  1. On final night of rally the great blue heron and goose say…. Have you ever seen such large eggs? Sun sets on this years Oliver rally!

  2. Bosker and I really enjoyed this year's Guntersville Oliver Rally. Well done Ollie team! Bosker especially enjoyed his cameo on the Morning Coffee at Oliver, with Aaron and Jason.

  3. After having the guys at CGI buff, polish and ceramic coat XPLOR I will never buff or wax the exterior again. It also helps storing it in our Ollie Hangar. It truly looks better than the day we took delivery.

  4. Well stated. I believe that OTT tries at all times to "Do What's Right". I wish many other firms would have their amazing integrity. GJ

  5. Dean, they were also too far away for me, almost as far as the OTT Rally and both are beyond our means. I spent time looking around online, thinking there should be somebody in the Phoenix Valley that would do this work closer to home. One company wouldn't even look at our hull due to its age. They only coat brand new vehicles, so no extra prep/paint correction (or gel coat) work included. Then talking to my autobody painter, he referred me to a local auto specialist who works paintless dent repairs, other detailing and custom ceramic coating, but he won't work with wax! I observed a few examples of CGI work at the 1st Texas Rally. Beautiful work, but sticker-shock was more my gut feeling. Their Oliver website page states "starting at $3K" and one advertisement stated another $400, shared travel cost per trailer, when they travel to do their work at a rally. My guy quoted $85/ft for the full length of the trailer, 23 1/2 ft hitch to bumper. He said, "That's what it's worth and more would be over-charging." His industrial shop (he works on semi-trucks too) is just 20 miles from our home. Cameron worked on our trailer himself over a 2-week period and into Thanksgiving holiday, because he wanted "another couple of days to get it right." It sure came out GREAT! Our Oliver sits in the Arizona sun 24x7x365. Ceramic coating it designed to repel UV rays and after 11 months she's still shiny. I'll go back for the annual service regularly. I only suds spray and pressure wash after trips when it really needs it. My arms, shoulders and body will not be used to wash or wax our hull, never have, never will. I'd rather replace trailer axles (done that) than spend a couple of hours with a buffing machine. And no wax required on ceramic. The restorer in me wanted to get everything else exterior done before, during and after! I waited over 2 years to work the exterior, letting it get pasty while doing all the interior mods (exterior restoration post linked below). We're going back soon for the annual "decontamination rinse and polishing." I expected it to be in the hundreds but he just quoted me $185 for the annual. Wow, something costing less than what you would expect is a rare case today. 😎 Maybe there's the right guy in your part of Colorado! Best wishes, JD

  6. @topgun2 I've read about (and would like to attend) the Texas Rally, but somehow I never heard of the Florida Rally. Is there a section of the forum (or the website) where these are featured? Since they seem largely organized by owners, I would think the forum is the better place (maybe I've just not discovered it yet).

  7. I have been looking in Wisconsin. I ceramic coated my TV as a trial - its worth it in that case. On the Oliver it would make cleanup and annual maintenance so, so much easier. I have made a couple of local inquiries, sent pictures, the whole 9 yards. So far, they never call me back. I don't know but in retirement I tend not to chase after people. If they dont want the business or have the courtesy to reply then guess I am better off.

  8. Hi Patriot, Your trailer looks great, and I wish I lived close enough to have CGI do some work on mine. I really like your hangar, and I have enough space on our mountain property to potentially build something similar. Would you mind sharing the make, model, and dimensions of your hangar? Thanks, Dean

  11. I will add my own ORF musings! I think we all embrace any technology that is capable of making our lives easier, as long as we can figure it out. My first bite of the Victron apple was adding a BMV 712 battery monitor and I continue to add Victron equipment as I find it beneficial to maximize my battery usage. And Victron’s technical support is truly world class. And if you have any doubts about smartphones making you stupid, just leave it at home when you head out camping! After all, the only phone number I remember off the top of my head is 911! Mossey

  12. Made it to Arches and Devils Garden Campground. First time here and this is a great campground and a stunning area.

  13. I have created a Google My Map of known Oliver owner rallies as well as a link to the fiberglass RV Map maintained by another. For that external map, see the RED star icon in the Atlantic ocean. It will take you to the google map for general fiberglass rallies for 2027. The map I created is a private map, and only those with the link will be able to find it. Then again, this is an open forum, so forget what I said. All this info is public knowledge. https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1dsUQmPEsXOhV3KgTIkwI1QzIeWChkCw&ll=38.15274742744178%2C-102.1311338875&z=5 This should be for open rallies only. If you want a private rally, then don't tell anyone you don't want to show up. 😉 A life lesson. Let me know if you want anything added or suggestions for changes.

