Welcome back and stick with your PT. It sounds like you are well on your way to full recovery. I agree with @ScubaRx I really try to avoid ladders as much as possible. Wishing you many happy and safe travels! Patriot đșđž3 points

"Thank you for that update, I missed that one. Although I must say, I donât like it, it doesnât make clear sense. A debate for another thread. Or NOT, since we want to stay away from any sort of political discussion on the forum. Signed, Bugeydriver (who relied on NOTAMS for 34 years when I was a working stiff)3 points

Another Oliver improvement. The original poster on this thread, Imelda, has this connection for the pull-down faucet in her 2020: Our Hull #1291 has a more robust connection, which should be much less likely to pull apart. See photo below. Note: If you happen to notice the drip on the side of the ABS p-trap in the photo (like I did, to my alarm), it is not a water leak. I put my finger on it. It is just excess ABS glue from when the fitting was glued together. In sum, I am pleased to find that Oliver continues to tweak, and improve, a number of things that have come to their attention through service tickets.3 points

Oliver has improved its design to place the receptacle for the refrigerator in a dry location. In our Hull #1291, that receptacle is under the "floor" of the cabinet under the sink. See attached photos. The first photo shows the bottom of the cabinet under the sink with the plywood cover plate in place. The second photo shows the receptacle underneath that floor, with the cover plate removed. Note that in Hull #1292, there are two such cover plates: one on the floor and a second on the vertical back wall. The one on the floor allows access to the fridge receptacle. The one on the back wall allows access to the sink plumbing. These are significant design improvements, in my judgment. I applaud Oliver for theses simple, but important, changes in their manufacturing process.3 points

I feel like I have been hiding out from the forums for the last several months. Almost put this post in âintroduce yourselfâ but that did not seem right, I already introduced Rebecca and myself when we picked up #1030 almost a year ago. Getting the Truma water heater replaced tied us up for the late spring, then work blotted out the summer, and shortly after putting the cover on Reset in September I fell off a ladder and broke my collarbone requiring surgery. (Ladder ,tree limb, chainsaw, stupidity ⊠when we share a campfire I will go through the details but only if alcohol is available đ ). We had to cancel four trips because of the simple fact that I could not get the cover off Reset. Fast forward to this weekend - Iâm completing a month of Physical Therapy and with my sonâs help was able to get the cover off yesterday. (Successfully not falling off a ladder - takes bow đ€Ł.) Rebecca and I are finally getting back on the road for a short shakedown trip this weekend, then out to Howenwald mid-February for an annual service visit / warranty punch list. So we are back - looking forward to sharing roads and campgrounds with all of you!2 points

Ouch. I also broke my collar bone in early September, though a full break, not displaced, so no surgery required. It was certainly painful . Please do follow the doc and pt advice. I'm fully recovered. And, released from care, months ago. I don't recommend ladders. đ€š2 points

Below is a photo of a Zircon battery-operated water leak alarm under the kitchen sink in Hull # 1291. The second photo shows the drawer closed, with the water leak alarm still in place. So, the Zircon water leak alarm fits behind that bottom drawer. It will provide peace of mind when using the kitchen sink.2 points

I stand corrected. Only the yellow bulb (turn signal?) is easily replaceable by reaching under the hood on my 2019 Tundra. Replacing a headlight seems almost as involved as on the Ford F250. Ouch.2 points
-
My 1991 Toyota pickup requires removal of 4 screws for the parking lamps, 12 clips to remove the grill, and then 4 screws each to remove the headlight bulbs. The newer F250 may use a few more modern fasteners but the degree of difficulty doesn't look to be any worse. At least the job can be accomplished while standing up.2 points

