  1. We are using the 69 liter Truma dual zone. We have an Ecoflow Delta Pro that rides next to the fridge that the Truma runs off of. The Ecoflow is charged with a high output DC/DC charger running off the truck alternator, and also a 200w solar panel on the top of the camper shell. System works very well while traveling and overnight dry camping.

  2. You're probably not too far off. They are/were used extensively across Africa and much of the third world by UN vehicles, Red Cross, medical facilities for transporting organs/blood, etc. That's where they earned their reputation. They did develop their own proprietary compressor a few years ago that is even more efficient than the oft lauded Danfoss compressor that's in mine. Equipt in Salt Lake City is the US importer and sales outlet, but as you've found, they sell out quickly when stock arrives. If you ever get to SLC, stop and see their shop and have a chat with the owner Paul May. He's quite a character. https://www.equipt1.com/collections/fridges

  3. I’m hooked, have a dozen of these throughout the Oliver! Easy to install; they stay put for the most part; and great for hanging equipment, clothing, towels, hats, bags, you name it. I just twist the suction knob occasionally to maintain a tight hold. Here’s a few examples:

  4. I might have put my foot in my mouth while chastising them on prices as a little more in depth research shows that on dual zone units their price is not that extreme a search does show a dealer network Dealer network As suggested above, a great idea to consider dual zone capability we are eyeballing the dual zone offerings appreciate all the suggestions !

  5. If you can find a dual zone fridge/freezer within your budget and allotted space/carry capacity I would encourage you to do so. Having some overflow for both will prove very beneficial and more universal in usage. In these models either or both zones can be set to meet a current purpose. I like being able to have cold drinks when detached and away from camp, not one to mess with ice in a conventional cooler.

  6. Now up over 50,000 hours on our National Luna without a single issue. I did swap the control panel for the newer Bluetooth panel late last fall, but other than blowing out the internals with my air compressor every year or so, all it has needed is cleaning.

  7. This doesn’t hide the brackets, but protects the sleeper from scratches on the sharp edge. We used them when our granddaughter camped with us last summer. https://a.co/d/bfuirDi

  8. We were just on a seven week trip. The freezer side was stuffed with soups, casseroles, and whole meals that we had prepared and frozen at home. The fridge side had beverages, produce, and larger containers such as spare eggs or juice. This left the trailer‘a fridge free for day to day items, and ice cubes in the freezer. It worked out great!

  9. Yes love these Hasko vacuum suction cups, we also have a dozen or so all over inside the trailer, including below the street side bed for shoes…wife’s idea!

  10. I installed the standard duty version of RAS on my 2021 Silverado 1500 and was able to do it myself. It reduced the squat from the trailer by about 1.5 inches so I've been satisfied with it. They are adjustable and I have it about middle of it's range. Towing and non-towing with it now for 45K miles and I can't say I really noticed much of any change in handling/ride quality when not towing and that's fine with me. I'd recommend the RAS but it seems like airbags are good as well.

  12. what exactly sets them apart from other lower cost manufacturers? I could not determine at a glance what sets them apart from other manufacturers to command double or triple market prices ? their website does show very low power consumption on some models but it doesn’t mention the insulation, shell construction or compressor as the core reasons for efficiency ……….if there is a solid reason I would like to know what it is the brand has not come down in price like other brands have as far as I can tell, so they must have steady demand for the product maybe they have a solid long term contract with a USAID NGO as an anchor for their business model….🤣🤣🤣 Edit I am correcting myself i did take the time to read the entire web page and they do mention stainless steel exterior, aluminum interior, high density foam and a Compressor made by NL in Africa all models show sold out and also show all models are special order and shipped from Africa with extended wait times for delivery

  13. Will check in a couple of days, on our next leg. As I remember (have only used a couple of times since installation and really haven't had a need for the charger...rooftop solar is sufficient since we don't use much energy) we had amperage flow.

