So after some years with our 8 in KTT latex mattresses they became too heavy and firm for my bones. Ordered some new ones from Tochta and they are much softer. I believe, the thought process for KTT was to keep the mattresses firmer due to being used for seating, as well, but I care much more about the recumbent position. So, if anyone is interested in them, come and get them. Local pickup only. If no-one responds within 2 weeks, I will make other arrangements. Great mattresses for the right person. Excellent condition, light water marks from window drip somewhere down the line. PM me. *********** MATTRESSES HAVE NEW OWNER, NO LONGER AVAILABLE *********** Best, M2 points

While working on my travel plans for 2025 I found that Garmin had an update for my 890. In addition, they have an update for "Garmin Express". Both of these updates took longer than usual. Initially I was simply using WiFi to perform the map update but since that seemed to be taking longer I switched to using the Garmin Express. The update to Garmin Express took about 10 minutes and the maps update (still going on as I type this) is forecast to take about an hour and 10 minutes. Bill1 point

Camping in Wyoming, I met Rob & Amy, co-owners of BABCOCK METALS, of Talmage, UT. Rob is a world class welder / fabricator who does work on major industrial products and household furnishings. He also loves the challenge of creating custom designed solutions for customers' unique needs . . . such as an elegant and strong 2" receiver hitch for the back of my Ollie which allows unhindered access to the sewer hose inside the rear bumper and removal of the spare tire cover. Let me show you his creation . . . It started with two machined stainless steel brackets for the exterior of the frame, cut to permit the bumper to swing down without interference. The brackets each had three holes to accommodate a 5/8 inch hardened grade 8 bolts. Inside the frame, he added six solid blocks of aluminum which had also been drilled for the 5/8 inch grade 8 bolts. Using stainless steel curved tubing with a 2 inch ID, Rob measured the angles required to ensure clearance would permit access to the rear bumper compartment and spare tire. Finally, he made a 2" receiver, curved exactly for welding onto the stainless steel pipe. His artistry at welding is evident in the finished product. After applying a brushed finish to the exterior of the hitch, Rob installed it onto The Wonder Egg. The hitch fits the rear portion of the frame perfectly and each of the six grade 8, hardened steel bolts was snugged down with 200 ft lbs of torque. I feel very confident in the ability of this custom hitch to do the job. If you ever think that you may be traveling near eastern Utah and are in search for a hitch solution for your Ollie, contact Babcock Metals (678.480.0204) and I bet they could create just what your are looking for.1 point

We almost put that into the loop. But had to cut something.☹️ But I still have it on my list. I'm considering stopping there for a few days when we take our big trip to UT in the spring. TY1 point

Should your plans change, Village Creek State Park near Wynne, Arkansas is one of the nicer state parks we have visited.1 point

I have been using rings similar to these for a few years now on my 30# tanks and they have held up really well. I cut a patterned piece of thin rubber for the LP tank floor and between the rings and the rubber I have no metal to metal contact or rust issues on the bottom edge of the tank ring or the tank platform. So far all good!1 point

Mike - Thanks for offering these up to a "new" Ollie home. Hopefully someone is in need of a mattress or two. FYI everyone - Mike is a great guy with a bunch of toys in the garage. He and the family are located just outside of Nashville, TN. Bill1 point

I always have my 4 sided Clam with me since it nicely fits into the closet. I never use it if its: hot or if I'm simply stopping for only a day or two. But, when the bugs are bad and the temps are below the mid 80's I provides a great place to read, relax by a stream, and have a beverage (or two). It is also a great place to sit when there is a light rain. Simply put - the Clam gives you options. Bill1 point

Don't have a Clam shelter, but have been snug as a bug in my little legacy1 in very high winds. I can't imagine any of these shelters are up to the task of the high intensity winds and micro blasts of the inter-mountain West and other areas. Best to take them down at night. Also, there is a pretty good app called Windy that gives detailed wind information, both current and projected, worth looking in to. Dave1 point

We are cruising out of Jacksonville. This past January, we made arrangements with Retro Reno there in Jacksonville to work with CGI as a spot to do our ceramic coating and they'd told us to stop in if we passed that way again. So we contacted them late this summer to see if we could rent a spot. Since we were last there, they've become Escape and Casita dealers, and built a new shop, so I was concerned that they might not have room. Daniel called me, looked at their schedule, and said they would have room for us. He also offered to have us camp there the night before departure, and he will drive us to and from the ship port to avoid parking at the dock. All at a price I was comfortable with, and only a bit more than the RV/oversized spots at the port. I was dreading leaving the trailer at the port with the e-bikes on the back and valuables inside! So this was a huge relief for us.1 point

We just camped in several New Mexico State Parks. I actually don't remember paying any additional. I purchase an Indiana and Texas State Parks passes because we camp there for 10-20 days and the passes pay for themselves. $600 annual pass in New Mexico wouldn't pay for itself. Each state is different. One has to do the math to determine whether to purchase an annual pass🙃1 point

Well our 4 side has 9 lives. On Cape Cod it was one stake from the ship channel. At Inks Lake several years ago, it ended up 250 yards back on the park Road. Another time it landed in our pond while I had it on the patio to clean and dry The four corner tabs have all come off and been re-attached with fishing line. Holes have been patched. It keeps on ticking. We will continue to use it until we can't.1 point

JD: Thanks for the compliment.... I think??? LOL Seriously though, would it not be pretty cool to cherry pick our what must be about ten million OTT forum posts (more or less) and gather them up as a tutorial for new and potential owners? Could be a Oliver University crash course based upon all the mistakes us ROF's have already done. About 27% of the time I like not making an OOPs myself. Prefer that others do it first and I can read about it. But at times I just like to make the mistake myself.1 point

I received the following from my storage facility today: Dear Tenants, We hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the holiday season!! We are writing to let you know that we will be adding a line item to the lease regarding Lithium batteries and storage as many insurance companies are starting to NOT cover damage due to fires caused by lithium batteries. Per the previous, the following verbiage is being added to all current leases: "From hence forth, lithium batteries are strictly prohibitid from storage and or charging without express written consent from Landlord. Tenant will be liable for any damages resulting from charging any type of batteries" If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call. I haven't yet called. Has anyone received such a notification or have any info regarding this?0 points
