  1. Signed up for a May delivery slot today for LE1. Looking forward to the design and build process. I appreciate all the feedback on my prior thread! Oliver needs to hire the YouTubers who put out the 90 minute factory tour. What a great video. I don’t even own one yet and I’ve been through all the how to videos on Oliver YouTube channel! I live north of Dallas in the suburbs and will be mainly traveling with my 35lbs english cocker spaniel. The post COVID world has created a much more virtual work environment for me so planning to get out a few weeks at a time and then much more once retirement rolls around!

  3. I’m with you guy, we will be picking up an LE1 March 25. Did the factory tour about 2weeks ago with Anita and camped at Fall Creek Falls, TN in our Tab 320. About a 3 hour drive to Hoenwald but worth it.

  4. I was told about a couple changes, like the addition of a smart TV in this coming year’s model, that I was not aware of. So I’m sure there is a lot if that going on. Susan, don’t you know that you’re supposed to forget all those stressful things from your former job when you retire/leave it?😀 I did.

  5. Considering they’ve switched from Italian awnings to American to Swedish then back to American, I’m doubting it’s an ideology based decision. Maybe it’s just a world tour. Or, they could just be better awnings.

  6. If I were alone, I'd still go for the LE2 because: I like my truck Dual Axle gives an added margin of safety - but the LE(1) still seems stable with a blowout More Solar Inside height (6'1" vs 6'6") (remember there is other stuff hanging down) Extra sleeping length Love the pantry - I like to eat. I do wish the LE2 came with bigger tanks than the LE(1)

  7. I just stumbled across these and think they would be quite useful for securing stuff temporarily, for example where a small ball-type bungee might normally be used. At $0.50 each they are far too pricy for regular permanent jobs IMHO, unless you just have money to waste, or need it to look especially pretty... in the engine bay of a really nice car for example. https://www.amazon.com/GRIPLOCKTIES-Releasable-Re-Usable-Industrial-Durable/dp/B07CZLX3MR?th=1 Has anyone used these, and can you comment? Recommended? What do you use them for? Thanks. John Davies Spokane WA

  11. I think this is part of the cause of being "really busy". More people are purchasing RVs for travel, in lieu of cruises, flying, etc. because of the pandemic uncertainties. With more mass produced RVs being sold, more people will realize the quality of such units and will be looking for something better. I only hope Oliver does not allow increased production to undermine their reason for building Oliver trailers - quality and service.

  12. Susan, a 25 ft cord will normally be able to reach the side 30A receptacle, but it might be tight if the truck is parked on the entry side, you have the approximately 10 feet of distance across under the frame, and that only leaves 15 ft extra. A second cable is useful. I normally keep the heavy factory supplied (high quality, high theft risk) cable stored away and use this extra heavy gauge 15A cord with a Marinco adapter, and it has been working perfectly for four summers. You have to watch the load, but with the AC going and normal 12 volt loads it has never shown any sign of overheating. I would not suggest running the AC and the microwave simultaneously, but that would likely overload your generator and trip the breaker anyway. I have used this as an extension cord for the big 25 foot cable, for a total of 50 feet, no worries, just don’t try to run the AC this way.... 10 AWG extension cord 25 feet Be extremely wary of Chinese “No name” cords and adapters, they are often very substandard and will break or overheat. Constant high current loads need high quality components John Davies Spokane WA

  13. I was told, but I forget, the exact increase in number of units they’re building this year compared to last. That does raise another significant question in my mind: namely quality control. Increased production implies a number of additional, newly hired workers, and perhaps an increase in employee turnover. I’m somewhat leary about having something (anything) built by a factory of new hires.

  14. I would certainly want to know where the transfer switch is located and that it is functioning properly. I have a cap on the back of my truck so I wouldn’t intend to run it in there, but I do like the idea of having it on the ground in the front of the trailer so it is away from the bedroom area in the event I wanted to run it at night. I would probably get a waterproof doggy sized tent and put it on the ground for the generator. The propane tanks being up front is probably another reason not to run the generator in that front tray.