  14. We have had a 50L National Luna dual Fridge/Freezer since 2018. Never had an issue. They are a quality product.

  15. John, I'm fairly sure that I found the following Moen part number in an old forum post. I bought them on Amazon, but they were a bit larger and the mounting holes were different (vertical verses horizontal.) My wife actually liked them better, so I relocated one of the original hooks so that the size difference is not noticeable. I looks factory🤙 https://a.co/d/fdl5a9h

  16. Hi, JD, My equipment consists of a solar controller, a shunt and the dc to dc controller. When the dc to dc is disconnected at the andersen connector from truck to trailer there is no bluetooth blue light on the controller...nor is it discoverable. When I connect the andersen ends together it then becomes discoverable with no charging as the truck is off, but it does indicate truck battery voltage. Texas is one windy place :) Onward, John

  18. We recently bought a BougeRV CRD45 48QT 12 Volt Dual Zone Car Refrigerator : CRD45 We've used it recently for a trip from CT to FL and it worked great. It has two individually controlled compartments, each one can be either refrigerator or freezer ( you can make both sides the same if you want). The temperature control was good and it has a fast cooldown mode and an economy mode. We've only used it for one trip so far but so far we're impressed. The unit runs on AC or DC and you can also purchase a battery for it as well ( so you can use it as a portable cooler ).

  19. Below is another video on the Gree Eco-Cool. Look at the specs sheets he shows. Right at the 5:20 time the spec sheet states: Starting Current - Inverter Driven Soft Start. It does not state that on the user manual I downloaded. Can their statement about not needing a soft-start be true? The second video shows the Gree performing and during start-up does not spike and always running at 900W! Watch at 27:00 time.

  20. Ah, finally an RV AC unit with an invertor compressor and variable BTU output like a home mini split system. After a quick look the only downside I see is that the fan runs continuously just like most of the others I've already crossed off my list. This might be a problem in cooler temps with high humidity like I frequently deal with, but at the same time, *maybe* not due to it having two multi-speed blower fans and ability to throttle down to 7500 cooling BTU's . This Turbro unit definitely has my attention!

  22. You guys got me thinking about this. Nice little key rack but for me it was lacking some important criteria. I need a rack that I can reach while standing outside the door. We climb in and out too much already for older bodies! Also wanted a combo key & coat rack, with room for Charley's leash, my long shoehorn, a jacket or two and why not the flashlight! This product turned out great. Five hooks at 15" for just $17 and you can order them in various lengths. It has a flat back, so I ran 3M VHB 4950 the length of it. So strong. We had 3M Command hooks here and there, installed without much thinking to placement, so I just removed all of them. 23. Here’s a suggestion for making the dinette more comfy. Not exactly elegant, but it does a reasonably good job, and you don’t get in trouble for stealing a cushion from your significant other. It’s just an old floating boat cushion…

  24. Mine did that - I held the button in for a little longer - then got pissed, smacked it, tried it again, and it worked all summer.... GOFIGURE......

  25. Oliver caulks all of the accessories in addition to screwing them to the fiberglass. Judging from the feel of it, I assume they use the same 3M marine sealant they use everywhere else. That stuff is incredibly strong - enough so that I think the screws are mostly to hold the pieces in place while it dries. So I doubt if any of the mounting plates are loose, though it's worth checking of course. If they don't snap in place, it's probably poor manufacturing tolerances and some pieces just fit too loosely.

  26. Overland and Canoe - I thought that we may have had a case of Apples and Oranges, but ... I happened go over to see Twist yesterday afternoon and I specifically took a look at the towel bar. I had always just assumed that the little hole on the bottom of the "posts" at the end of the bar were where one would insert the usual Allen wrench to tighten and/or loosen that piece from the mounting bracket underneath. Wrong! Indeed there is a little (white) tab in that hole that is obviously the release tab for the "post". I didn't take it apart (leave a sleeping dog alone) but the whole assembly is firmly attached to the wall - as are the similar ones for the hooks inside and outside the bath. When I came home I pulled up the Moen website and found the installation guide for these puppies. https://www.moen.com/products/Brantford/Brantford_Chrome_18_towel_bar/YB2218CH Basically a plastic mounting bracket is screwed into the wall and then the "post" (outside piece) is pushed over it until an audible "snap" or "click" is heard. Assuming that the mounting bracket was installed properly, I can't see where there would be a problem. However, if the mounting plate wasn't tight enough to the wall or was too tight to the wall then the whole assembly would be loose or one would not hear the "snap" when putting the post over that plate. Therefore, the first thing I would do if I had a problem with mine would be to take the post off the mounting plate and inspect that plate for proper mounting and make adjustments as necessary. If that didn't work, I'd call Moen and ask for help. Given the design and the intended purpose it certainly appears to me that these items were made and sold to be Towel Bars. They are not robust enough to be grab bars, lift bars, safety bars, etc. and were never designed for those purposes. Bill
