After almost a year on this forum, reading all the wonderful information, getting used to the you get what you pay for price of an Oliver, and finding the wonderful owners of Hull 292, Duke and Chris Chadwell, on Dec 16th we took the plunge. Duke and Chris loved their Oliver and bought so many toys to go with it. We were so happy to get them included. We head out on our first adventure Dec 26th to St. Augustine with our Standard Poodle, Ranger. Anita, my Wife, came up with the perfect name for our Ollie, “The Range Rover.” We’ve already booked site F27 at the April Ollie Rally. Hope to see you there. Gary, Anita, and Ranger6 points

Our EII Hull 505- 2019 had been having some weird intermittent USB action on the street side of the trailer. When I checked for continuity across the 20A 12V Fuse (Street Side) in the rear attic it showed all OK. I removed the 4 screws that hold in the radio, pulled it out and checked the voltage on the connectors for the USB plug leads and read 2V. I went back, pulled the fuse and measured a resistance that was pretty high and noticed discoloration in the fuse body... It turns out that fuse has partially blown. I replaced the fuse and measured voltage at 13.4V and when the power and ground reinstalled the USB ports came alive. Upon re-installation of the radio I noticed the bottom right of 4 screws was not actually going into any fiberglass. The hole cutout for the radio wasn't a clean rectangle and that bottom right screw is floating in air. I'll be trying to find some c-clips to use as a backer for that screw. For the last two nights, while streaming Peacock thru my Apple TV, an Oliver Travel Trailer has played. It is a short, maybe 15 seconds and very well done. It was very fun to see, I was wondering if anyone else has seen the ad. Maybe my APPLE TV is targeting me based on my browsing history, especially my time on Oliver Owners Forum. I also wonder if the APPLE TV is targeting me because half of the ads on peacock are in Spanish and I have been using Duolingo to learn Spanish for the last year?2 points

I’ve attached photos showing how I mounted the EZ Reach table system. To do this, I used a 12" x 16" aluminum sheet and aluminum L brackets. Additionally, I attached an angled brace from the top of one of the L brackets to the aluminum frame supporting the heater. The setup is very sturdy, and we’re pleased with how it turned out. For the EZ Reach system, we selected a 16" arm and a 12" arm to achieve the level of articulation we needed. The table top was purchased from Oliver. Note: We always remove the table top from the system while traveling. Hope this information is helpful!2 points

Update: I was able to work directly with Lippert to order a "door core" which is just the door including the window. (The door frame, hinges, and threshold all stay in place, and only the door core is replaced.) The factory wanted $1600.00+ taxes for the replacement, and direct order cost is $676.21. ($1k savings) The installation is like replacing a pre-hung door so I feel confident I can do this repair at home. Hope this helps anyone else who requires a door repair. Be careful to look at how your door hinges are attached as they have changed from older models to newer models. When I do the replacement I'll repost with photos. Yep - me too. I recently had occasion to use iOverlander app in the 890 for something other than finding boondocking spots. My source of potable water near Buffalo, WY was closed and in the search for a replacement I took a look at iOverlander "services". There were several water sources listed there and that led me to taking a look at https://ioverlander.com/ . On the website they not only list locations (via icons on a map), but, if you click on an icon you will get additional information from people that have used or stayed at that very spot. Bill2 points

Finally got the Mechman 370 amp HO alternator installed. Dramatic difference @idle 35 amps showed up on display. Woohoo! Interestingly, it took a piece of 2x4 going through my radiator on I-40 East headed to Johnson City, TN to get the incentive to do the upgrade. The Mechman alternator had been sitting in my garage for 6 months. Now, I can finally replenish the 920aH battery bank while driving on long legs out West. Best, Mike BTW, used JB weld to temporarily stop the drainage of coolant... made it back home without a tow.1 point

Periodically I take a couple of hours and retorque selected components of our OE2. My list of torque values is more extensive than what I have to date found on our forum. BUT, it for sure is not complete. If you disagree with my values OR have other values, please post back. It would be helpful if you included the source of your input and it's date. I'll periodically update the attachment and repost. Down the road if you want to check the currency of one you may have in hand, just check the version dates in the upper left hand corner. With this post, it is 21 DEC 2024. GJ PS: I was surprised to note the updated NTSB web site provided info for the Dexter EZ Flex. I suspect is may have been updated in response to the "Walking EZ Bolt" problem. EZ Flex Installation (April 2021 From NTST Web Site) MC-10190118-0001.pdf GJ TORQUE VALUES FOR OE2.docx1 point

