Little Green Herons have been nesting in the trees in our yard the past few years. Four fledglings lines up nicely for me. And Screech Owls keep coming to check out the nesting box, but never stick around long enough to build a nest.

It’s not causing your leak, but the little round ring IS part of the scupper drain. Here’s a pic of the one under our black tank. It’s a small stainless ring with screen, poking through the insulation directly above the outer scupper on the lower hull (same for all of the scuppers on the hull).

Honda presently does not make a cover for the 3200i. I opted to order this cover from https://www.coversandall.com . I measured and ordered the gen cover to also fully cover the 3 gal roto pax, security tray and puck lock. There are grommets at the base of the cover which I will run para cord through to cinch it securely in place. We drove two hours on Saturday to see an Oliver, coordinated by the HQ sales team. To say it was life changing may be a little over the top, but not by much. We had gone to see one of our favorite Fifth Wheel RVs two days prior, to have the comparison fresh in our mind. My reaction was the same as every other Fifth wheel experience. I love the recliners facing a 50” TV, spacious kitchen, etc; but, when I go back outside, I am totally intimidated by the size, especially the height. As soon as we walked into the Ollie it was love at first sight, for both of us. Typically, when I go in a traditional travel trailer, it is disappointing. “Cheap balsa wood crap” is always how it feels. The Ollie was exactly opposite. Despite all our reading and YouTube videos, we were not prepared for the impact of the quality. I’m struggling to put it into words. Cozy, embracing, just right … ? So, we’ll be scheduling our trip to Nashville for as soon as possible. 👍 Larry and Linda

I did not want a latex mattress for my twin E2. I do not find them comfortable and they are heavy and floppy when removing/moving to clean and acceas hatches beneath. Until now, I have ised tje standard cushion with a 4” REI inflatable mattress as a topper. It has worked well except that the valve has begun to leak and I have tried to fix it without success. I began to look for places which would build custom inner spring mattresses. I found one and is was more than a set of new tires for the Ollie. Newp! I decided I would try to modify a standard twin (39x75”) to fit the E2, including the radius corner. I have a spare twin mattress at home but it has top and bottom perimeter 3/16” wire which I didn't want to deal with splicing back together. So, instead I found a new innerspring twin and brought it home. After using my Ollie cushion to trace the new shape onto the new mattress I cut into the mattress and using wire cutters, snipped away two rows of coils plus a single coil on the corner to accommodate the radius, stitched the batting and cover back together and here is the result. So far I am liking the result. It is very firm and is rigid and light. Will sleep on it in a few nights to see if it passes the test First pic is of new mattress. I’ve been considering similar upgrades to our 2019 and I think the biggest factor in the equation of upgrade cost vs. resale value vs. cost of buying a new trailer comes down to the labor cost and whether you’ll be doing the work yourself (“free” labor) or paying Oliver or Truma or an RV service center to do the work. As an example, someone recently mentioned they had received a quote from Oliver of over $5,000 to do just the fridge update. Most of that (well over half) was labor cost.

Success, third time did the job! Previously I had been trying to twist the sleeve, but there was simply too much glued surface to break it loose. After heating, I inserted a large common screwdriver blade between the fan housing and the black sleeve. Twisting the blade in a couple of spots provided enough linear force to break the bond.

I just packed up my 3 year old Traeger Ranger for a 5 day trip to Mt. Pisgah campground….for just 2 people it’s a great choice. The temps fluctuate a bit, the end product is great. I purchased from Costco, knowing that with their return policy, I couldn’t go wrong. I also packed a Weber Q1200, with the Weber griddle; I will used both the Traeger & Weber to good effect. These ribs were Traeger ribs.

I'm curious about your cargo carrying capacity. Your 2019 Q7 has a maximum cargo carrying capacity of 1367 pounds. Out of that must come the weight of everything that was not installed at the factory. Tongue Weight 600-700 pounds and I wouldn't be surprised at that weight. Two averaged size adults (statistically) 340 pounds. That only leaves you around 350 pounds for all your other stuff. Pets, camping gear, chairs, tables, chocks, blocks, tools, outside grill, clam, ground rug, box of tissues, phone chargers and on and on... My toolbox alone would eat almost all that weight. Were it me, I'd get a more capable tow vehicle. The towing capacity is about the least useful statistic you can know about your vehicle. You are living on the edge.

