We just returned from 12 days RVing in Alaska, but not in our Oliver. It's a long way from CT to AK and with doctor appointments, etc. it really isn't possible for us to be away from home that long, so we flew out and rented a Class C motorhome. What a great decision! We had a blast and really liked the little Minnie Winnie RV. It was the perfect couples camper, only 24.5 feet long (just like our LE2) with a single slide and a very functional layout. And in great shape, too, being a 2025 model year. Just as easy to drive/park as our dually truck. We did Anchorage, the Kenai Peninsula, Talkeetna, and 3 nights in Denali. If you've never seen AK we'd recommend putting it on your bucket list for sure. FYI, the RV rental agency we used was Great Alaskan Holidays - www.greatalaskanholidays.com. Highly recommend them if you choose the fly/rent route.

Ah yes, a bummer for the new owners if it’s the partial tilt out windows, I just assumed it would be the fully tilt out windows! A good reminder what someone once told me, assumption is the mother of all screw ups!

Here's an update on the LE2 sliding vent window tracks. I believe the correct Hehr part numbers are H109-602 (for the curved sections) and H109-599 for the straight pieces. These can be ordered from Pelland. There is an update for these vent tracks. The tracks having the wooly fuzz on each side vertical section were replaced by flexible track made of TPV. I do not have part number or supplier information for that, at least not at this time. The TPV track is flexible enough that a separate radius-ed part is not required. The sliding portions of the 5600 / 7600 windows are not designed to be removed (the only Hehr window sold up to this point which is designed this way), so replacing the vent tracks can be tricky. I understand the vent tracks were made by an (unidentified) outside supplier and not by Hehr. I further understand that the window model number is 5600. Hehr 7600 windows are identical to the 5600 with the exception of the outer trim, meaning 5600 and 7600 series parts should work on Ollies with 5600 series windows. Neither the 5600 series nor the 7600 series are shown among Lippert's current product offerings. The story is a lot longer than this, but the important information is above. Tim

Ditched the bayonet style waste hose years ago, very pleased with this cam lock system. The hose keeps its shape, no snaking around when in use or while stowing away. The valve head has to be aligned at the curbside top notch of the rear opening for adequate clearance of the valve handle. Also made up a clear silicone hose with a terminal valve that cam locks onto the discharge pipe to primarily manage gray water, as needed. However, I generally keep it attached to the discharge pipe with the end valve closed; makes it easy to see if there is a valve leak from either holding tank, think no surprises!

We recently returned from a week-and-a-half-long trip through Glacier and Banff for my 50th Birthday. Farily last minute all 3 of my girls decided to join us on this trip. This created some logistical challenges we had to figure out. We got it all worked out but it left us with one night where no one had a place to stay except in the Ollie. That meant all 5 of us sleeping in the trailer! Who says it is just a couple's trailer, bring on the family camping 🙂 Not a great picture but had to share. The girls were great sports about it and we had a fun night hanging out and watching a movie. We ended up having a wonderful birthday trip through Glacier and Banff. It was our first time in Banff and it did not disappoint. An amazing hike up Avalanche Lake in Glacier. And then we got an amazing site in Banff Tunnel Mountain II Lake Louise did not disappoint either. We also had a great time talking with our neighbor, who was headed to Alaska in their EarthRoamer (pricey little machine)! Overall, an incredible way to celebrate a 50th birthday!

The only important detail missing is exactly which model/manufacturer tilt out window Oliver will choose as a supplier. 🤔 The window you show appears to be a basic lexan non double pane style? My understanding is the new windows will be insulated, tinted glass, and double pane and hopefully up fitted with no see um screens. Then what sort of privacy shade will the new windows have? Lots of details to be worked out for sure. So for now it’s pretty much a wait and see. Hopefully for future owners they will fully tilt out.

In my discussion with Scott Oliver while at the rally, the possible “retro fit” of the new double pane/insulated awning tilt out windows is something they are considering. (This will be expensive to retrofit if it can be done). Scott said that the engineering dept is working on it. The only concern I have is sacrificing the great cross ventilation of the existing windows which we really like. The tilt out windows have their pros and cons, but will also really limit cross ventilation. It will be interesting to see how this unfolds.

You seem to understand why I am so interested in this setup. It is on back order, so I believe it will be 2-3 weeks before it ships. But I will report back when I get it installed. I hope that the cam lock handles clear okay and that I don’t have to change the pipe length at all.

@John DorrerCampsite was B70. I think it was the best one in the place as there was no one between us and the mountain.

I heard the same, and an 8” tilt out would be reduced air flow vs existing the windows with cross ventilation. I really don’t have a dog in the fight and have not had any issues with my current windows which provide great cross ventilation. Just regular maintenance in keeping the tracks and weep holes clean and all is good. It will be interesting to see what supplier of tilt out windows the Oliver engineers roll with.

Am I missing something, I believe with a fully tilt out window you will actually have much better cross ventilation vs the stock sliding windows, it boils down to size matters! The opening with my side windows fully open is approx. 15"x18" (only approx. half of it widthwise is open), wherass with a same frame size as current Olivers but fully tilt out window you will have the entire window opening of approx. 15"x46". VS

I am ordering the 4 spring version of the ALCAN springs. Lew continues to recommend the 5 leaf (2700 pound rating) spring, but like GJ and others - I believe that is too stiff a spring for our Oliver. I plan to replace the shocks as well during the upgrade.

