  1. We west Tennesseans are pretty chill. We’re not panicking about gas and we’ll get to the bridge maintenance next week. Maybe the week after.

  2. I bought Timken wheel bearings quite a while ago and finally got started on replacing the old ones. I always hand-packed bearings, what a mess that makes. I finally decide to treat myself to a Lisle Handy Packer. No more messes. Well, at least they are not as big. This is Redline CV-2 grease, the good stuff. Isn’t this a cool pic? 3. Huh. I'd never heard of Grit TV before. Wikipedia says that it's targeted to men between the ages of 25 and 54, which is oddly specific and makes me wonder what changes I can look forward to at 55. But I saw no Maverick reruns on their schedule so despite age compatibility it's no network for me.

  6. I just returned home from a 20 mile drive (one way) up to the Asheville airport which is just off Interstate 26 south of Asheville. On the way up ALL gas stations were out of gas but most had diesel. On the way back home (after dinner) there was one large grocery store that had obviously received a shipment of gas. There were approximately 20 vehicles in line at each of the 20 pumps waiting for gas. An Oliver owner who is currently in LGSP advises me that at least one of the gas stations in Gunthersville has gas with no lines, Bill

  7. On our way out of Tennessee this morning (Fall Creek Falls State Park) the majority of small town gas stations had pump handles covered with bags. Once we got on the interstate, we stopped at a Love’s and everything appeared normal. We were able to get diesel in Tennessee and Arkansas with no problem. It seems the only issue was off of the freeway. Mike

  8. The dinette is okay for short periods. For reading the bed becomes a recliner by positioning pillows. We’ve been stuck inside for 2-3 days at a time and we do start to get cabin fever. We bought a Clam and a propane fire pit that allows us more outside time in damp or cold weather. Our camp chairs are more comfortable than the dinette seats and we can stretch out a bit more. Mike

  9. This is a LOCKED thread. I wanted to put all my links in one spot so that they are easy for folks to find. Search remains a real problem with this forum! This thread does not allow comments. If you have questions, find a dead link or just want to talk, you can comment on the appropriate thread, or start a new thread or just Message me. I will add to this page as I start new threads, so hopefully it will continue to be a good up-to-date reference. NEWEST POSTS ARE AT THE TOP. I am not going to bother to alphabetize them, LOL. I put a link to this page in my signature, so you can get here directly from any of my comments. 11. I only saw two tankers from Columbia to Spartanburg, esstbound. Might be because the Colonial storage terminal is somewhere near Greenville. Columbia lines for gas (out onto the shoulder of the interstate) made me grateful we had stopped in Kingsland, Georgia, and again in a more rural area near Orangeburg SC. Both good stops. No need to join the lines in Columbia. We carried 20 gallons on Jerry cans. Just to be sure.

  12. Most if not all of the fuel stations in our area are completely out including diesel. Bags are on pumps everywhere. We saw one tanker this morning as we had a few errands to run. Topgun2, I agree it may take a few weeks before we see fuel in our area with all these stations out. An upside world we live in.🙃

  14. Costco in Spartanburg SC, early this morning. Plenty of gas, no lines. Delightful, after 150 miles of mostly bagged pumps. It will get better. Diesel seemed available most places. This is one of the times it was really helpful to have a 35 gallon fuel tank. While Paul slept, I found a semi to follow. Got 15.5 mpg in its draft. The semi drove like dad taught me... slower up the hills, carry the momentum down. Probably aggravated a few behind us, but, hey, we may not have a lot if gas in WNC til later in the week... I was in total conservation mode. (Except that I can't drive 55 or 60 unless mandated by law. Lol.

  16. Pure guess, judging from the position and the bike rack, it is an anchor point for a handlebar. I haven’t ever carried a bike there but always wondered about that issue…. OTH I have considered putting a tall cell antenna mast there with a stainless ratchet mount, maybe that is the purpose and it isn’t quite finished yet…. But a flagpole support certainly sounds valid. 22. The question is, What "GOOD QUALITY" chairs to buy? Let me appeal to logic! Everyone probably bought their Oliver because of the quality of workmanship/design/materials, all of which translates into durability. IMHO, these all these attributes, along with comfort, should also be present in your Camp Chairs, you know style! We've had our two ZeeDee Chairs (used) for almost 20 years now and they were probably 10 years old when we acquired them. We recently change the Sunbrella fabric on them not because they were worn, but because we wanted a different color to match our Oliver's. There no question they are more expensive, around $180.00 each, but when you do the math, ($180.00/30 years = $6 year) they are actually cheap. BTW they are extremely comfortable. Stop by our Site E10 at the Rally for a Road Test and a cold one.

  23. As I made my way about this morning - about 3 in 4 stations were empty - diesel was available. I believe - we will be fine in a few days- as most have a full tank.......

  25. Yes it is the shorty, the placement of the rear view mirror in the picture messes up that “instant recognition” the tandem axles give you for the LE2. The bigger trailer has that window sized area of gelcoat between the left two EQUAL SIZED main windows. It is so weird that we are even discussing this…. Phone pictures can fool you. I think we get used to the perspective distortion you get from the typical phone fisheye lens. It can be really hard to judge sizes. John Davies Spokane WA

  27. We have had ours outside 24/7/365 for 13+ years, no cover. Make sure you have bug screens. Make sure you keep good wax coats up. Yours is new, but I'd do at least two coats of wax before storage. You have solar, do your batteries will be charged. Turn off all the main switches. Ventilate a bit. ( I crack the bath fan, and the central fan.) We are in a humid climate, so I tip up cushions, and leave a container of dry Z aire in each sink. I put ant gel on aluminum foil bits in the bath, kitchen, and by the door. I put some pink stuff in the drain traps, and the toilet, even in the sunmer. It evaporates more slowly than water, and keeps the seals moist in the toilet. Others will have other ideas. Depends on climate.
