Today we toured the Great Sand Dunes NP which finishes out seeing all (4) NPs here in beautiful Colorado. A convergence of a whole lot going on with nature that created these massive dunes. The scenery almost looks fake it’s so beautiful. It was 69d and sunny which suited us perfectly. Onward to New Mexico tomorrow. Patriot🇺🇸 The truth. My bride!

Thanks Max! This has been an incredible trip. Wolf Creek Pass yesterday was just beautiful! 🇺🇸🇺🇸

During our present trip touring the (4) gorgeous Colorado NP’s and a few Service Parks our Atwood CO/LP detector started alarming and would not reset. Of course it alarmed in the middle of the night. 😄 I removed the detector and saw that it had a manufacture date of 2018. We took delivery of our new OLE2 in June of 2020. So our Atwood detector was actually 5 years old. I called Oliver and asked about purchasing/shipping me a replacement. Mike Sharpe said they are no longer installing the Atwood’s and Oliver is now installing RV Safe model #RVCOLP-2W CO/LP detectors. So not wanting to go a day longer without a detector I opted to just buy local and made a call to a local RV dealer in Montrose CO. They said they had plenty on hand. I swapped out the old Atwood and installed the RV Safe and we are back in business with no alarms. The new RV Safe detector comes with a choice of (2) backing plates. So Pro tip- If you have to replace the old Atwood use the larger backer plate that comes with the RV Safe detector as it will take cover the hole in the hull wall under the dinette that the Atwood required. It’s a pretty straight forward clean install. Onward!! Patriot🇺🇸

@FLYnGATOR Congrats, first off, on retirement!! It is a beautiful time in life where you are free to do the things YOU want to do. Here are a few suggestions. As much as possible DO NOT take delivery on a Friday. If you have an issue Oliver service is closed over the weekend and you will burn two days sitting at Camp Oliver waiting to get your issue addressed on Monday. Another suggestion is to consider few extra days at David Crockett SP to do your shakedown of your new Oliver. A few days spent at the SP will allow you to familiarize yourself with your Oliver. While at Oliver Service, go through every system, push every button and make sure EVERYTHING works. If you have an issue and new Olivers can have issues, you are close enough to OTT to get it addressed before heading home. Before heading home, take as much time as you can. Now is the time to hit the books and watch the videos in Oliver University. This gave us an edge up delivery day. Oliver goes to great lengths to provide this info and the more you learn the better it gets. Scour this forum. There are lots of pro tips and suggestions on mods that will help you make your Ollie your own. Enjoy delivery day, and get out and travel!!! 😊 Patriot🇺🇸

The rig has had a few washings in various parts of CO. And we have had only a day or two of light rain in the last few weeks. We were busy finding a lunch spot, a little shopping, hit the farmers market and rode the Gondola, so I can’t speak to the CG at the end of Main. A great day! Onward!

On our way over to Cortez CO we detoured into the town of Telluride aka “ski meca” with our Ollie in tow and actually scored a spot to park right on Main Street. The Aspens are just popping in peak color in many areas. We enjoyed a great lunch in town and took the free gondola ride up the mountain. It was short sleeve weather and really a great day. We will do a little exploring in Mesa Verde NP today. Onward!🇺🇸 Telluride from the mountain side State route 145 is a really beautiful drive especially this time of year.

You can actually drive down and access the river at the bottom of the Black Canyon via the east portal. With a month here next week and all the hiking we have done we have not seen one rattle snake in camp or on the trails. Onward! Patriot🇺🇸

Thank you Bill for your encouraging words! 😊 Cortez CO weather looks like it’s going to be amazing. Mid 70’s full sun for a daily high. Nice cool nights in the upper 30’s to 40. We are looking forward touring Mesa Verde NP and the Great Sand Dunes NP. This will round out our NP goal here in CO with our Park PP stamped. 😊 Rocky Mountain NP CO National Monument - (a National Park Service) Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP, Mesa Verde NP - soon. Great Sand Dunes NP - soon.