@Ralph Mawyer We recently had the Truma upgrade completed on our 2020 LE2 by Oliver Service and are very happy with it. A game changer for us. Some folks are fine with the Dometic, we were not. We have no interest in the smaller compressor fridge. We have the Norcold with more space and it serves us well. The Lithium pkg was not offered when we ordered our Ollie in 2020. When ordering we did upgrade to the AGMs. We have the Truma Aqua Go and for many reasons like it. The only upgrade I would consider is replacing our AGMs maybe someday when they give up the ghost with new Lithium batteries. Hopefully by this time Lithium batteries will have come way down in price. Time will tell. A recent quote from Mike Sharpe at Oliver Service for the basic Lithium conversion on our LE2 was $10k. 😳 I am just not a player at that price as I don’t see long term return on resale. On the other hand if I was looking at a used Oliver and it had the Truma Aventa AC, I would consider the the puchase of a used LE2 with the Truma AC over the Dometic Penguin. FWIW.. Patriot🇺🇸

John, thank you! I also spoke with Mike at Oliver Service this morning.. He suggested trying heat again, and if that failed to carefully cut the black plastic off, and replace it with a new sleeve. That’s a duh moment for me, why didn’t I think of it? It’s a nice morning down here. Sun on the mountains, mountain goats in the spotting scope.

Imo, that little "nose ring" or retaing clip has zero to do with your leak. Too small, and does not appear to fit anywhere in the puzzle above. I'd take some better photos, and send on to Oliver. In the meantime, I'd spray the area with hydrogen peroxide, Don some rubber gloves, clean everything in the area with shop towels, and see what I could see, with clean fresh water draining from the toilet. It doesn't look like a big leak, but who knows how long it was dry. Have you checked the toilet valve flush seal? We delivered a used rental motorhome once, that had sat all summer with a full tank. (🤢) delivery, not ours. The toilet valve didn't actually close/seal completely, which gave off significant black tank odors. It had dried out a bit, and was well, dirty. Put on my gloves. I cleaned it with a soft toothbrush (not mine, an old one 🤣), lubed it up to bring it back to life, and voila, no more smell. Not my motorhome, and I had few selections for lube on board, so I used neosporin from my first aid kit, about 99 per cent petroleum jelly. Were I at home, I'd have used rv valve lube, let it sit awhile, and hoped for the best. At any rate, it worked, along with the cleaning. You'd be surprised how much stink can come from a small/tiny gap in that valve. I was. In other words, you may have more than one issue. S##t happens when trailers sit a long time, unused and not cared for.

@Jstone A great report on the Traeger Ranger, Thank you! We also have the Q1200 grill and it travels really well. It looks like a Traeger Ranger maybe back on the front burner (pun intended) for purchase at some point! Great report and your photo makes me want to hickory smoke a few racks of baby backs! @Going Coastal I would suggest sending those photos to Oliver Service and see if they can assist you with a resolution to your issue. You have obviously had a leak or likely still do if you’re smelling a strong odor. Even though you are years out of warranty they very well may have seen this before and could suggest a fix. We also have been using a Traeger pellet smoker at home for almost nine years now. It's obviously durable as we have used it weekly and the only repair has been the little igniter element. We decided to get a more portable pellet smoker for the Ollie-Haus travels because we knew would couldn't camp for long without a smoker. The Camp Chef Pursuit is not a very compact smoker and it is still fairly heavy at around 80 pounds assembled and filled with pellets. It does fold up into a manageable package that rolls around like a two wheeled cart. It does fit nicely in the back of the truck for traveling. Camp Chef From their web site:

Initially I suspected that you just might have had a problem like I had a couple of years back. In my case, the band clamp on the rubber joint broke. Yes, it looked fine from the top but the break was where I could not see it and I've never had one of those break before. However, given the caulk I see in your pics it appears as though the "problem" was with the "glued" joint. Hopefully that caulk holds up for you. I can not tell what that "ring" is at the bottom of the sewer pipe. My 2016 just has the insulation there (i.e. there is no "ring"). Bill

Going to the Rally was awesome and really gave us some great ideas! Matt and I loved meeting all of you. the drinking glass holder is going in the left overhead cabinet above the table.

