  3. Good call, @jd1923 ! Here's some random OTT Rally snaps from my iPhone: Little white eggs - everywhere! Entrance/exit sign for the LGSP... Welcome to our world, these are two really tired rally go-ers! So "tough" being in the pack... Site A-06, Casablanca LGSP Lodge swimming pool - very convenient We kept Steve Morris' roster (as seen on the folding table) close-hauled to keep up with the face/name recognition drill - it was an awesome tool for us... Typical chow being prepped for an early morning meal... Getting ready to pack up for the run down to Laurel, Miss. on Sunday... What a great rally it was - especially meeting all the cool Oliver owners from places way far away! We look forward to seeing others' photos of the rally, too! Cheers!

  4. I have successfully fished wires under the toilet; once through an existing gland for a an AC outlet at the front of the propane housing, and again when installing a double gland for the two cables leading to my DC-DC charger mounted within the aft dinette seat hatch. Using a light and mirror while leaning into the forward seat hatch, enabled viewing of the outer hull wall beneath the toilet platform to pinpoint where a hole needed to be drilled to avoid plumbing. View of AC outlet from inside housing. Exterior view. Double gland for DC-DC cable entry.

  5. We’re overnighting at Lake Catherine State Park near Hot Springs, Arkansas. Like most Arkansas state parks this one is nice. There are wooded camp sites and sites right on the lake. It’s 12 miles off of I-30, we’ve stopped here several times when we’re headed east or on our way home.

  8. @rideadeuce here’s how the wires looked after installation: The dc/dc charger output wire is the one with the red heat shrink on the end. The trick was to use the right size lug on the end to match buss bar bolts. The run was very short , < 2ft so a 6 x1/4” lug was used.

  10. OK, the first mention was OK @MAX Burner, but you guys are turning my AGM in the TV thread into a dumb coffee thread!

  12. Those of us in the West are surrounded by exactly the right type of rock to use in propane fire pits. Fresh from the volcano lava rocks are there for the picking. Alongside a central Oregon road I picked up a fire pit full of 2 - 2-1/2" lava rocks chosen for high density and low water content. Lava rock varies from extremely light to very dense ... some lava rocks float in water - you don't want that as the heavier rocks absorb and give off far more heat than the fluffy stuff. Avoid the immitation stuff that comes in some fire pits. Make sure your rock is from a genuine, certified volcano that has not been soaking in water recently. Porous rock filled with water can blow up in a surprising manner when put in a fire ... best to avoid that.

  15. @Steve Morris - Good morning, Steve. Hope you and Deb are enjoying your return leg! Quick Request: Todd and Laurie, from Maryland, were next to us in A-08 and inadvertently left their Anderson wheel chocks behind. We've got the chocks but don't have their Forum call-sign to coordinate an equipment return via PM. If you know their email or Forum name, please forward so we can reach out and get them shipped out... Many thanks! Best regards, A & D

  17. You got me on this one. I did not fully consider this line, "I turned it to fan mode and the growl goes away." So yes, in this case I agree with @CRM that it must be compressor related. If this exclusive product, just one year old can "jump up off the mounts" Truma as a product line has way too many issues. Truma Water Heat Fire in the Hole - Mechanical & Technical Tips - Oliver Owner Forums (olivertraveltrailers.com) and there are more complaints. So never mind what I wrote about changing fan speeds, turning off-n-on, etc. That will not work. Perhaps you need to get that compressor back on its mounts, whatever that entails. Very sorry this is happening to you when you have immediate travel plans.

  18. Like @jd1923 said, the truck model does not matter, and if you have a F150 it probably has a 2" hitch receiver. ***Important, do you know what size the bulldog coupler is on the EII that you're purchasing, probably 2", but it's also available with a 2 5/16" bulldog coupler (we have it)? You want to know that spec because the AWDH is also available with a 2" or 2 5/16" ball. BTW, we got our 2023 LEII with the 2 5/16 bulldog coupler and 2 5/16" AWDH with 2" receiver. We recently upgraded to a Chevvy 2500 with 2.5" receiver so I prchased a 2.5" stinger/shaft from Anderson for the AWDH. Yes, I know I don't need a WDH with the 2500 but I'm thinking I have it so why not use it!

  19. @MAX Burner I just noticed that you installed a non-isolated DC/DC charger. The newly released Orion XS 12/12 50amp charger is only available in non-isolated version and one of the requirements is that the starter battery and house battery share a common earth ground. Did you just run your black negative from the TV battery to the negative bus bar => charger negative to negative bus bar => then from bus bar to ground. I wasn't sure about the wiring. I have the new version that is non-isolated on order and was trying to figure how to wire. https://www.victronenergy.com/dc-dc-converters/orion-xs-12-12-50a-dc-dc-battery-charger Oh, and do you think it is possible to snake the 4 awg cables from the cable gland opening under the toilet to the aft dinette area without removing the bathroom shelf. Is it worth attempting? Or just remove it and proceed.

