  1. I very rarely, if ever offer anyone advice about spending their money, but I will offer myself as an example. I bought my used Toyota SUV in 2016, knowing that I was going to buy an Oliver LEII, which I did in 2018. The reason for choosing a Toyota was based upon past experience and I like dependable products and it has a towing capacity of 8100 lbs and a cargo capacity of 1295 lbs. That’s not a lot of capacity in the grand scheme of travel trailer towing, but we make it work. What I didn’t know was that I would need a weight distribution hitch. But my Toyota owners manual states that it is required if it used to tow any trailer weighing more that 5000 lbs. I trust Toyota’s engineering, so a WDH is part of my towing equipment. I compare the Andersen WDH to shoes. I love wearing flip flops, but when I’m cutting the grass, I’ve got my boots on. So if my tow vehicle requires a WDH, it’s incumbent upon me to learn how to use it. So please do not let anyone scare you away from using the Andersen WDH if your tow vehicle requires it. And please verify the towing, cargo and tongue weight capacities of any vehicle you are thinking about purchasing. Do not trust someone else’s assurances that a given vehicle will be just fine towing a travel trailer. The capacity information is posted on each vehicle, usually on the drivers door jamb. Happy hunting, Mossey
  2. @Mike D. thanks for the clarification. Maybe Katjo will comment on his picture and let us know if the 4/0 lug in his picture was original or part of the recent repair and what the other end is connected to. Mossey
  3. Are you referring to the yellow wire connected to the right end of the ground Buss bar? That cable does not look large enough to be a 4/0 cable which has an O.D. of 13/16". One of Katjo’s pictures showed a 4/0 x 5/16" lug connected to the frame ground, which prompted my question. Mossey
  4. Since I only have my Oliver to compare to, I have a couple of questions to ask to the forum group. The repair pictures show what has been identified as liquid tape. Does anyone else have liquid tape on their frame ground stud or connections? My second question concerns the 4/0 x 5/16” lug attached to the ground stud. Does anyone also have a 4/0 ground cable connected to the frame ground? Are these now common methods on units coming from the factory? Mossey
  5. I would also suggest a visit to Stanley Park in downtown Vancouver if possible. It is similar to Central Park, a little larger and bordered by water on three sides. But don’t take your Ollie, it’s in the city. Mossey
  6. Krunch and I stayed at Lake Powhatan for a night in April of 2021 on our way to Virginia. It is a very nice campground that we plan to revisit in the future. I picked it because it was close enough to have dinner with topgun2 and his wife, which he bought. It was a win win campground for us. If for no other reason than it’s our turn to buy, we’re going back! Mossey
  7. First off, let me say that I do not have any practical experience troubleshooting the Truma AquaGo. I do have one but I have never had any issues with. If you looked up the error code, I assume you have the manual. I wonder what item 4a does? It is located right next to the EPS, so it may be a method to test the EPS. Mossey
  8. Thank you for the very honest and descriptive review. And it takes a very big person to admit a $900 mistake, kudos to you! I have a feeling about how frugal you and Paul are from previous posts on this forum and I know y’all put a lot of thought into your decision which must make it a bitter pill to swallow. I have a feeling that you will make it work in time even if you don’t share with visitors again. I still haven’t heard anyone talk about their mobile installation disposal methods which should be a different issue from a barn installation. Mossey
  9. Thank you David! All the best to you and Susan. And I think you forgot this sunset picture from the 2018 rally. Mike and Krunch
  10. Glad it all worked out in the end. To bad you had to chase the paperwork. Are you happy with the work they did with the ceramic coating? Mossey
  11. Thank you for posting your pictures of the CGI Detailing process. It does look like it was a little warm but the effort sure makes your Ollie look nice. Mossey
  12. This Link covers my experience with a Dometic air conditioner leak. Mossey
  13. They aren’t really out there, they’re just rolling around in the belly of the beast. For example, I lost a 5’ section of PEX pipe that I had stored near the water pump for emergencies. I know it’s down there someplace and maybe it will show up in the future. Mossey
  14. Click on your name in the top right corner. Another window will open, click on Account Settings. When a new window opens, click on Signature on the left side. Edit the signature section with the information you would like to appear at the bottom of your post’s and click Save. Good luck, Mossey
  15. If you are out of warranty then maybe look at a piece of aluminum angle or tubing attached on the inside of the vent. Maybe a piece on each side or just one in the middle would suffice. You could experiment with different stiffeners and temporarily attach it with zip ties. Mossey
  16. Alberta and Randy, I would like to thank you for your excellent post. You described your issue and explained the things that you had tried while troubleshooting. You also provided information about your Oliver in your signature such as model and the year it was built. It is difficult to provide accurate answers to those requesting help with limited information. This is especially true in a non verbal conversation such as an email or a post online. You have provided an excellent example for others to follow when requesting help on this forum. Mossey
  17. https://support.olivertraveltrailers.com/portal/en/kb/articles/2021-model-water-pump-valves The link above will take you to a water pump guide for 2021 and 2022 LE2’s. The picture below is for earlier LE2’s. Mossey
  18. My 2017 LE2 water pump has a circuit breaker in the attic. I do not know if that applies to your Ollie or not. Mossey
  19. Are you using a neutral ground plug? If not, you need one. The YouTube link is to a very knowledgeable source of RV electricity. https://youtu.be/M-bTLdMjuqU Mossey
  20. @dhaig Your cargo carrier and mounting solution looks very robust, well planned and based on your 2000 mile test run, very functional. Thank you for the detailed write up which even I could follow and other OTTO’s can use to their advantage and solve their own cargo carrying limitations. Mossey
  21. My initial reaction to that sign when I saw it on the news last night was WOW! But when I saw geO’s picture this morning I thought, WOW I’m going to go fill up with premium gas. I don’t remember ever seeing premium just 4 cents higher than regular. Maybe it’s a California thing.🙁 The couple parked next to us for the first couple of days at the rally we’re in a 40’ class A diesel pusher that got 5 MPG. It had a 100 gallon tank and their fill ups were in the $400 plus range and at today’s California prices, they are looking at nearly double that. So they would spend over $100,000 following Geronimo John on his summer trip. Now that’s a WOW! Edit: I recalculated my estimate for the diesel pusher following Geronimo John on his 12,000 trip and the $100,000 estimate I made previously is inaccurate. The cost should have been $22,056. Which makes the previously stated WOW, just a wow. Please except my apologies! Mossey A wise man once said, "it’s easy to appear smart, just keep your mouth shut"
  22. Another question, so I can follow this issue to the best of my ability. You may have added a new component to the scenario, the 110 adapter that you didn’t mention in the original post and I assume it’s a 30 Amp RV to 110V 15 Amp adapter. Is this correct? Mossey
  23. So you were using 2 surge suppressor’s back to back when the problem occurred. Are you still using both surge suppressor’s while plugged in at home? Mossey
  24. This link covers a lot of storage ideas as well as Tooletries and Sudski. And I found it by searching for Tooletries. Mossey
  25. Thank you! The Platinum Package is much more descriptive and useful for troubleshooting than "battery package our $$$ could buy". I know you all are newbie’s, but when speaking about your Ollie, please remember that there is no such thing as TMI. To much information equals more accurate support from the forum members. Mossey