Reaching New Heights- Yesterday we drove through the Black Canyon of the Gunnison. We have had excellent weather and it was a beautiful day. We had the park pretty much to ourselves. We entered free with our senior pass. A must see for sure. Onward to Cortez CO today for more exploring. IMG_9898.mov

Same here Steve especially after TST tech support also highly recommend installing the booster that comes with the it. The Tech support guy was really cool and said you could have interference if the booster or repeater is not installed. One has to ask? What could go wrong?🙄 😄

It’s a must see for sure! 👍🏻 A few more photos taken today while touring the Million Dollar Highway…amazing. My Bride, Navigator and Copilot shot a few beauties! Sept and October is the only time we will visit Colorado for many reasons. We had the road to ourselves in the Beast. Tomorrow we will tour Black Canyon of the Gunnison. Then Friday morning we take off and move our base camp to Cortez, CO. ⭐️ A link worth a read if you decide to drive the million dollar highway aka Highway 550. https://www.durangoherald.com/articles/million-dollar-highway-named-to-list-of-most-dangerous-roads-in-the-u-s/ Onward!🇺🇸🇺🇸

Thanks Bill, The cooler temps, and a lot less people in CG’s make travel and camping much more enjoyable after right after Labor Day into Oct. We are just not into the summer heat or crowds at all. Glad you are enjoying the vids. We’ll visit and tour the Black Canyon of Gunnison today. It’s close to us here in Montrose. Onward! 😊 Patriot🇺🇸

John, I will weigh in here - Per the TST tech I spoke with you will require the booster for TST to honor your warranty and for the TPMS to operate at its maximum potential. It takes a few min to connect the repeater. The TST tech also told me that using the system without the repeater you could easily have RF interference and you can easily loose your signal. My TST monitor is always on while plugged in and charging. When I unplug it from charging, it will shut off via the switch. I highly recommend you consider installing the booster/repeater for a proper install. 3 years in and my TST TPMS is working great. I do monitor my tires when traveling for heat and tire pressure. The monitor is so easy to read right there on my dash eye level. Cheers & Safe Travels from SW Colorado! Patriot🇺🇸

Our Pro Breeze works fine as long as our interior temp is an above 45 degrees. As for battery draw down, I can’t answer that question as we have never run ours all night on 12v.

@Jav8or Welcome to the forum and thanks for your first post. Maybe introduce your self and let us know what tow vehicle, year Oliver and Hull# you own so we can help you better. I have the 3200i and installed it in the our Oliver cargo basket in a custom lock down security basket crafted specific to the 3200i. Between the the gen security mount and the cargo basket I custom cut and installed 3/4” rubber horse stall mat from Tractor Supply. It really helps isolate the engine vibration from the gen when running on high. You did not say where you place the gen while you are running it? Is it in the cargo basket? If so you will need the rubber isolator that I mentioned at a minimum. The rubber feet on the gen are not substantial enough to isolate the vibs when running the gen in normal mode. We don’t experience excessive vibration that you mention when running the gen on high with the rubber mat installed. We really like our 3200i and how it is custom installed, we don’t leave home without it. We have already used it when we experienced a power outage at a CG last summer. It’s a game changer. See link below. Patriot🇺🇸

@Sak I had a cover on our former “Demonic Penguin” AC and it never blew off in high wind. It can be cinched down pretty tight. We never had issues with birds or bugs at all. Patriot🇺🇸

@jd1923 with that Cummins diesel engine brake, your truck and new trailer brakes should last a long time👍🏻. I rarely use my truck or trailer brakes on long mountain passes with the engine brake. We are really appreciating the diesel engine brake right now out here in the Colorado Rockies. In my experience, Ford absolutely nailed it on the diesel engine brake in our TV. It works excellent. Nice job on the rebuild! 👍🏻 Patriot🇺🇸

Congrats on your new Oliver. Wishing you all the best and miles of smiles! We look forward to photos and travel stories! Welcome back! Patriot 🇺🇸

Chris, If you want to save your self future rear view cam headaches consider ordering the Furion cam that Oliver now installs. I had the Voyager and it had water intrusion. The gal at Voyager sent me the replacement admitted that they have had many of these rear cams returned due to leaks/fog up. The seals in the Voyager just are not that good and over time leak. Personally I would not reinstall another Voyager based on a google search of owner user reviews and what their customer service rep told me. On one of my Oliver service visits I had the new Furion cam installed and it’s serving me well. If you’re going to all the trouble of a replacing your cam, maybe consider a clean and neat install/upgrade to a Furion. Happy Trails, Patriot🇺🇸
