  1. Because they made the NS drawer taller and it will no longer fit. BL

  2. That company got off to a rough start. Apparently, the CEO was indicted for fraud a few years ago. Here's a link: https://casetext.com/case/united-states-v-spivak Their initial website was pretty sketchy looking. Today, their 27 footer is just a CAD drawing with no wheels. Be interesting to see if they can hang in for the long run.

  3. From my understanding of Ollie winter camping it is not a problem with freezing the tank water, its all the water lines that are at risk first. GJ

  5. I like the heated tank concept. I *assume* this is electric, but have the same questions as Rivernerd above. Interesting thought - for trailers with propane heat, I wonder if its possible to make double-hulled tanks, with the fluids in the inner tank, and the outer tank being essentially an air plenum that you run the hot air through on its way to the other end of the trailer. If the air around the (inner) tank is above freezing, the liquid in the tank will not freeze. If you didn't want to run the furnace output directly around the tanks, you could instead use a separate blower (either manually switched or on a thermostat) to cycle cabin air around the tanks and back into the cabin space again... assuming that the furnace would run as needed to maintain the desired cabin temperature. Very little additional electricity would be required (more 12v watts for slightly longer furnace blower run-times). This design would use slightly more propane to heat the trailer's interior to the same point, but you'd probably have warmer floors as a bonus 🙂

  6. There was at least one Oliver Elite II that has tank heaters. It was ordered by a guy from South Carolina that did what I believe was oil shale work in the northeast during the winter. Bill

  7. Speaking of a different color, the new US built egg shaped Barefoot camper, 3,000 pound GVW weight, originally designed & built in the UK, is available for around $47,000 to $49,000 at dealers. https://nucamprv.com/barefoot-camper/ https://www.rvtrader.com/Nucamp-Barefoot/rvs-for-sale?make=Nucamp|765337120&model=BAREFOOT|764982013

  8. This too has been discussed here on the Forum many times. Oliver did produce 4 Olivers (red, blue, black) plus, of course the white ones we all know and love. Simply put - the man-power cost of adding color as compared to the volume of units produced simply didn't make economic sense. This primarily is due to the need to get every spec of color out of the equipment and environment where the shells are manufactured prior to producing anything of a different color. Bill

  10. Imitation is the greatest form of flattery. 😊 An interesting attempt to copy the The Legacy Elite. They might carve out a tiny market share of the fiberglass TT industry. I just don’t see Cortez Campers as a competitor in the same fit/finish class as an Oliver. Actually not even remotely close. Interestingly enough they are actually listed at the Charleston RV show today for $52,981.00, a slight difference from the below internet price. Patriot🇺🇸 A dealer listed this one in Charleston SC. 😳😳😳

  11. Looks like a nice quality build. I do like the awning / swing-out windows. The refrigerator is a nice size too although I would prefer a true marine style refrigerator that you find in some of the over-land camper builds that have separate slide out refrigerator and freezer sections. Overall I would still choose the Olly given the quality build, components, service support, and styling.

  12. Still have the original front logo but am planning to remove and replace with the attached. If you are thinking it looks as though it was designed by a Kindergartner, it was. One of the kids who used to ride my school bus drew it and I thought it was apt for "Lottie".

  13. When I saw the topic, nose art, my first thought was the "art" our dog always leaves on the windows when watching for wildlife. 🙂 Originally we wanted a decal of the Old Man of the Mountain (the stone face fell from the mountain in 2003, saddening many New Hampshirites). Unfortunately when we projected it onto a photo of an Ollie it just looked like a big, scary head on the trailer. Not the look we were going for. Our daughter started drawing other ideas. At the time the old farmhouse in PEI that we summered in had a barn that swallows made their home and we liked to watch them swooping in and out of the loft windows. When she drew a swallow we had our design and name, though we always just call it the Ollie.

  15. I was using the bubble level on the front jack but everytime we'd be sitting in the trailer and say to each other, "boy, it feels like we're leaning." Go check the level and it's right on, so I pulled out my carpenter's leval and put it on the floor of the trailer and it was off by quite a bit. I wiggled the bubble level on the front jack and bingo, it agreed with the carpenter's level. Take home: the front jack level is a waste of time. My solution is a LevelMatePRO. You initially have to level the trailer using whatever method works, then mount the sending device on the trailer, I fastened it to the inside of the front wall of the closet so it's close enough to the truck that it can be seen by the bluetooth phone-app while I'm still in the driver's seat. I put out my anderson curved levelers and drive up on them until my LevelMate indicates i'm level. It works great. The only issue I've had is having to change the batteries is a pain since it's easier to do it on the table (IE removing it from the mounting location) then trying to do it in the back of a dark closet and risk dropping the screws and batteries, so I have to dismount and remount it every so often. It has an automatic shut-off but I've found I can extend the battery life significantly if I just turn it on when I need it and shut it off when we're done leveling. Additionally, when we first pull into a site, I turn the unit on and drive around or back and forth until I find an appropriate location that is mostly (if not completely) level to start with since it gives real-time feedback, sometimes I don't even need to pull out the levelers. Sometimes just moving 8-10 inches forward or back will result in it going from being 1-2 inches off to being within1/4 inch... I love living in the 21st Century!!!! albert https://www.amazon.com/LogicBlue-Technology-LevelMatePRO-Wireless-Leveling/dp/B01FGGSWPW?th=1

  16. FYI, I added an ON/ OFF switch to my detector, partly in case of nuisance alarms, which hardly every happen, but mainly to eliminate the phantom electrical draw. A side benefit is that it should keep working a lot longer, maybe, perhaps. I flag the compartment when it is switched off, I can’t emphasize enough how critical it is to turn it on and test it before every trip. https://olivertraveltrailers.com/forums/topic/5330-how-to-propane-co-detector-on-off-power-switch/ John Davies Spokane WA

  17. When someone ask me about them, I generally say they are just little brown dogs. Your pair look to be in confirmation condition. This is our Kendal that we lost last March at 15 and our dog is 9. Mossey