I have not calculated the actual tongue weight but estimate it between 600 - 700. We sometimes travel with the fresh water tank full depending on the circumstances. We have a 2019 Q7 with the large gas engine which gets around 26 mpg.

I installed a master kill switch on my prior trailer, primarily to remove any parasitic loads during storage under cover and because the batteries were very difficult to access. If you want to stir the pot, ask whether it should be on the positive or negative side of the battery. LOL I’ve seen strong agreements for both. I’m a negative side kinda guy. Removing the negative lead from the battery will accomplish what you need.

Yep - what Mike said above. The disconnect switches I've used just make the disconnect a bit easier (at least after the initial install) and are located right at the negative battery post. Like THIS one. Bill

Installing a switch is just a matter of disconnecting cables from the battery and reconnecting to the switch. The challenge for me was just figuring out the best spot for the switch! Mike

It's odd that even Starlink Mobility (originally marketed as Starlink for RV) doesn't have a factory 12v DC option. The aftermarket has it covered though. The Everlanders YouTube channel shows some ways to convert Starlink 120v AC power supply to run on 12v DC without using an inverter. The easiest would be to purchase a Dishy Dualie DC Power Supply from Boondocker and then use your own 12v DC router instead of the Starlink unit. Converting the Starlink router to 12v requires opening the case and soldering connections. We plan to convert our Starlink to 12v DC power, and to flat mount the dish on our tow vehicle. We'll park the TV close enough to the trailer for the WiFi to connect. No setup required except parking the TV where it has a clear view of the sky. We haven't yet done this conversion, but we'll post again when there's something to report.

$150 for the version for RV's. More for the fully mobile version.

That ring is odd looking, it may be my Aunt Edna's long lost nose ring. You will have to clean out all that gunk to know for sure. The hull "scupper drains" are located lower down that that, in channels. Good luck. John Davies Spokane WA

Honestly, training your dog and making him/her feel secure in your campsite is really important for all of you, especially for your pet's well being and security. Liv's first trip away from home was the RV supershow in Tampa, 2015. She was a little mite, only a couple months old. Camping her whole life, really. Our previous dog, Oliver, adapted well, with help., guidance, and love. He was three when we got the Ollie. (Well, except the night he ate half a stick of butter, and threw up on everything, requiring a trip to the laundromat in Lanesboro, MN 🤢.) They depend on you to set boundaries, and support them, and keep them safe. Other campers depend on you to keep your dog with you, calm, quiet, and secure, and clean up after them.

Concur, 100%! Magnus is part of the family and has learned that he can go where ever we go (we haven't informed him yet that we plan everything around his hairy butt!) Ha!

I just submitted a Service Ticket requesting a newer decal with 55 psi tire pressure recommendation. I also recommended all previous owners be sent a decal, and a tech services bulletin to explain why. Others might wish to do the same, perhaps OTT will respond to our request. For an informal test, I watched my tire pressures and temps carefully on a recent 10 hour trip, measuring with TPMS, IR gun, and pressure gauge. Mostly 65-70 mph Interstate, fully loaded, but no water in fresh or gray tank. Stopped a few times for gas, lunch & rest stop. Cold tire pressure at start was 45 psi, 65F ambient and tire temp. Sunny day in Georgia and Florida, ambient temps increased to 92F. Tire temps reached 98F max, and tire pressures increased to 51psi max. I’m confident in my family safety running my tires at 45 psi, use your own judgement.

I came here just to say this. Colorado sun is intense, and tire temperature fluctuates up 5-8 degrees!