Great minds think alike John!😊, a gallon of water, dawn dish soap, a scoop of happy camper and a cup of vinegar go in the black tank after a dump before usage, then after each use a few spritzes of vinegar.1 point

Haha well not quite bored but I now have the time to do some mods! 😀1 point

Ok time to revive this thread! I know there are mixed feelings about diverting the nature's head urine tank into the Ollies unused black tank. Well, I actually went ahead and did this mod and so far FOR US we absolutely love it, more so for me not havig to dump and clean the 2.2gal urine tank every 2 to 3 days!🙂 Instead of using a ball valve to eliminate any odors from the black tank I used a 1.5" BV1B/UB HepvO Sanitary Waste Valve, and yes we still add some water and vinegar after every use, so there is no odour at all. Obviously there are other ways to do this, and maybe a better way, but here are some pics of how I did it, pretty self explanitory so I will not go into much detail explaining it. Next mod will be to reroute the sink drain to the black tank. Large hole was from factory, I drilled the 3 smaller holes.1 point

Camping in Wyoming, I met Rob & Amy, co-owners of BABCOCK METALS, of Talmage, UT. Rob is a world class welder / fabricator who does work on major industrial products and household furnishings. He also loves the challenge of creating custom designed solutions for customers' unique needs . . . such as an elegant and strong 2" receiver hitch for the back of my Ollie which allows unhindered access to the sewer hose inside the rear bumper and removal of the spare tire cover. Let me show you his creation . . . It started with two machined stainless steel brackets for the exterior of the frame, cut to permit the bumper to swing down without interference. The brackets each had three holes to accommodate a 5/8 inch hardened grade 8 bolts. Inside the frame, he added six solid blocks of aluminum which had also been drilled for the 5/8 inch grade 8 bolts. Using stainless steel curved tubing with a 2 inch ID, Rob measured the angles required to ensure clearance would permit access to the rear bumper compartment and spare tire. Finally, he made a 2" receiver, curved exactly for welding onto the stainless steel pipe. His artistry at welding is evident in the finished product. After applying a brushed finish to the exterior of the hitch, Rob installed it onto The Wonder Egg. The hitch fits the rear portion of the frame perfectly and each of the six grade 8, hardened steel bolts was snugged down with 200 ft lbs of torque. I feel very confident in the ability of this custom hitch to do the job. If you ever think that you may be traveling near eastern Utah and are in search for a hitch solution for your Ollie, contact Babcock Metals (678.480.0204) and I bet they could create just what your are looking for.1 point

I would, for sure. A slim piece of marine plywood, solid hardwood or starboard, epoxied behind the inner hull . The table will add stress, loaded Haven't done this mod, but I'm always about overkill1 point

Great info, thank you for doing the leg work for us! Just over $400 takes this effort into the affordability range for many owners. Even the shipping to Washington from Indiana was reasonable. Likely a lot more than most of us would need. Looking forward to your DIY install. GJ1 point

Love Blackwater River. I'm heading down to Mobile for the holiday and was thinking of staying a few nights there on the way home. Looks like there are some sites at Ft. Pickens between Christmas and New Year as well... 🤔 Jealous of your cruise, a warm beach would be nice right about now!1 point

I’m looking for the EZ-Reach parts list used by David & Martha Purkey. Did they have to add support behind the mounting bracket? My wife Karen and I bought a used 2022 LE1 hull #951. This 2025 summer will be our maiden trip in the Ollie. Thanks for any help you can provide.1 point

We are cruising out of Jacksonville. This past January, we made arrangements with Retro Reno there in Jacksonville to work with CGI as a spot to do our ceramic coating and they'd told us to stop in if we passed that way again. So we contacted them late this summer to see if we could rent a spot. Since we were last there, they've become Escape and Casita dealers, and built a new shop, so I was concerned that they might not have room. Daniel called me, looked at their schedule, and said they would have room for us. He also offered to have us camp there the night before departure, and he will drive us to and from the ship port to avoid parking at the dock. All at a price I was comfortable with, and only a bit more than the RV/oversized spots at the port. I was dreading leaving the trailer at the port with the e-bikes on the back and valuables inside! So this was a huge relief for us.1 point

That would be my biggest nightmare. Storage is 1 hour away. We plug in. We have an HOH and can't store at home. Our storage place is an old manufacturing facility converted to an RV and boat storage facility. Guess we will just hope this doesn't become a blanket thing across the insurance industry.1 point