It has had several recalls but that wasnât one of them. I have found it is less of an issue since I installed the Firestone airbags. I have a camper shell on the back and a Bedslide. Those two alone were enough to change the geometry on my truck and raise the front end slightly. It got worse when I loaded down for travel and then hitched up. I now inflate my airbags to give me the âStock Heightâ from my tailgate to the ground. That seems to do the trick. Another thing Ford owners do is change settings using a program called FORSCAN and invoke what is called âBambi Modeâ. On a stock Ford truck the fog lights will switch OFF when you turn on the high beams. Bambi mode allows the fog lights to stay on with high beams. They are called fog lights even though they are white and LED so they are still quite bright but they have a dispersed pattern. Brian1 point

I agree - highly recommendâŠI will have to send you a picture of recent front end work on my F-250. Have you heard about the collaboration between Warn and Ford to create the âkitâ to install the 12k pound winch? It looks incredible! @PatriotAdding Link: https://www.levittownfordparts.com/sku/m-1821-sd.html BL1 point

After changing bulbs in Chevyâs, Toyota, Lexus I made it a point to order ALL LED bulbs on my 2020 Ford - have not been disappointed but no matter what I do in terms of keeping the truck level (Air Bags in back, etc) my low beams seem to be too bright for many oncoming cars. It is mainly the cars that are low to the ground, trucks donât seem to mind. I have to say they are the clearest, brightest lights I have ever had - including some off road lights. Good luck to all the bulb-changers out there. It is not a fun, or easy task. Cheers, BL1 point

As I've said many times before - There isn't a "bad" 1/2 ton truck on the market these days. Bill1 point

One of our neighbors near our property in nc talked about those horse/living quarters trailers. I've seen them on the highway. Practical for a certain group. Actually. Perfect for them.1 point

Ours is the same. Significantly better. I see they didn't attach the zip tie on yours either. Leaving ours off unless the plug works loose.1 point

I found three areas under the sink of our Legacy 2 (hull 770) which were badly leaking, causing a mess and delaminated drawer cabinet plywood. Two were located at both ends of the sink drain pipe trap/elbow. The collar which tightens the compression seal on one end was not tightened during manufacture and was literally pouring water. At the other end of the elbow the joint is a slip fit which normally would be glued together. In this case it was not and the leakage, although more limited, was still significant. At the compression fitting the collar was tightened, as it should have been at the factory, and the leak stopped. At the other end of the trap I obtained a silicone reducer sleeve, available at Amazon among other places, and used it to enclose the slip joint (hose clamp at each end). This allows the elbow to be removed or replaced if necessary). The other major leak under the sink was due to a split in the 1-1/4" overfill hose on the top of the fresh water tank. This split was due to the installation of a hose which was far too short to make a gentle curve from tank fitting to the hull drain. Instead of getting a hose of the right length, the installation crew bent the hose over nearly 70 degrees at the tank fitting, causing a split which poured water into the space between the hulls as the tank was filled. In order to access and fix the split hose, it was necessary for me to cut an access hole in the bottom of the drawer cabinet which enabled me to get at the hose/barb. I spliced in a section of hose long enough to allow a gentle curve in the overflow hose. In general the manufacturing of these trailers is far superior to be vast majority of RV's on the market but, speaking as someone who spent his working life in manufacturing, you cannot at any point drop your guard and slack off on your QC measures. In my case, the most superficial of QC inspections of these three potential failure points would have revealed their obvious leak potential. As it is, my grading of Olivers QC has gone from a B+ to a C.1 point

OK, Kevin. Apparently you were not aware of Texas Law BR-0459. No one over the age of 55 is allowed to use a ladder without two adults supervising. Further, nobody is allowed to say, "Hey Buddy, hold my beer." I fell about 16 months ago and had massive subdural hematoma. It required an emergency craniotomy. We'uns need to learn to be more careful.1 point

For those who have no idea of what I'm talking about... This one is only $114K Charlie.1 point

We live in the land of "Team Ropers" with a dozen roping arenas nearby. Many of these cowboys have expensive horse trailers with living quarters. Our local TS had a small area dedicated to RVs - now they have expanded to meet the needs of those customers who need more than just horse supplies. Charlie.1 point

