  1. After a long wait, the day finally came last week. We picked up our LE II and could not be happier. We camped in it for two night on electric and water and then two nights dry camping. Temps were between 30 and 50 and we could not have been more comfortable. We have been on the forums for quite some time now so I won't introduce myself. Looking forward to meeting new people and putting some faces to forum names at the Owner's Rally in May. This is a picture of our campsite at Mousetail Landing State Park about an hour from Hoenwald, TN. Cheers, Brian & Brandelyne

  2. We took delivery of our Oliver LE II last week and we got the Goodyear Wrangler Workhorse AT tires in LT225/75R16. I really like the tread pattern and have had good luck with these tires before.

  3. This is reassuring with the comparison to AS in particular. Early on we were considering the other brand and others before we settled on Oliver. Again, I'm not terribly worried about Oliver quality. After two factory tours and the many positive reviews and experiences, I've got a pretty good picture of what to expect. But I'm a stickler for details and so it's always in the back of my mind. Again congratulations and many well wishes for fun and trouble free camping.

  5. Congratulations, I am sure you will be happy with your selection. After 4 days of camping we went to the CAT scales and my rig was exactly 2,000 pounds lighter than it was towing the AS. We had a 30’ Flying Cloud. I was VERY pleased with the weigh ticket. Tows like a dream too. Cheers, BL

  6. Congrats! Very reassuring with the comparison to the AS as we are also ex ASmers. Loved our 26U, still think it’s the best AS layout and lots of storage! Anyway, as I said on other posts my Touareg TDI towed the AS like a champ but it was at the upper limit for payload. My wife wouldn’t budge on a larger TV so here we are, our LE2 is scheduled for a May 23rd delivery! 😊

  7. There was another thread about tires and wheels for 2023. I posted there but will repeat here. Our trailer came with Goodyear Wrangler Workhorse AT/LT tires in 225/75R16 size. I really like the tread on these tires and have had good luck with 16” LT’s on previous trailers. One other thing we were surprised about: The storage compartment below the nightstand is now GONE. All the videos I have seen show that compartment and we were actually looking forward to having it. We asked why it was removed and the only answer we got was “engineering made the decision not to continue with it”.

  8. Yes, and the inspection is “on-going”. So far, we have had very few issues and the ones that could not be addressed while we were there will be addressed on the way to the rally in May. The build quality is excellent. We are still dealing with “new boat smell” and venting it out every day. The most significant difference between Oliver and Airstream is in the wiring and plumbing. Regardless of minor wiring issues people find here and there, this wiring is head and shoulders above AS. The plumbing is too. We have the best water pressure we have ever had in any travel trailer. I think it is a combination of a good pump, the accumulator tank and short-run plumbing. Whatever it is, we like it. Oh, one more thing. We always said AS is a two-season camper (spring and fall). The insulation is not that great. The Oliver, on the other hand, was cozy and warm. We are looking forward to an all season camper! Thanks for asking! BL

  9. Best not to put phone numbers or email addresses of people in posts on the forum. There are a lot of scammers/spammers that look at this site searching for personal info. Send that type of information through a direct message to the intended person.

  15. I have the original factory cushions. Says they're upgraded on the original invoice, though I have no idea what that means. All I know is they're pretty darn comfortable so I haven't felt the need to replace them.

  16. Interesting, but the video is four times too long, that man does like to hear himself talk. I think hydraulic disks plus ABS should be standard on every Ollie. They don’t need sway control but they sure do need a reliable, “transparent” brake system. Like your tow vehicle. ABS for Trailers? Montana Owners Forum The big questions are: how much $$$ and how hard is it to retrofit on an older trailer? John Davies Spokane WA

  17. Yes, the “secret” storage that I planned to soft-line and store items you might want out of plan sight. The NS drawer is still there and you can opt for the lower door to the basement, we did not since we might one day want a lagun table. We wanted to live in it first to make that decision. BL

  18. Have you done a thorough inspection? How does the build quality compare to your former Airstream?

  19. I’m looking for a relatively safe place to store an elite II starting next week for just under two weeks. Traveling down from Gulf shores to take a 10 day cruise out of southern Florida. Thought it might be easier to drop the trailer on the way down vs storing it at the cruise terminal. Any help/experiences would be great!

  24. The Goodyear Endurance tires are well regarded in the towable RV field. I'd be ok with them on my Oliver. ST tires have strengthened sidewalls to handle the sideways scrubbing trailer tires endure in tight turns. @bugeyedriver We've had Maxxis on our previous 3 trailers with absolutely no issues at all. Very nice tires, too.

  26. This is incorrect for all brands of lithium RV batteries. I don’t camp a lot of days, but toward the end of my second season with 200 AH of Battle Borns, they have only had 15 actual cycles…. because I rarely run the State of Charge very far down. Usually the panels catch up each day after a minimal discharge overnight. For a residence that has daily deep cycles from its solar installation, the cycles can add up very fast indeed. Going by the above chart an Ollie owner could expect six YEARS of once a day deep discharges before it deteriorates to 80% of its original capacity. I expect my BB batteries to essentially outlive me 😬 This is just one reason switching to Lithiums makes so much sense for owners when their lead acid batteries die, especially if they expect to own the trailer for more than three or four years. 27. Let me expand on this a bit. 1- The AC will drain your Lithium batteries if used for too long, but it won't do it in an hour. 2- A 1000W generator can output a maximum of just over 8 Amps. If you've used 360 amps out of your batteries running the AC for several hours it will take this generator nearly two days to recharge your batteries. 3- LiFePo batteries can take thousands of cycles.
