  1. Hello! I introduced myself once before but now I actually have my brand new Oliver Legacy Elite Hull #1241 “OSerenity” picked up 9/12/22 in Hohenwald. I live in central Ohio but plan to do extensive traveling. I’ve been having major problems with my lithium batteries so I’ll be posting separately about that. I’m excited to be a part of the Oliver family.

  2. We heard from our friends, they had a very long night but survived. No power, but they are ok.

  3. We're already at about a million without power here in Florida. It will be many, many more, by tomorrow. But, we have an army of electric company trucks from many states staged here, from elsewhere, ready to help. We can't thank those men and women enough. Every hurricane, they are our heroes, restoring quality of life. At often a risk to theirs. This is a very, very big storm. Those in the path, and especially south, have experienced unusually extreme flooding. 12 to 18 feet. And, as Ian took a late hook, many were caught by surprise, further south from north Tampa Bay, original landfall prediction. If you are a visitor in a coastal area, and you wind up within the cone of possibility, please, go north. Hard to say northeast or northwest, because this particular storm will probably dump in North Carolina this weekend or early next week. Orlando will get a bad storm tomorrow. But, north and inland, and higher ground,, is better than coastal, with storm surge. How and where to go "the other way" is tough to predict, but follow the weather reports as you go north. Then, choose east or west. This storm, like Charley 04, was supposed to strike Pinellas county dead on. But turned, again, to Lee and Charlotte. You can't outrun it, trailerin or not, at the last minute. Too big a storm, no way. And, you'll be in the way. Just go, at the earliest warning. Especially if on or near the coast. How it works, with a major hurricane brewing. You get a cone. ( this time, most of the state) and a bunch of spaghetti models. Take your pick. Early on, none are all that good, but, that's your warning. Make sure you have a full gas tank, and charged batteries, and food and water, any time you stop. And keep your phones charged. (Major grocery stores, and many gas stations, have been closed, up and down the west coast of Florida since yesterday afternoon. Some gas stations were running out as early as Sunday. ) We worked for 5 days on our house, our daughter's, and our friends'. We're all good, and thank you to those who reached out. Now. We're home, unpacking, and very concerned for our neighbors to the south, who got the giant cone warning, like most of the west coast, but 6 hours' notice to get out, when Ian took a hook. They are all in my prayers. And, I hope you'll keep them in yours. Wherever you go, wherever you live, you need a plan. And you must be flexible, as weather dictates.

  4. Welcome! I also struggled to understand all the different systems and how they work with each other. My confusion led me to think that things were broken when they actually just needed a button pushed or setting changed. Definitely call OTT service (they call that "opening a ticket") for any question, or put it up here on the forum. Like they say, there's no such thing as a dumb question.

  5. Welcome, Lisa. Between Lithionics, Oliver service and some folks here your battery issue should just be a bump in the road. Let us know how we can help. Mike

  6. Perhaps its getting to be a little late but thought and prayers are with all of you located within the path of this storm. Please be as safe as you can. For those not familiar with these storms, the predictions of the track of the hurricane is still not certain. This makes it difficult for those wishing to travel away from the major impacts. Bill

  7. 2019 F-150 3.5 EB, 10 Speed, FX4 Lariat: Houston to OR to AK and back over four months, 15,500 miles, 61 fuel stops (Love the 36 gallon tank!), 1,149 gallons of fuel (87 octane 10% ethanol) costing $6,097 USD, and ran speed limits minimum and almost always higher. Got 13.5 overall MPG. 90% of the miles were towing Ollie OEII. GJ

  8. Just bought this one from Costco, it's on sale now for a couple weeks. It has good reviews and I found a good video on Youtube that shows break-in procedures. https://www.costco.com/a-ipower-1800w-running2300peak--powered-by-yamaha-inverter-generator.product.100653776.html Once I get it hooked up I'll post results.

  11. 1.8 million now, without power. Numbers will increase tomorrow, in all likelihood, as Ian moves on. Most people in Charlotte, Collier, Lee, and many in Sarasota and Manatee counties have no power. Many others are out as well in nearby counties. So, if you are worried for family or friends there, they may not be able to contact you, or receive your messages. Last I saw, almost 200 cell towers were down, as well. They'll likely be up in good time. For tonight, it's a huge mess. I hope tomorrow brings good news, with the daylight.

  12. Good advice for any situation, from a campground to a nightclub. In an emergency the masses will try to exit the way they came in, potentially blocking it. Always note the emergency exit routes near you. We spent more than a week living in our driveway in a previous trailer after Hurricane Irene. Much more comfortable than our power-less house.

  13. Your surge protector is under the rear dinette seat. That's just the box with the electronics. You also have an electronic readout screen inside the rear cabinet, streetside. It displays codes that mean different things. Check out the manual for the code definitions and other operating info. It seems to be a competent surge protector, and you won't need any others.

