  1. You really put your Ollie on a diet. That's approaching weight of a bloated Elite I.

  2. Thanks to all the staff at Oliver for a great delivery! We are traveling home after one night at the old sales office in Hohenwald, two nights at David Crockett SP, and now tonight we are at Cumberland Falls State Resort Park in KY. Many thanks, also, to Foy Sperring for our fabulous countertops, drawer dividers, and shower mat. Such luxury! We regret a bit that our ARE Truck Cap did not arrive from the manufacturer in time for the trip. I was told there is a fiberglass shortage. Perhaps due to COVID? Who knows. Thankfully, our dealer loaned us a brand-new tonneau cover for the journey. Whew! Boy, do these trailers pull smoooooothly! 4BD73794-9B5F-4B4F-AEFB-38CAB39A23CF.heic 1F3E5195-5718-4602-AB81-E11CAE949EE2.heic

  3. I have not weighted items transported in Ollie, but interested in keeping Ollie's total weight low. We are minimalist taking only what's needed for each trip. Weighed our LE2 Ollie May 20 on the way home from a camping trip. Ready to camp weight is 4940 pounds with empty water tanks except for full 6 gallon hot water heater, this keeps Ollie under TV recommended WDH weight. We do not have factory installed solar panels. One thing done increasing overall weight was installation of 11" memory foam mattresses. For weight reductions installed one 100AH BattleBorn lithium battery, only use two 1 gallon LP gas tanks (last 2 years), and moved Ollie's spare tire to the pickup truck bed. Load refrigerator & closet to keep Ollie's tongue weight at 10% for trailer stability. Just installed new Cooper LT Discoverer HT3 commercial tires that weigh 37 pounds each, believe most new Ollies have this type of tire. When camping without shore-power, keep a gen-set & suitcase solar panel in the TV not affecting Ollie's weight. One 1 gallon LP bottle will run the refrigerator and lightly used cook top for 4 days, can lift a full 1 gallon LP bottle with 3 fingers. Use the gen-set for power to water heater when without shore-power.

  4. So we are feeling like the kids in the candy store who can't have the candy ......quite yet!! We just got back from our vacation and tour of the Oliver Factory. We really enjoyed seeing the ollie's on the showroom floor. Actually being inside one we were able to visualize. The factory tour was amazing and Anita was a gracious, extremely informative , super fun host! Feb cannot some soon enough. Feb 14 is our pick up date. We have begun the planning process. Unfortunately , my phone had a glitch and I can't seem to pull up the pics of the tour. We did manage to get to the red river gorge in Kentucky a few days before the gas issue. Here's a pic of our tow vehicle going through the Nada tunnel. Some of the red river gorge scenic byway was washed out. We had a delightful stay at Harvest Host Arcadian Moon Winery and Brewery. Looking forward to posting pictures with the Ollie in tow!

  5. So glad you got to experience the Oliver tour! It’s really amazing to see how Oliver creates their unique Travel Trailers. The new show room floor is like glass and Oliver has done an amazing job sparing little expense to show off their best. We were there just a few weeks ago and spent a fair amount of time with Anita she is a very special gal. We also had a wonderful conversation with Sales & Service Manager Rodney Lomax who is a great listener. A really down to earth good guy. Jason Essary and Mike Sharpe go above and beyond in service in our experience. Valentines Day will be here before you know it! Welcome to the forum and now is a great time to hit the books at Oliver University. -Patriot

  6. We are constantly changing what we carry depending upon the trip. Since we're preparing for a 9 month road trip, I thought I would take a moment to categorize the items we have to carry and put it into an XLS and share that with the forum. Here's the OVERVIEW total weight of what is in the truck bed. If you want to see what makes up that weight...the XLS is attached listing details like Bikes, Generator, Camp Chairs, etc. The full xls is attached which lists all the items and their individual weights. We plan on scrubbing the contents before we start our 9 month road trip. truck manifest.xlsx

