  1. I would like to suggest an alternative to the 24 gallon ActionPacker, the 27 gallon Greenmade Tote. It is available at Costco for $8.50, much less than the ActionPacker 24. It is also available at other stores for $9-$14. It is lockable, although a determined thief could easily overcome the lock. I have driven through rainstorms with it, and in my hands it is waterproof. It fits perfectly in the Ollie storage basket. I carry my empty grey water waste tote on top of it.

  2. If you're looking for something bombproof, I've used Hardigg cases for years. I don't know what you'd have to do to destroy one, and you can spray them down with a power washer without them leaking. You can always find them on eBay in different sizes, sometimes very cheap. Appearance quality is hit and miss since most of them are military surplus. I've got a bunch of grey ones in the 1818-0603 size, which is about the largest that I'd want to lift over my head to put on a rack, but you could use a larger one on the front basket. I've thought about getting a huge one for the back of the Ollie to cary my wife's telescope. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2380057.m570.l1313&_nkw=hardigg&_sacat=0

  3. JScott The 2021 color choices are in the attached brochure. I narrowed down which colors I wanted and Phil sent us samples. We pick up our LE2 on June 30. Hope this helps. Pam 2021-OTT-Brochure.pdf

  4. This won't find all the non ethanol spots, but it's a start, when you're traveling. https://www.pure-gas.org/

  5. Can't speak for the rest of the country - but in my neck of the woods we have plenty of sources for non ethanol fuel - high octane and other - I only use non ethanol high octane in everything but the truck, the Honda SUV, and the tractor. Never have issues, long term or other. Good travels all. RB

  6. Here is our former Tiffin class A motorhome being driven away by its new owners. The timing is perfect as we were less than two weeks away from needing to put down the 50% deposit on our Oliver. We are really looking forward to July 14 our scheduled pick up date.

  7. Another option; Went this route and sealed the inside lid of the Action Packer with foam weather strip for Andersen chocks and blocks. Secured with Rhino ratchet straps. Small master locks (visual deterrent only) certainly not going to stop a determined thief.

  8. We just put our deposit down for a LEII and its expected in Feb. We are super excited to get our Ollie and we look forward to meeting those in this family!! I've owned a couple trailers since 2000 so I'm not new to camping but my Mrs. on the other hand.......... 🙂 We are down sizing from a Grand Design Imagine 30' TT which was a great trailer and company. We are looking to do more boondocking and the over build quality of the Ollies is undeniable and was one of the main things that attracted us. We went a couple weeks ago to see an Ollie in person and we were both very surprised (in a good way), loved the layout and that was pretty much all we needed to call Phil and place our deposit. Cheers, JJ

  10. Jumping in as we use them as well... size of Action Packer that fits the Oliver Front Tray. Not suggesting you buy from Amazon, just using it to show the size etc. Craig

  12. It misses some good sources near me, but it's still a good start. Five or six years ago, we drove several miles across county,, for non ethanol. Still felt it was worth it. Today, two miles. On my route to mom's. Easy peasy.

  14. You are right IMO, RB. Non ethanol is the way to go but can be hard to find sometimes 🙂 Anyway, weed whackers and chainsaws are things of the past for me, and if I need a generator I will definitely go with non ethanol!

  16. When on our factory tour on March 18, we were told Oliver has discontinued the graphics, except for the front of the trailer. We chose a color combination for the standard Oliver logo graphic. I don't know the effective date of this change, but it certainly applies to 2022 models. My understanding is the model year changes in October.

  17. Great price. At that rate you can buy about 22 of them and still be cheaper than the new battery solar option Oliver offers🤪

  18. By “after every major use” I meant if you run it a day or two in a power outage and then put it away for an unknown period of time, maybe for another six months! Drain it first! If you are on a weeks long camping trip and run it every now and then, drain it when you get back home. If you do not get into this habit, you will forget to do it and the darn thing won’t run right the next time you need it. If you transport it inside an SUV it would be wise to empty the carb first or you may get odors....Fuel stabilizer, for sure. Alcohol free gas if you can get it (all Maverik stations have it). All my power equipment runs on this. This Archoil 6200 Fuel Treatment is voodoo magic. I use it routinely in every vehicle and in my power equipment. My neighbor’s mower was surging and that is a sure sign of a plugged main jet in the carb. We tried a double strength dose of the 6200 in fresh gas and let in run. In twenty minutes the surging disappeared and it ran normally. John Davies Spokane WA

  19. I agree, Swamp. And, BoB. Before storage. Certainly not every day! We use stabil, too.

  20. All, Quick note back to the other Ollie owners out there to let everyone know the new "longer" shackles arrived on Friday and were installed on Saturday. Happy to report that the installation went fairly easy and the upward travel is now ~1.5" as designed. Thanks again to Jason and his team on getting me the new shackles in a short timeframe and working with me on getting the trailer ready for our next trip.

  21. I have a portable CB with magnetic roof antenna, I always thought I would use it, but the few times I tried on the highway, I just could not understand what they were talking about..... I should try it on forest roads when loggers are around, sometimes I do worry about meeting one on a blind curve. For road hazards on the highway I will rely on my Garmin traffic alerts, and Waze, when I have a cell signal... John Davies Spokane WA

  22. I have been a licensed ham radio since the 7th grade, 54 years ago. The repeater system works well, but I also have a CB mounted in the truck for 2 reasons. Ch 19, the trucker's channel, gives me road information. Ch 9 is the emergency channel used by various volunteer groups to monitor, well, emergencies. REACT monitors ch 9. Range is limited, frequently, depending upon atmospheric conditions. GMRS and FCS are also systems that are available, but every trucker has a cb. Language aside, there is much to be learned about extended road conditions. Other channels have specific purposes. So, yes I use a CB and consider it a communication safety device, albeit sometimes with limited range Ham radio gives me something to do while driving. Worldwide communications are regularly possible. It's fun. Something to do at a rainy campsite. John

  23. Oh my! Didn't mean to whack on the wiring diagram hornet nest 💣 LOL John Davies - Excellent suggestion. We will take some goodies for potential bribes. Additionally, we will deploy our super secret stealth camera should we happen upon any of the elusive wiring diagrams. 🙉

  24. You do need a certain amount up front - one must offset the load attached to the rear 11/4 " carrier. Balance is important- The art of front to back distribution - exposed: Simple really. Happy Friday. RB

  25. I got tired of seeing my Anderson hitch chains looking rusted and I knew paint was only going to be temporary solution. I considered replacing the chains with plastic/rubberized covered chains but found a lower cost option. I used Techflex Flexo Clean Cut 1 1/2-Inch Braided Cable Sleeve, in black - 10 Feet. Amazon sells it for $8 - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007VT09LS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The 10 foot length is perfect to cover both chains in my case. It cuts clean with scissors and the ends can be burnished with a lighter. You can still see through the braiding to make sure you have no twisted in the chain and it only took a few minutes to put on over the chains. I used tie-straps braided through the last chain links on both ends to hold them in place.
