B and B - The only problem that I think there is with the Lippert shade is that it can not be opened and closed with the screen door in place. That means that you will need to open the door, unlatch the screen door from the main door, adjust the blind and then close both doors. This, obviously, prohibits being able to see who might be at the door without opening the door first - assuming that the blind is closed. With the Zarcor, you can adjust the blind from the inside without having to open the door. As far as I know, this is the only "shade system" that has this most important feature. Bill5 points

Correct, here’s a YouTube video where Jason actually mentions not to leave the outside shower open or it would cause the inside water to be cold….at about 16:25 time in the video2 points

Normally, there isn't really much "light" out there during the night. But, if you are referring to those times one is "camped" at WalMart and the like or in Alaska or under that one and only street light in the entire campground then (as Patriot points out) the combination of the tinted window and the blinds makes for a more than reasonable blockage of this kind of light - at least as good as the day/night shades that come stock with the Ollie. Note that both Patriot and I talk about the "tinted" window. There is also the option to replace the stock "frosted" window with a clear window but again, as Patriot points out, the tinted window matches the other tinted windows on the Ollie and still allows for seeing just who might be knocking at your door prior to opening it. Remember - most of us do not travel with "Reacher" on board! Bill2 points

Great question Steve. Does the tinted window and Zarcor blind block all light? I would say not 💯. The blind might still may allow a real tiny seam of light to enter around the perimeter of the blind kinda similar to a home blind. When we see y’all at this years rally you are more than welcome to come by and have a look at it and see what you think. From a privacy aspect as when the blind is quickly opened it does help to see who is unexpectedly knocking at the door. It’s also allows for another window to be looked through when the blind is open. The Zarcor tinted window does match up well with the other Oliver windows. -David @topgun2 shared this mod with us and may have some input. 😊2 points

If either or both of these valves are open, you would only have have water pouring out onto the the ground. There is no mixing valve in that area. The article referenced was about a setup in a motor home. None of its components and certainly not its plumbing layout would be the same as in our Oliver’s. I doubt this will be the solution to your issue.2 points

@hobo, it takes a big person to admit error and help others. Thanks so much for the guidance. You'll undoubtedly save others from similar issues.2 points

Here is another option from Zarcor. It is an OceanAir roller shade, like you would find in an Airstream. We wanted to make sure we had a full, unobstructed view from the window, when the shade was open. It also works as a grab handle, when closing the screen. Here is the part information if anyone is intersted. CSH-3-W - OceanAir CABINshade, White - 21 5/8" x 23 5/8" x 24 1/8. It is a custom size. Andrew2 points

All good points Bill. And when all else fails my eyelids pull the good night curtain when it’s time to hit the hay.. 😂😴1 point

There is another option from Zarcor that works from the inside without opening the door. See @Andrew K post & pics of Ocean Air roller shade at this link. This is the upgrade my wife prefers, it’s on my task list. Ocean Air Roller Shade1 point

Thank you for this bit of troubleshooting information. Still learning every time I take the trailer on the road. I cannot confirm if this is what happened (assuming if it was then it wouldn’t have come back on after I reconnected power), but something to consider if it happens again.1 point

This mod looks great. I am currently looking into this as one of our first mods when we take delivery. A few weeks ago I was in an RV dealer looking through their parts department and they had a very nice Lippert display. The Oliver doors are made by Lippert. Has anyone tried the Lippert “Thin Shade” mod or compared it to this one? I looks really nice and gives you a much better view through the window. https://store.lci1.com/thin-shade-complete-window-kit-for-rv-entry-doors-806621 Let me know what you think. Brian1 point

When I had this happen it was the EMS relay not pulling in once the power was confirmed good. Called Progressive Industries and they sent me a replacement unit to install. Upon additional inspection, it appeared the coil wiring shorted out thereby not allowing the magnetic force to develop pulling in the switch. All was good once replaced. I now carry some 10g Wago 221-612 wire clips with me so I can wire around the relay if it happens to me out on an extended trip. Not idea, but I have a WatchDog power checker I use before connecting to the power anyway. When bypassing the relay one would have to connect L3-->T3, L2-->T2, and L1-->T1 with the Wago connectors to bypass the relay directly under these connections. Once your new unit comes in you would just replace the whole unit. I looked everywhere for a replacement relay to carry with me but the part number on the relay came up empty on multiple google searches. This is the Wago Connector mentioned above. You will need to carry 3 with you to bypass relay, if needed.1 point

Do some searches on this as likely there are other similar products at a less expensive cost. I do suggest that you ensure your selection is rated for the temperature you expect it to be utilized. Good luck, GJ1 point

Oops....added forum item: Truma Aquago Hot Water Heater FYI Went to take a shower in our new MH that has the Truma Aquago Endless Hot Water Heater this weekend and the hot water would only get luke warm. Too cool to take a shower. Two weeks ago, it worked just fine. The trouble shooting begin and after about twelve hours later, my wife reached out to Facebook for help. Luckily a quick response said to check the outside shower to make sure both the hot and cold water faucets were off, because if they wasn't, the hot and cold water would mix. Sure enough, that's what it was. FYI, make sure you turn the outside shower faucets off. __________________ Steve1 point

If you don't have the front shore power inlet, curbside on the propane enclosure, there won't be a transfer switch. This sounds like your situation. Many possibilities for a cause here. As long as it's working now, periodically check the shore power connections with your hand at inlet and pedestal ends for unusually warm temperature signally a loose/corroded or otherwise poor connection. As long as power is getting to the EMS, the remote display should light up. Even if the (buzzing) relay in the EMS were to fail in a manner that prevented power from getting through to the main panel, this in and of itself would not cause the remote display to go dark.1 point

UPDATE ALSO: In the installation videos they show the outside frame should be taped to keep it in place. DO IT! I thought I would defy the local wisdom and simply hold the glass and frame in place while removing the old glass and putting in the new: Well two things happened (neither of which were good). First, while trying to push the new window firmly into the outside frame (to compress the caulking while seating the glass, I loosened up the outer frame thereby requiring I remove the outer frame from the door and re-caulk it since I broke the bead. Second reason for the tape is to hold the new glass in place while you are messing with trying to snap the inner and out frames together. I again learned a valuable lesson because when it was all over and done, it appears the glass slipped down slightly which has caused the inner frame to be slightly warped which prevents me from putting in the tightly fitted shade. Once you put the new glass in place, recommend you apply duct tape to it to keep it in position while you're wrestling with the frames. That said, I am now faced with taking the inner frame apart from the outer frame (praying I don't break any of the tabs on my newly purchased inner frame) and then removing and re-caulking the new glass and essentially doing the project twice.1 point