  21. I have no idea of how the Truma is constructed, but I've seen the same happen on other brands when the rubber isolation mounts between the compressor and the base of the unit go bad or are missing. When that happens all the compressor vibration travels straight through to the camper. Edit: Also, I've seen where the compressor jumps up off the mounts after hitting a large pothole or rough stretch of road. Definitely not the blower motor if the sound only comes and goes with the compressor engaging.

  22. The Andersen model is made to fit the Oliver frame, truck model does not matter. The truck matters re whether you need a WDH or not, but they all have 2" hitch receivers. My suggestion is to ask members here if they want to sell theirs. I've noted some 10+ forum members that say they do not use theirs with their F-250 or other 2500 series trucks. Used and pulled from another Oliver, IMHO would be the best way to go! If you truly want to buy new, ask OTT for the part number or buy from them.

  27. We made two more stops getting us back home. After the 24 hours of 50 MPH winds it was nice to get to a relaxing place. BTW, there is a large boondocking location just north of Lake Meade NRA and Valley of Fire SP on Northshore Rd SH-169. Would have stopped there, but it is on high ground and was still quite windy. We remembered from the way up that there was another campground at Callville Bay. Two weeks before it was in the 90s, so we stayed at the Trailer Village (ugly, but full hookups). The weather was much cooler this time and we stayed at the campground. They have about 50 nice campsites and they only had a 1-2 campers. We took site 30 with the view of Lake Meade. I covered our next stop, in an "We saw an Ollie" post. We found Grand Canyon Caverns campground on old US HWY 66 just past Peach Springs AZ and to our surprise the only other camper at the campground was an Ollie! The campground was a bit run down, way past its heyday! There was no attendant, office locked when we arrived about 5PM. WE asked in the restaurant, no answer. Left leisurely late morning and still nobody to pay for our night. All we did was park and level, spend the night without their hookups anyway. The next morning another hour down Route-66, then an hour down US-89 and we were back home. Chris and I really enjoyed our first real Oliver excursion, finding nice stops along the way!

  28. Nice! I know of that route. I was not sure if it was a road for 4x4s, or instead a road where you could tow your Oliver all the way down. I'm assuming you pulled your Oliver down to the Colorado! Please confirm quality of the road. Is it some paved, all dirt, OK for towing? Ample level boondocking sites at the river? That's a local trip for us, so we should do it soon. BTW, I can't stand I-40 from Flagstaff to Kingman, the trucks at 75 MPH, steep descents, construction always and bad pavement regardless. I found on this trip that we can get from home to Kingman, a trip I do several times a year, only traveling on I-40 for 7 miles. We take US-89 from Prescott to Ash Fork AZ (47 miles from home) and 7 miles west of Ash Fork you can exit on Hwy-66 and take that to Seligman, up to Peach Springs and down to Kingman. It's a beautiful route too and only adds a half hour to the route.

  29. I also purchased new battery terminals, crimped new lugs on all cables and new battery hold-downs, since they were all pretty crusty (see pics). The new batteries did not fit the OEM hold-downs (new Dorman hardware), so if you look closely, you'll see I had to rig some inserts to hold them tight. I went with Military style terminals. First experience with these, and I love them! I purchased this item but would make another choice next time. Great terminals, the rubber covers are decent, but the lugs and heat shrink were not of best quality. Dodge Cummins Military Dual Battery Terminals, Lugs & Boots | eBay These terminals have a 3/8" bolt end, so use 3/8" lugs on all your cables. The other side has a 5/16" bolt to tighten the terminal on the battery post. The beauty and simplicity here is that you can keep the 3/8" cable end held tight, and merely loosen the 5/16" nut to remove it from the battery. I've been fighting cables on dozens of vehicles since the70's! I purchased another couple of sets to use on our other old cars and trucks in the future, to be installed each time we need a new battery. The other thing about Group 27 vs. these H7 AGMs is the posts are in reverse orientation. In making all new connections I had the change the +/- location of all cables. The main + cable, connecting the two batteries, mounted over the radiator core had to be shifted about a foot over. I had to make a new cable from the LH battery to the power distribution box, but most other cables had room to move 10" left or right. I think it came out pretty good. The AGMs should last much longer. Every time I park the truck voltage is 13.1V or better, where LA is usually 12.6V at best. Let it park for a few days (and I have a cellular router running, rid-rat devices and more) and it's still at 12.9V. Love the AGMs! What do you think?

  30. All or part of the issue I experienced may have also been due to the quality, or lack thereof, of the breaker initially installed. To that point, I had another breaker tripping at the DC-DC after switching from a 20A to 40A charger. Upon research, I learned that this was a common occurrence with use of ‘cheap Chinese’ breakers and the remedy was installation of a ‘quality Blue Sea’ breaker, which resolved that problem. I should mention that with the 20A charger install, I took cable size into account to adequately accommodate any future upgrade in house battery amp hours and thus, a step-up in charger output.