Mike @rideadeuce, I'll be looking forward to seeing your installation. As I did, you will likely have to remove your Victron MP2 from the streetside bed area to get to the gray waste valve underneath. The front dinette is much easier to work in, but they had my 1 1/2" gray valve installed right on top of the black waste valve and I had to rework the plumbing to give the new powered valve enough room. Hopefully they installed yours better. Every hull was a one-off back in the day!

I believe the bundle is 6008 but what they told me to do was if you want the ability to control inside and outside order the double S3VT kit with interior and exterior panels. Ext is waterproof. Then order a single kit with just an interior switch for the grey cutoff plus the added reducer they sell. Hope that helps. Give me a min and I will upload the parts list on my invoice. I just checked with the Texas Parks and Wildlife department to see what lots were still available to reserve for our Texas Oliver Rally 2025 to be held in Lake Mineral Wells State park. Sites available are 69, 70, 72, 77, 78, 80, and 86. All other sites in the park are completely booked.

Yes, you have to order new panel from SeeLevel that will connect to Victron system. Easy to switch out. The chart below may be helpful.

Where's Ollie? She's hitched up and rearing to go! She's usually behind our Tuff Shed getting some shade, but I backed her in further so the Ram can get some shade as I work on a last few details. Mostly all packed, brakes adjusted and tires set, new Bulldog and Anderson parts. Hitched and did a test drive yesterday. Not a big deal for many of you, but we're leaving Thursday for a 5+ week trip, back home on the 4th of July! Our longest trip ever by far. Off to Minnesota to see Chris' sister. We'll take 10-12 days to get there and we'll have 3 weeks for a long return, camping in the northern Minnesota woods, boondocking on the Badlands with a Mt Rushmore night visit. Then we'll make our way across the Western Slope of Colorado. Cool thing about this trip is we have not made a single reservation! We'll find our routes and camps along the way. We have all we need to be off-grid for days! Signed up for Harvest Hosts which may help in the farm country and we'll see... 🤣

I’m just not fond of the little button, though it does make for a cleaner underdash. And not much leg room at least in our GX470 where I just happen to be when reading this. I prefer the lever control to activate the trailer brakes alone vs. the tiny button when in our big truck.

Same result here. Foolproof, easy to fine tune, and responds instantly. It is the overwhelming choice in the Toyota community; not a joke.

Seriously looking into upgrading the cable pull valves to electronic. Despite regular maintenance the black handle pull has always been terrible. I have already ordered the cam lock waste connector and 20ft sewer hose that collapses to 6ft in length. They also sell an adapter if you need or want to use the old system. I’m committed to my 50th reunion at West Point in Oct ‘26 (class of 1976) so we won’t be attending. We’ve got plans already for all of Sept/Oct. Fall at Lake Guntersville should be nice, though! Mike

Sept & Oct are very popular shoulder months for those of us who travel long distances. It will be interesting to hear what attendance will be like. We won’t be attending.

Wonder whether this will affect the purchase of the interior shade frame and shades. We just had one go bad and the string on another is fraying. So it looks like I'm going to need 2 new frames. I believe this is a Lippert supplied product. This could be a big issue moving forward.

Chris and I are OK with our "Dirty Ollie." After a wash it goes from dirty to pasty, but not paying the big bucks for a shine. That picture is from our very first Oliver camping trip, July 2023 to Kendricks Peak AZ, after 26 miles of dirt road. Ever since that trip, I've brought our Dewalt leaf blower which gets a lot of it off if blown as soon as we get to our campsite. Just got back from 12 days to NM and back. We hit snow then fog and rain and it's not quite as dirty this time but it is sure stuck on now. Bought gas for the pressure washer yesterday and today it's a beautiful sunny 72F day and I should be getting wet and dirty after lunch today~!

Dan, it's good you noticed this before it got worse. Check out my picture. The two carriage bolts, shiny round heads faced up, go straight down through the frame. Get under your Oliver just behind the wheel well and tighten the two large nuts. If there is a split-ring washer that has lost its spring, replace it. If not use some blue Locktite (not red). Then check the other side as well. Edit: If you find the main jack mounting bolts are tight which is highly possible, then the head of the jack has slipped up off the post. In this case, remove the head (2-3 Allen screws), check the post for vertical markings from it slipping to be certain of cause. Then remount head. Age of your hull, having it out would be a good time to do thorough maintenance. I'm the only one that has worked the complete service and if you will do so, let me know and I will supply the link. In the meantime, do not use your stabilizer jacks.

The Item code is H109-376-19 and the description says 1/2" Glass Vinyl Seal, Black sold by the foot at $5.17 a foot for a total of $87.89. For the escape window: I bought from Steele Rubber Products. Steelerubber.com The PN number is 70-3825-255 I do not remember how much I paid for it, but I think I ordered 10' . I also ordered this in black. I hope this helps someone.

Just an FYI. We purchased hull #49 about a year ago and have constant issues with water in our dinette window. I did everything possible that the forum suggested to no avail. After more investigation I took a little pick and ran on the inside of the window tracks and the pick kept grabbing on something. Turns out the drains were stamped but not completely out. After some luck I was able to get all 4 drains clear. Not sure if this was an issue with earlier models or if we just got lucky! 😂 We have not had an issue since, knock on wood. Oops that's fiberglass.
