  3. We are having them upgrade our axles to the 5200s when we are there for springs. Just for the record, the price has increased to $946.83 each and that does not include labor.

  4. Yes, and if you run it on normal setting with a humidity set point, the compressor cycles on and off. The power consumption drops to around 30 watts while the fan alone runs and the compressor is off. This little guy sips power. 👍

  7. Bolts are bolts and there are SAE (inches) and Metric (mm) bolts in multiple grades. I would assume those bolts are Grade 5 SAE (but could be metric). Measure the diameter which is likely 1/2" +/- and check this table for torque. I saved a picture of the table for convenience and the full PDF (good thing to have a printed copy in your truck or OTT Manual). The PDF also has a metric bolt torque table bottom of page. I always use torque tables from a reputable company, like this one from Fastenal, and I never take the time to check what each manufacturer states for standard bolts they merely purchase for their products (except something like a fine-thread crankshaft bolt where it really matter). It appears that the installer for your Anderson was not concerned with torque settings and will be much better when you set it back an inch and torque properly. 8. Another benefit to the dehumidifier is if you run it while running the AC on a normal cooling cycle, it helps reduce the humidity spikes that occur when the AC compressor shuts off. The comfort level in the Oliver is much improved in this scenario.

  9. I have used the dehumidify function on our Truma. I believe it works by simply running the compressor constantly until you turn off the dehumidify setting. It does a great job lowering the humidity, but also makes the Oliver frosty cold pretty quickly. It would not be a good option when not running on shore power and I rarely use this function since it makes the Oliver so cold and only lowers the humidity while the dehumidify function is running.

  10. Our 2021 OEII came with a 2" hitch mount rack receiver but the installation was (in my view and with respect to a lot of other good work done by the prior owner of our trailer) not quite up to 'factory standard'. In fact the U-bolt-based attachment method distorted the receiver shape just enough to make installation, and especially removal, of our 1Up hitch rack next to impossible. So I sought to improve upon it. After some research I settled on a receiver ostensibly designed for use on certain Lexus GX460 models: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BRKR1Q4X Drilling and attachment was straightforward given a drill press, a decent 1/2" bit, appropriate measuring tools, and a center punch. The aluminum is relatively soft and drilling oil was not used. I have not been able to get all the chips out of the interior, but did not try too hard to remove an end cap and access the box section beam interior that way. The hardware is 3 1/2" x 1/2" stainless with stainless and yellow zinc washers. We have not tested the setup on the road yet, but static fitment went fine. The receiver and backing plate are fairly heavy; according to the retailer, about 10 pounds. This item is designed for towing, when attached to a GX460; it is likely overkill for this application, but that's OK by me. A side benefit is the receiver has safety chain mounts through which a cable lock could be passed. I discussed this with Jason and he indicated the factory were considering offering a 2" receiver option moving forward. Our bike rack is 2", our cars and TV have 2" receivers, and use of an adapter was not appealing to me. In hindsight I might have painted it white, or silver 😀 Enjoy! Tim

  16. Who all will we see at the Hungry Mother Fiberglass Rally in October? I know Hank and Christine White, Scott and Shawna Cozzens, and Deb and me. Anyone else. Now that we’re leaving Lake Guntersville tomorrow, I’m already eager to hang out some more!

  17. The Legacy II is a two-person rig which is realistically limited to one child sized visitor. There is good and bad news there. Bad news is that you really cannot realistically sleep more than 2 adults comfortably. Good news is that you really cannot realistically be expected to sleep more than two adults comfortably.

  18. We enjoyed the beautiful drive up from Albuquerque, and had a great hike the next day to the edge of the park and then some into the Cibola NF. You can only see edges of the mountain range from the campground. Most of the campsites are difficult. We backed in first and found our entrance would be on the wrong side and steep downhill. Then I drove in head first, unhitched and lifted the tongue a foot high to get level. We didn’t want to drive the truck anyway. Tonight we’re at Hannagan Meadows south of Alpine AZ at 9130 ft. it’s cold up here, will be high if 42F by Monday! Stopped to visit with these bull elks on the way. Wow!

  19. For your 3B route you also pass the Atomic Museum Experimental Breeder Reactor-I. If that type of history is of interest to you I highly recommend it. We enjoyed the self-directed tour a lot and found it very educational. We also did Craters of the Moon last year and hiked into the Lava Caves which was very enjoyable. If the weather turns hot while you are there make sure to bring water as it can get very hot in the sun walk over all the black lava rock. It is very cool scenery. While in Twin Falls along with the Shoshone Falls Park the Scenic View Perrine Coulee Waterfall is cool as well.

  21. As for the original hub bearing manufacture my SWAG would be made in China bearings like the rest of the Dexter bearings. And yes, you would need to carry a spare hub. At the time I had our 3500# axles swapped out according to Jason at Oliver there were more than 200+ Olivers running the never lubes with zero failures reported to Oliver by owners. And so far no reported failures on here or the FB forum. My local Dexter dealer said they have never seen a reported failure on this particular hub. Not saying that you won’t ever have a failure as anything certainly is possible. They are never lube, not never fail. I could easily carry a spare hub but choose not to as these are available from Dexter and most shops. These 5200# axles are admittedly IMHO overkill for an OLE2, so I just don’t get overly concerned about a bearing failure. I really like the noticeable stopping power of the 12” drums on level roads. That said, with my diesel engine brake I rarely use truck or trailer brakes on long descents like Teton Pass or some of the higher passes in Colorado and areas out west or even here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. There are trade offs for sure. If it’s within an owners budget, I say have at it.

  22. IMPORTANT TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN ISSUE Potential Internal Battery BMS Damage MODELS IMPACTED 2021 – 2022 Oliver Legacy Elite II models equipped with (3) Lithionics Lithium 130AH Batteries & Xantrex 3000W Inverter INFORMATION Oliver Travel Trailers was alerted that under certain conditions the Lithionics internal BMS could be damaged if the full load for inrush amperage to the inverter is loaded on a single battery. RESOLUTION Owners with impacted year models should follow the Lithionics approved method for the proper restart/reboot sequence of the batteries and inverter to ensure all batteries are ON before turning the inverter ON. NOTE: The inverter is also a charger and when it powers up while connected to shore power this is utilizing the charger side. The above referenced potential condition exists only when the inverter side is turned ON. PROPER RESTART/REBOOT SEQUENCE If the inverter is OFF, drained or has entered (LBCO) Low Battery Cut Off and any or all of the batteries are OFF (no LED light on battery), then the following procedure should be followed: 1. ENSURE THAT THE INVERTER IS TURNED OFF 2. UNDER THE STREET SIDE BED ACCESS PANEL, SWITCH THE INVERTER CIRCUIT BREAKER TO THE OFF POSITION. PRESS THE RED BUTTON Note: This will cause a communication issue for the inverter remote display and requires a proper restart sequence to ensure proper communication between the inverter and remote display. (Error 20) 3. TURN ALL BATTERIES ON 4. SWITCH INVERTER CIRCUIT BREAKER TO THE ON POSITION. PRESS THE LEG BACK INTO POSITION 5. TURN THE INVERTER ON AT THE INVERTER 6. VERIFY COMMUNICATION SOFTWARE HAS LOADED: U3 01 06 A. PRESS THE UP/BATTERY BUTTON TO SCROLL THROUGH 7. TURN THE INVERTER OFF AT THE INVERTER 8.
