched to Norcold away from the Dometic.

  7. I moved the coax from the Ollie Cable hookup to the Ollie Satellite hookup. The Jensen tv has found 123 stations- and still going. Hope it works now.

  11. I have been reading forum postings for nearly two years and have come across a wealth of useful information. In preparation for delivery of our LEII on 1/18/22, I have often wanted to retrieve information I had previously read, or to conduct a new search on a particular topic. Searching the forum postings using the native search capabilities has proven to be very frustrating and seldom producing the desired information. My son reminded me Google's search engine can be used to search within websites. To search the Oliver Travel Trailer Forums do the following: In your preferred browser, open a new tab and enter to the web address search box: google.com In the Google search box enter the URL of the forums followed by any number of search terms: site: https://olivertraveltrailers.com/forums term1 term2 term3 Where term1, term2 and term3 are your search terms, separated by spaces. Use search terms just as you would when conducting any Google search. Following the URL of the forums you may include any of the web search refinements available for a Google search. See: https://support.google.com/websearch/answer/2466433?hl=en Examples site: https://olivertraveltrailers.com/forums tongue storage box site: https://olivertraveltrailers.com/forums tongue weight site: https://olivertraveltrailers.com/forums storage ideas -facility site: https://olivertraveltrailers.com/forums lagun table Overland site: https://olivertraveltrailers.com/forums mudflaps OR mud flaps site: https://olivertraveltrailers.com/forums basement heating site: https://olivertraveltrailers.com/forums heat ducts Minnesota Oli site: https://olivertraveltrailers.com/forums TPMS site: https://olivertraveltrailers.com/forums hitch lock OR collar I expect you will find the Google search results much more useful.

  12. My bad! I thought you fixed the fridge, but now I get it. You fixed the part number! That’s why I’d rather talk than type or text.😎 Mossey

  17. Here's a pretty easy project for owners of the Nature's Head toilet - a step to make the seat a more reasonable height. It's a slightly modified version of this new step from Squatty Potty. Since it's wood, it looks a lot better than the original plastic one, and also makes it pretty easy to modify. I wanted something that wouldn't take up most of the floor, so that we could leave it out and not have to worry about where to store it, so I scribed and cut notches on the legs to match the floor offset. That way it sits flush against the toilet and leaves plenty of room. As a bonus, the factory cutout matches the front of the Nature's Head pretty well without any modification. The legs do fold, so you could use it right out of the box if you wanted, and would be relatively easy to store - or just tip it up against the toilet. But making the notches and resealing it was a simple task and I kind of like that it looks a bit custom. It's polyurethaned and the hardware is chromed, so I suppose you could leave it out when showering, but it's easy enough to just prop it up behind the shower curtain so I'm sure that's what we'll do. I wish it were stained a bit darker to match the shower mat, but I wasn't concerned enough about it to bother with the sanding and staining. For a quick, two hour project, I think it turned out pretty well, and ended up just about the perfect height.

  18. Thompsonkd, are you still under warranty? When did you pick up your Ollie? Pretty sure you have a two year warranty on your dometic, at least on parts?

  19. When we disassembled and parted our dometic, I gave Scubarx / Steve our eyebrow board, which was only a month old. You can pm him. He might or might not still have it. It's almost 3 years ago. He keeps a lot if stuff in his truck, to help others. Good guy.

  20. That’s the black box under the dinette. Open the door and make sure your fridge fuse is in the #1 position. I think I read where some trailers are set up different. Then pull the fuse that is used for the fridge. In my case it is the fuse in the first position.

  21. Pull fuse #1 (20amp) in pdc. Remove the circuit board from the upper panel and blow off the dust with compressed air. Spray the switches liberally with electrical contact cleaner while working the power switch on/off. Let dry for a few minutes and try it.

  22. We haven’t hit it yet, but Kim jammed a butter knife into the on button to get more “traction “ on the button. It’s done this before, and then just started working. We figure it’s the eyebrow board, and are trying to find one. Any other ideas, let us know! Thanks everyone.