  7. I’ve been looking for some time to have a security camera above the entry door. Most wireless cameras are not wireless they still need a power wire. I also didn’t want to drill holes and fish wiring though the hull. Roaming around Walmart I spotted this back up camera by Whistler. The camera is totally wireless and once fully charged via USB it has built in solar to keep the battery maintained. The monitor is 4in and plugs into a 12v outlet. With a suction cup mount. Looking at the picture on the box it looked like it would be a perfect fit above the entry door. The purchase price was $100,00 I rolled the dice if it didn’t fit perfectly it was going back. I did a Amazon check it appears this model is only sold at Walmart. The reviews on the whistler models were mixed good and bad. Once the camera was charged I turned on the monitor within seconds the picture appeared. Very nice color image it has inferred for night time haven’t try it yet. Very few features it is not a continuous on you can choose 20 sec to 120 sec on then auto off plenty of time to see who is outside your door. Also no audio or recording capability. Simple setup no frills. Mounting the camera I used Scotch outdoor heavy duty Velcro very secure. Very happy on the looks of the camera attached to the hull above the door it looks like a factory installed option. The Big question?? Will it last, does anything these days? It’s the $100.00 question. We shall see I'll give a review in 6 month’s the warranty is good for one year. attached are the photos of the install.

  8. Sherry, good idea. It would be interesting to see what folks pack and why they carry what they do. We’ve been paring down what we take. Some of it depends on how we’re going to camp, hook ups or no hook ups, will we need the generator or not? We’ve increased our tow vehicle from a Tacoma to a half ton to a 3/4 ton, but haven’t really increased our cargo… in fact we’ve probably decreased what we bring. Mike

  10. I have a Casita (looking for an Oliver). I have Toyo AT II tires on the trailer with around 6k-8k on them and they look brand new and have been bullet proof. I’ve been on some very rugged, rocky terrains, and knowing the heavier duty sidewall was there gave some added comfort.

  11. ? Unless he upgraded them to install disks, the LE2 has always had 3500 pound axles, to the best of my knowledge. I don't know the actual bare axle weights, but the brake parts and hubs alone are 44 pounds heavier (all four) for the big axles. I am sure the bigger axles are quite a bit heavier, maybe add another 20 pounds for two of those. Overkill indeed. John Davies Spokane WA

  12. Guess two 5200 pound axles and Commercial tires might be a little overkill on a 4940 pound trailer! 🙂

  17. The most updated word is 90 days before our rally, we can make camping reservations at Lake Casitas! Yay for 2021!!! It's going to happen folks! This puts us at the end of July to call or go online for those much wanted camping spots at the lake. More information to follow as it comes in! Paula

  18. Similar experience... our fridge cord also came unplugged, twice now. I blame the most recent occurrence on a very long stretch of rough interstate pavement with patches on patches. Used a flashlight and a mirror-on-a-stick to see what was going on behind the cabinet's rear wall. This time I tie-wrapped the cord (near the plug end) down to something solid. We'll see how that holds.

  19. In NC looked liked the fuel shortage was easing so planned a trip to Wilkesboro NC. Debbie and I had the privilege of spending time with David and Kathy (Patriot) for a few days at Bandit's Roost ACE campground. We had a fine time exploring the area for a few days with perfect camping weather! Patriot's Beautiful Ollie: Our Ollie: One of the places visited was Raffaldini Vineyards NC:

  21. WOW - you are going make this hurt. Will round up and estimate high : Truck: Bikes -1 26 Tools - 40 Clam and mats 50 Miscellaneous 70 Chairs/tables 35 Gen set / fuel 56 Full ARB 70 Webber 10 Kayak and gear 60 Water bottled 20 Water bulk 100 Cap 250 Bed mat/box 100 People 320 Dog 85 # 1616 payload - including fuel and DEF ( 350 = full tank and DEF) Not including the trailer hitch weight ~ 600 =/- so you could say ~ 2200 for payload total in truck Trailer ~5800 last Cat scale Probably closer to 6300 with full H2O and 2 month trip load. Full 2 - 30 lbs. propane, 2 bikes, rear rack. food/clothes/kitchen sink Truck was approx 7200 half tank, empty bed, So Payload =1616, trailer = 6300, truck = 7000 After a big breakfast just round up max 15,000 pounds at start. (note - water is not full, bulk water not full until AZ) This represents our most likely heaviest total load - I would guess the week or less trips one could subtract 1K. RB

  22. Tomorrow, if we get time, I'm going to try to add up wrights of items we carry. I'm doubting we're over 700 pounds in the bed, unless we haul the atv. We'll see. Can't promise on tomorrow . Its likely a busy day, but, I'll try. And, thanks for starting an interesting thread