  14. Less than 10 attendees have requested the list - so far. Note that this list may not be available at the Rally in printed form. Therefore if you would like to know where attendees are located in the campground - shoot me your email address and I'll do my best to get you a copy via return email. Bill

  15. For rallies. I have recently discovered someone trying to maintain at RV LIFE Community / fiberglassrv.com, or simply Google "rvlife rally map" and find the current year's listening. 2027 rallies: https://www.fiberglassrv.com/threads/2027-rally-map.2181770/ Google Maps directly for 2027: https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/viewer?mid=1I8mtXQU3Pky2XBNV9VoyNyjY9i-XWPw&ll=42.650591549794484%2C-101.6669803122351&z=4 I've recently attended, or will be attending, these fiberglass rallies: Falling for Fiberglass: https://www.facebook.com/groups/fallingforfiberglass Thanksgiving in the woods: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1249062990470466 Eggs on the Hiawassee: https://www.facebook.com/groups/eggsonthehiawassee/ Spirit of the Suwannee: not sure of site yet. All great rallies. If the weather is cool enough, the boondocking/overflow at Hiawassee is not bad, but again, weather dependent. Some time people double up on sites too if site renters allow it. This end of year is pretty full for me for rallies, but more to come. Next year we're likely leaving Hiawassee a day early to head up to the Maine Oliver mini rally in Boothbay. Richard is the organizer, PM me if you want his contact info.

  16. Update! Aaron Wolters from Oliver has kindly provided me with a list of registered Rally attendees for this year's rally. If you are attending the Rally and would like a copy, PM (private message) me with your email address and I will try to get this list to you via email. In addition, I will (hopefully) get the list to a printer and will have copies available at the Rally either at my site (B-03) and/or at registration. Bill p.s. note - there are currently 235 registered attendees.

  17. We have done the list the last three years. After talking to Scott Oliver and Matt last year, they were going to try to include that information with the welcome package. So no, I am not collecting details this year. Due to a scheduling conflict with a building project here at home, we have canceled our reservations. FYI Rally attendees: After seeing the above posts I did a little bit of poking around in order to see IF this list was actually being produced for this year's Owners Rally. Well, given that I would guess that Scott Oliver delegated this job of producing an attendee list with campsite numbers to Matt Duncan, and that Matt Duncan no longer works at Oliver, the communication chain had a good likelihood of being broken. Hopefully I will be able to obtain the information we need with enough time to get copies and have them available at the Rally. However, if there is someone that you really want to meet up with, it might be advisable to contact them ahead of time to find out exactly where they will be at the Rally. In this vein - I will be in site B-03 from late Tuesday afternoon through Sunday night (October 21 through October 25). Bill

  18. We happened to be camping at Stone Mountain SP NC a few weeks ago when the Carolina Casitas were having a gathering, they invited us to join their Facebook group, so we did! Nice group of folks. Hope to attend Eggs on the Hiawassee River GA gathering held during June. They also have a Facebook group. We attended a couple of Hungry Mother SP VA Fiberglass gatherings attended by various fiberglass owners including Ollie owners. If I remember correctly one of the Oliver owners attending had a hand in making Peach and Cherry cobblers, too! 🙂

  20. In addition to the Oliver regional rallies, there are also fiberglass rallies with more and more Olivers in attendance. Here in Ohio, the Casitas of Ohio put on a spring kick-off fiberglass rally and a fall rally. This past spring there were five Oliver’s in attendance out of maybe 20-25 total trailers. The Florida Eggs n S’mores fiberglass rally in January had at least a dozen Oliver’s. Hungry Mother fiberglass rally in Western Virginia had five Olivers. And there are similar rallies all over the country.

  21. My temporary fix is working well enough and may tweak a bit for a more permanent solution, since parts are not readily available.

  22. Good news, I just solved the electrical mystery about 1-hour ago. It turns out that one of the electrical connectors going to the master light switch had fractured and when I pulled on the wire the female end remained connected to the switch. I replaced the connector, reattached the wire and all lights are now functioning. I am so glade it was not a problem with a wire in the wall. Thanks to all who provided thoughts and recommendations. I am sure it is not the last challenge I will face given the Ollie basically experiences a 4 or 5 on the Richter scale each time it gets towed. Also, I have added a multimeter to my Ollie tool box. The forum is a great place to go to learn and find support.

  24. Mostly, people use it for doing dishes, and washing dogs, from what I've seen. And yes, we've actually used it as an outdoor shower. But noone uses it in the winter, I'm sure.😅