  15. Maybe the real question is???.. Did they find the answer? Or, if not, did they get back to you? I can see where someone in the "front" office might not know the answer to that question, but I can't believe they wouldn't follow through for you.

  16. Definitely there is. The sales department should know that if they don’t . You don’t need the extra port to use a generator. You can use the standard port on the side of the trailer just the same. The extra port on the front just allows for an easier connection if you have your generator in the front basket or in your truck bed.

  17. Normal dry air is 78.09% nitrogen, so as long as you keep it under 10,000 feet, you should be ok?

  18. Dometic off shored the La Grange Indiana factory. Maybe Oliver just decided to support the US RV industry.

  19. The idea of the shorter Elite is intriguing . . . . . My thoughts: For two people, foul weather camping would be crowded. For solo use, can you manage with the smaller galley (no counter between the sink and stove) and without the large pantry between the dinette and the bed?". Those would be huge trade-offs for me. However, as has been said before, it all depends on your style. If you haven't yet, my best advice is to see each in person. Oliver helped us arrange a visit with a locally owned Elite II Twin, which is the model we are considering. We had some idea of the interior space, since it is similar in size to the cabin of our small motor home. We mainly wanted to "try on" the twin beds, since they are 4" narrower than ours, check the bathroom size, and evaluate interior storage. Our reaction: The interior is more open than our MH which has the bathroom situated in the middle. The narrower beds are still roomy enough to be comfortable; I like that you can sleep with your head at either end (can't in our MH with wardrobes at the foot of each bed with a TV attached to one. The bathroom is larger than the MH's split configuration (toilet and sink in one small space and stand-alone shower across the center aisle), discounted for the separate shower that we don't use much as a shower, but as a storage area, especially for wet items. I was amazed at the interior storage. The upper cabinets are much larger than I envisioned; the large galley drawers are easier to access than the under sink storage in our MH which has very small drawers; the pantry is much larger than our pull-out; and the hanging closet larger than our two small wardrobes situated at the foot of each bed. Our MH has 10x the exterior storage, but the tow vehicle will replace that. Since you are considering another make of trailer, it is imperative that you see both, in person. If you can't manage a tour of the Oliver plant, watch the video. Look at an Escape before you see an Oliver. The differences are amazing.

  20. What I've found over the last two years is our EII lives much larger than it would appear given its sqft. The EI would most likely feel similar with 1 person or 2 folks that don't need lots of space for comfort. For my money, about the only advantage of the smaller O - other than price, is the ability to tow with a smaller vehicle. Both are very nimble in smaller spots. Ditto on the fan - works fine as a vent hood.

  21. Ditto on the hood/fan comments. We do cook inside when the weather doesn’t cooperate and the fan does a fine job. we also drove over to the Casita factory before we ordered our Oliver. It was interesting but we found that Oliver’s have a more open and larger feel than the Casita.

  22. The older Elites, like ours, have a Fantastic fan, but in the same spot. It works well to draw out cooking odors and moisture. We also prefer to cook outside. But,, sometimes, it's unavoidable. I much prefer turning the fan to high, than having a hood restricting my space. Sherry

  23. The vent hood was a small concern for us as well but in practice it hasn’t been an issue since most things get grilled outside. The max fan does do a great job of keeping moisture out of the trailer when cooking.

  24. JRLE546. You must have picked up your Ollie shortly after we picked up ours #537 in October. We would not be able to add to what Mainiac (Bob) provided. Banana Banners made our vinyl graphics from Nancy's photos. Banana Banners was very good to work with. Mainiac referred them to us.

  25. You have already made into a decal? If not I am sure Bannana Banners (her name is Robin) could put it on a quality piece of vinyl. Is the Robin's Nest home based in Maine? What type of help might you need?