  18. Wanting to delete carrying any gasoline in our truck bed, we recently purchased an eu3000is and I installed this LP conversion kit by Hutch Mountain -https://www.hutchmountain.com/collections/propane-natural-gas-conversions/products/honda-eu3000is-propane-natural-gas-gasoline-tri-fuel-conversion-kit As soon as you install this retro fit LP conversion just know that it cancels the Honda factory warranty since it’s not a Honda endorsed product. Hutch Mountain customer service is excellent and assured me that they have never had issues with running LP, LNG or gas in this configuration. The reviews are pretty strong at 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟. Per HM - Extended Runtimes on 30lb propane tank: Full load-10hrs, half load-20hrs, quarter load-30hrs FullSizeRender.MOV My wife (copilot) and I can both manage to lift this into the gen tray or our TV bed. We plan to carry this in in the bed and not in the gen tray as it weighs in at 130# dry. We could carry it in the gen tray as per a phone call to Oliver Service this morning the gen tray is rated for 150#. We conducted our first gen test the other day and the now LP eu3000is performed flawlessly. Not a bad lift onto our tail gate.💪🏻 It runs super quiet, fits in the gen tray with actually a little room to spare. Naturally if you are splitting hairs on cargo capacity with additional weight this size gen configuration may not be for you.

  20. One option may be to use this external soft start. [Link Deleted] It acts much like the wired EasyStart you may be familiar with, but it plugs directly inline with your trailer’s 30-amp power cord. It has a capacitor to compensate for the start-up surge of the compressor, but also operates as an external surge protector and smart shunt that allows smartphone monitoring of incoming power (voltage and current). We currently use one with our Dometic Penguin IIs on our Airstream 30 and plan to use it on our Oliver, once we take delivery in April. Currently we have two of the old Honda 2000s we can run in parallel with the SoftStartUp if both ACs are needed, or just one if we just need to take out a bit of heat/humidity. Since these generators take up ample bed space in our TV, we are hoping to get our hands on the new Honda 3200i, which is plenty to run the OTT off grid when needed and will free up a bit more room to help us downsize (right size) from our Airstream.

  21. @Patriot, virtually no one in Collier County has power. Marco had severe flooding, like much of the surrounding area. I hope that tomorrow you will hear that they are ok.

  22. We have dear friends with a home on Marco Island located on a large canal and with a fairly large boat docked at their home. Marco Island is now under curfew and we have not heard from them since 3:30 pm today. They opted to ride the storm out ugh. Reported storm surge of 8-10’. Needless to say are very concerned about their safety.

  23. For future reference if you ever need to change that fuse, here’s a pic of the fuse holders for the three jacks (the three yellow inline fuse holders). Located under the access hatch under street side (driver’s side) bed on our 2019 Elite II. I can’t guarantee that yours will be in exactly the same place since I’m starting to think that no two Olivers are built exactly the same, especially in the early years 😂.

  24. hbschof: I wax over my decals. I have a 2018 Elite II and I have never seen any oxidation (like I would see in my past older boats) on the fiberglass but in the spring there is some dark water stains on the sides that come off the roof (I guess from dirt on the roof) after sitting all winter. A good wash lightens the water stains and I then use the Meguiars 67 One step compound. A light application takes off the water stains very easily. I then put on a coat of the Flagship Professional Marine Wax.

  25. The Ollie is also a handy stay-at-home resource in the event you are not expecting a severe enough impact in your area to evacuate, but might be subject to power outage or drinking water shortages. Many years ago, when a storm was threatening the San Antonio area and everyone was clearing the store shelves of drinking water, I simply filled my fresh water tank with potable water. If electricity were to go out for and extended time, I would have pulled The Wonder Egg out from under the parking shelter and the solar system would have taken care of that issue. An impromptu driveway campout . . .

  26. This storm is going to be a rough one to say the least the Governor's office said millions will be without power. Thoughts and prayers for a hedge of protection to all in its path.

  29. For those going to the Oliver rally in Alabama, early June might be a challenge. We’re retired so we can stay out for extended periods. Also, no cell service is no problem, we often camp unconnected. It can be restful! Mike

  30. Sorry, the lack of cell signal is a killer, my wife needs that for her work, and I would also prefer a location further away from a major metropolitan center.. That close to Denver means that area would be literally packed with summer visitors . I would love to attend an event in Durango in June or later, so I could spend some time exploring the way-up-high Alpine Loop 4wd routes in the San Juans. There are so very many cool things to do in that area… steam train, Ouray hot springs, Telluride, Million Dollar Hwy, Jeep/ATV rentals, it is one of my most favorite areas in Colorado, when the air is breathable. A close second is Dinosaur NM. John Davies Spokane WA

  31. That's on par with everyone it seems. We had to use a mediator on a family lawsuit with my wife's family and he charged $500/hour. Mediation took about 10 hours!