  23. Mine did that - I held the button in for a little longer - then got pissed, smacked it, tried it again, and it worked all summer.... GOFIGURE......

  24. thompsonkd, did you check for 12v at the fridge? My guess would be the eyebrow board, just because ours gave us trouble, but that's a "guess." There are two control boards. The eyebrow, and the lower main board. There are a number of reasons that you might not be getting power. You can Google and find the technical manual online for almost any appliance, these days. I found one for both our norcold, and our dometic. But, they're written usually for several models, and the newer rm2454 is slightly different from the older models, as I recall. You'll find much more complete troubleshooting and diagrams in the tech manual than the user manual. But, it's made for technicians, obviously, so it's not easy for all users to follow. Good luck. Sorry you're having trouble, especially on a holiday weekend. Sherry

  25. The converter panel under the dinette table has 12v DC fuse and a 120v AC breaker for the refrigerator. Is the 12v DC fuse good or is it blown? Is the 120v AC breaker tripped? And as David mentioned, be sure to verify the refrigerator is plugged into the AC outlet underneath the sink. Do you have the ability to test 12v DC or 120v AC circuits? Mossey

  26. Check the power cord behind the drawers below the sink. You will need to remove luan backing and will see the outlet and the plug. If you find the plug loose then I would zip tie the outlet.

  27. Dean, their boards are great. Our neighbor fixed his 20+ year old dometic fridge with a dinosaur board. When we were looking, dinosaur didn't have our needed board. It could be different now, years later.

  29. Do your other 12v and 110 outlets work? Are you plugged into 110? Have you checked that you actually have power to the fridge outlet? The eyebrow board on our Dometic rm2454 gave us fits in the last year if its life. I sometimes had to hold the start button in, or duct tape it down. Also, check the connection on the end of the eyebrow board. It seems that you are not getting power to the board, or the board is bad. We had to buy a new eyebrow, about two and a half years in, from a dealer in Arizona . It started acting up about two months after the 2 year warranty.

  30. Hello. We have a 2018 Oliver Elite 2, with a Dometic 3 way fridge. When trying to turn it on it does not respond - no lights come on the control panel. We have checked the plug, the breaker, the fuse - all good. We pulled off the panel on the top of the fridge and checked the board - nothing was loose. We are not just pushing buttons quickly - we know it needs patience - but we just can’t get it to respond. Any ideas? It is stored at a lot and we were trying to cool down the fridge before we headed on the road tomorrow morning.

  31. So, I took a break from hunting down a couple of tiny motors for our solar vents on the boat, and researched your eyebrow board. None of my usual sources have it. One company, that I've never ordered from, and has mixed reviews, suggests that it is discontinued, and the lower control board must also be replaced to function with a replacement board. Plus, disconnecting the igniter, and thermocouple , as they are now integrated into the lower control module?. This company, in Oregon, sells both as a kit. They also charge a big restocking fee, if you guess wrong, at what you need. Because none of my usual sources have the board you're looking for, it may just be true. Maybe Dometic consolidated all the changes across the varying parts/years into a standardized system, changing both boards. I don't know, as I haven't had a dometic fridge in 4 years. If it were me, I'd get back on the phone with Dometic tech services (it can be a very long wait/hold time...) and investigate further. If it's so, perhaps Dometic has both of the newer boards in stock. Or, if they can give you the part numbers, you may find them on Amazon, or Dyers, Panther, or Adventure rv, or even someone local. Make sure you have the model and serial number on hand when you call Dometic. I usually take a photo of the label on the fridge, so I don't transpose numbers writing them down. Maybe you'll get a more helpful tech, this time around. I feel your pain. I've spent probably 10 hours looking for two tiny motors for the solar vents on our boat. I found them, in Germany, but the company won't ship to USA or Canada. I may have to resort to "phone a friend ," get them shipped to a friend in the eu, and pay for forwarding. At least the replacements would be German made. A lot of hassle for 2 parts costing 12 euros each. However, replacement vents would be over $200 each. Marinco doesn't stock or sell replacement parts. They used to, but no longer, and the units are solid, other than the dinky motors.