How many clips and bolts must be removed to change a light bulb on a newer Ford F250? More than 25! How many Ford engineers does it take to make a simple light bulb change that difficult? Only one. Why am I Toyota guy: let me count the ways....1 point

I know I've posted this before but .... The last time we were at Valley of Fire we were temporarily delayed at the entrance to the park because they were shooting a film involving a high speed car chases with three super powerful sports cars. The sound, the helicopter, the speed all combined for a great show. I think that the movie was called - Redline. Don't bother looking it up in that the movie is not worth your time.đ Bill p.s. not the animated version from 2009 or so but the real life version from around 2007 https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0780595/mediaviewer/rm2211511297?ref_=ttmi_mi_all_sf_411 point

How are the lenses? Buffing out any haze or yellowing is the first step. Next comes bulbs like Silver Star, next comes aftermarket HID bulbs, after that, entirely new housings. How far do you want to go? Adding extra low beams might work but you run into legal issues and might get ticketed. I donât know if this is the correct bulb for your truck. Be aware these have very short life spans and must be replaced in pairs. https://www.amazon.com/SYLVANIA-SilverStar-Performance-Replacement-Technology/dp/B008BE04C6 https://www.xenonhids.com/ford/2019/f-250-super-duty.html John Davies Spokane WA1 point

Our three kids always enjoyed camping when they were growing up. We tented initially then moved up to first a used pop up trailer, then a new pop up. I am looking forward to taking our grandson camping with our LE2. He just turned one so it won't be immediately. John1 point

My condolences on the passing of your old phones đ. Certainly for the two "free" years this feature could really help in those situations where you might be without any cell service. It would be interesting to see how strong the connection is to their satellites over time - if it is presently "slow" then what might it be like when more users start taking advantage of the feature? Satellite locators such as the Garmin InReach are obviously better but they come at a cost and you have to carry another device. Hopefully you never have to use this, but, it brings at least a bit of ease to the mind knowing the feature is there just in case. Bill1 point

One is silver, and the others gold... We sang it by the campfire, as kids, and it's just as true today. I spoke today with a camping friend that I taught with many, many years ago. (Not telling.,) She's at a rally that she's been attending for probably a decade. Fun with old friends and new. Past summer, she created an informal "camping experience " with her senior band friends. We've made cherished friends within the Ollie circle, and other friends around the world, camping, in our Ollie, and rentals/ deliveries. Tonight, in my conversation with my friend, I was struck by how much our life has been enriched by our camping (and sailing/cruising) experiences. That song I learned in Brownie camp is just so true. Some people I cherish today, though I've never met them in person. Others, that I've camped with are cherished in another special way. Life can be so good, when we get out there, and open our hearts to adventure, and new friends. I do so love the woods, thevbeauty of nature, the adventure, and all the opportunities. Camping season, for us, this year, is drawing to a close. Maybe a few short trips, but other adventures await.1 point

Weâve made some great Oliver friends over the years. Real friends. Itâs fun to see them at various places across the country and renew connections. We like to camp year round. We were in Colorado in June and July. Weâll be out the month of October and then the month of January. Itâs a good pace, home a couple of months, out a month or two, repeat. Mike1 point

Those are terrific (and high quality) fans but they most likely won't last very long, they were never intended for a wet environment. I used one in the bottom of my battery box for cross ventilation, I added drain holes to the hub, so water wonât pool inside and screw up the bearings or freeze, and sealed the wires. The Fridge Defend fans are moisture resistant and have proven to hold up well in this exposed location. https://olivertraveltrailers.com/forums/topic/5301-how-to-lithium-battery-powered-vent-system/ John Davies Spokane WA1 point

Speaking of refrigerator plug, since your plumbing has been leaking a lot, unplug shore power so that the outlet, which may be full of water, wonât zap you. I doubt if that location meets code, I was pretty amazed when I discovered this setup years ago. Normally you donât put 120 volt AC electricity directly below plumbing connections. If it canât go in a dry spot, it needs to be installed in a waterproof enclosure. Bill, I borrowed your picâŠ.. John Davies Spokane WA1 point