Exactly, shows you how miserably uninformed some of these insurance companies are! @MobileJoy not sure it will make a difference but send this to your storage facility…… Lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) and lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries have different characteristics that make them suitable for different applications: Chemical symbol: The chemical symbol for Li-ion batteries is LiCoO2, while the chemical symbol for LiFePO4 batteries is LiFePO4 Temperature range: LiFePO4 batteries can operate in a wider temperature range than Li-ion batteries. Safety: LiFePO4 batteries are safer than Li-ion batteries because they are more thermally and chemically stable. Environmental impact: LiFePO4 batteries are more environmentally friendly than Li-ion batteries because they are more recyclable. Chemical composition: Li-ion batteries contain cobalt and other toxic chemicals, while LiFePO4 batteries only contain iron.1 point

The following video popped up on my YouTube recommendation list a couple of weeks ago, showing a new Bluetooth enabled replacement panel for the SeeLevel II tank monitors. I thought that this would be a handy upgrade, so I called to place an order, and it arrived yesterday. Installation was simple. I removed the original 907-P3 panel (Model 907, with Pump switch and 3 tanks) by taking out the four screws holding it to the wall. Then I pulled off the three connectors for the water pump, and removed the Molex connector on the circuit board. The new panel is a 907-BTP7 (Model 907 with BlueTooth, Pump switch, and up to 7 tanks) and came with a new wiring pigtail. In the video, James shows using WAGO connections. But Oliver leaves very little slack in the wiring for the tank monitor, so there's not much room to cut the existing wires and connect the new ones. And, there's no need to do so. Since we do not have an LP monitor, nor an alarm, we only need the four existing wires; just in different pin locations. The above photo shows the original Molex connector, with, starting from the right: White, Blank, Red, Black, Blue, Blank. As shown in the attached wiring diagram for the new 907-BTP7 panel, all that's needed is to move the last three to the right one pin position, as follows: White, Red, Black, Blue, Blank, Blank. Push on the Molex connector, reconnect the three water pump wires, and replace the panel on the wall. Done, in under 30 minutes! Safety protocol would of course be to switch off the solar disconnect and turn off the batteries before starting, as the Molex pins are not insulated, and bumping them together could cause a spark or blown fuse. Download the SeeLevel app for IOS or Android, and follow the instructions to get it set up. Of course, we do not have an LP monitor, nor more than three tanks, so the ALT and LP buttons will not be used. Garnet used to offer a 907-BTP3 panel, but that was several years ago, and is no longer available. Now, the obvious question, is why would someone want this panel with Bluetooth? Oliver's fresh water tank, like most, has an overflow, so observing tank level isn't really needed for filling. And there are inline flow gauges for much lower cost. But if you're in line at a low flow water fill, with impatient people behind you, it might be nice to know your progress. or maybe you're in the shade, hanging out in your hammock, and suddenly wonder if the shitter's full. Now you can check! 🤣 I'll use it to watch how full the black tank is when I'm flushing it, and monitoring the gray tank when I'm back-flushing it from the drain outlet. It'll be easier than running back and forth between the monitor in the trailer and the faucet on the side of the house. And, simply because I enjoy fiddling with tech stuff like this. I see that the price has gone up considerably since I ordered on November 7th. It was $109.99, and is now $146.37. That's a 33% increase in four days! Here's the link if anyone is interested: https://shopusa.garnetinstruments.com/solutions/holding-tanks/c-709-btp7-709-btp7-display1 point

OK, I finally completed the modification with the lagun table and we are very happy with the results. We have ordered some backrest cushions from OTT to replace the split backrest cushions. We just returned from our first camping trip with Coddiwomple and really like this setup. My wife, Martha, sleeps on the back bed (28" wide) and I sleep on the side dinette bed (24" wide). Here are some pictures of the hitch with a bike rack and loaded bike. The rack I chose was the 2" Super Duty Single, by 1UP USA. It does not require additional tie down points for the bike and the bike is held rock solid over bumps and exhibits no wiggling at all. It can be expanded to hold up to 3 bikes. I appreciate the ease of loading and unloading, no need for tie-downs, and the great clearance from the ground and trailer. Pete ps Larger pics added . . . (The 1UP-USA rank is not safety pinned into the rack, it is secured through an internal tensioning bearing which is built into the rack)1 point
